@@mattguy8882 I prepared screenshots to have colors for the palette one day before starting and I already knew how to edit palettes fast (as most of the similar colors are near each other) and then I just picked what went well. Most of the development time (3 days) went to making a new tileset for Aqutic Ruin so I can replace the colors with Aqua Lake as the new colors didn't look good with the original tileset and the rest was easy (I already had Sky High ported because I made that mod 6 months ago).

Sonic 2 was released on the gamegear. And this is an acurate recreation of that.

First of all, the title of the video is wrong as it's not based IN the 8-bit version but based ON it. Second, this is a mod for Sonic 2 Absolute which is a continuation on my previous work with changing the palettes in Sonic 1 Forever. The palettes are meant to have a SMS look to them - not to be 100% accurate and I didn't change the level design as this mod aims to only edit palettes (and sometimes backgrounds). Original level design is possible although it would take a lot of effort and time. Music tracks on the other hand are renditions of the original themes in 16-bit to better suit the visuals (as this is in a 16-bit game). In conclusion, it's not the mod that's the problem but rather the title of the video being clickbait and simply wrong.

The game came out a few months before the Genesis version so it might as well be a prequel.

@@BWF6_Official I think it could be a sequel, (I think) Sonic meets Tails in the Genesis version (correct me if I'm wrong) and in the Master System version the two of them are already friends, besides Eggman would know that Sonic and Tails are friends and that's why he would kidnap him(?) (sorry if i said something wrong, english isn't my main language)

@@breadyndrice It makes sense because canonically Tails met Sonic on West Side Island and Sonic 2 SMS takes place on South Island (as well as all of the 8-bit games). I personally think that the Master System/Game Gear games are in a different timeline because if we try to set them between other Classic games then it doesn't make any sense (unless Sonic 1 SMS takes place concurrently with the Genesis version, Sonic 2 SMS and Sonic Chaos take place before Sonic 2 MD and Sonic Triple Trouble and Sonic Blast take place after Sonic 3 & Knuckles)
