RU-vid randomly recommended this to me. As a lifelong Genesis fan, this is possibly the best reinterpretation and remix of any song of any era of Genesis.
I think that might be a bit beyond poor old Phil these days. A lifetime of drumming like an absolute legend has left him a physical wreck. But someone else could do it using Phil's music as the soundtrack.
How is it that Phil’s voice worked SO DAMN WELL with this style? I always loved his singing but this just adds to my appreciation. Really cool version!

Wow! The original video back in the day, gave me the creeps. Now I can't stop listening to this version. Absolutely love it. The graphics are phenomenal.
I like that Phil's original vocal is in there, which is one of his best ever. I dig this rendition and the fact that it takes the tune in a different direction. Nothing beats the sinister original though. What a track. You've just won yourself a subscriber.
The video really tells a story, doesn't it? Two subjects in constant reality-flux, at times tormented, then menacing to the point of demonic, then terrified.... and sometimes, attempting a near-impossible connection as they morph from one reality to the next. Fascinating.
The chord change at 4:03 is out of nowhere and almost jarring yet it somehow pushes things into even more dangerous and unsettling territory. I've been a Genesis fan for 30+ years and this recording and video gave me goosebumps. Brilliant work, hope you take a crack at another song from their catalog someday!

I've been listening to Phil Collins work since I was 5 years old. So since 1987. And his music still packs a punch that most modern Artists could only dream to pull off. Nice work. :)
This is one of my favorite songs ever... I remember the original video of this song clearly. Now, what you have done here is beyond amazing...!! You gave such life to the song. Such darkness than I didn't think possible since the original version is so dark on it own. Then the way you matched the chord changes and the dynamics are masterful. Great choice of synth sounds. I truly believe the members of Genesis would love this version.

For me, the meaning of this song was always a hybrid of an dystopian, totalitarian security state called "Mama" and a toxic and neglected relationship to a mother.
This version works so well, it almost feels like this is how the song should have been. Great work, I wonder if Phil will ever hear it, and what he would think.

Nice one. I’ve always enjoyed Genesis’ more sinister tracks, and this one’s perfect. I always wondered why the original was never used in Miami Vice, but this remix would suit the 80’s to a Mr.T.😼

🎉Awesome job! I’m a big Genesis fan ever since I happened to tune into a TV broadcast of the Mama tour back in the 80’s. I remember being mesmerised by Phil’s performance, starting off singing the vocals on one of the long tracks like Home By The Sea, then seeing him make his way over to the drum kit midway through the song, incredible. Also, as a teen in the late 80’s, I’m loving the synth revival that’s happening now. So a fusion of classic prog and synth is a winner for me!
This is utterly brilliant! Combining the power and passion of this classic with modern day progression. In some ways this is better than the original. It really is amazing. Magnificent musical art to match too.
