I am twelve and cuz of u I got a leopard gecko and soon once I get a job I'm gonna breed leopard geckos cuz I know it more than putting two lizards together and sellin the babies u r awesome
I am learning this stuff in class. I lol'ed when I saw the Punnet Square in class, and thought of this video. BTW, thanks for getting me a A+ on my test!!
Although this is probably the best breeding video / genetics video I've ever seen. Literally. ( After viewing a minimum of 100-120). You never went over 66% D: Unless Im missing something. Il watch it again.
@GeckoGirl36 recessive mutations are always lower case and dominant or co-dom mutations are always capital, so in the first example given Normal is dominant over blizzard so the normal is given a capital letter. If you were crossing an enigma to a normal, enigma is a dominant mutation the Normal would be n and the enigma would be E. Hope that helps.
It's about time someone took the time to do a vid like this!:) You should have been paid for this one Matt. What's keeping you from writing a book? Dave from Davidsfinegeckos
i have a hypo high yellow and i dont know where to look to see what his/her genetics are. i also have a jungle designer and the same goes for him/her. if u could answer this that would be great.
so if i breed a full "bb" with an "Nb" and get one with the blizzard trait on the outside it has to b a full "bb" again...cus if it had any normal in it according to the chart it will show it on the outside...
ok nb to bb when you a bb back would they be het for "normal"?????? and ik that it cant be het for normal it self but if it was another morfe. THANKS!?!?!?
So i have a fully red eyed raptor female but not a raptor male is there any way i could make the babies have the red eyd gene with a male banded albino??
perfectly awesome - great job and thanks!! Q: are there any known sex-linked colors in LGs? (In cats this would be calico only shows in females (XX), but males (XY) can carry - needs the XX gene to show...)
Dose anyone know what i would get if i breed my super snow eclipse to a raptor? Im really interested in learning leo genetics so any advice would be greatly appreciated😊
Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, I am just really new at leopard gecko genetics. If you have an Nb and a NN, how can you tell the difference? Is there a way to tell if your Normal has the recessive blizzard gene, or do you just simply have to breed them and wait for a suprise?
If I am correct, than I believe that a normal het blizzard (Bb) x blizzard (BB), will produce 50% blizzard, and 50% normal het blizzard. So no you will not get all blizzards.
So let me give my feed back here 100% good video but let me get something straight here If i breed my Normal male to a female Blizzard I'll get all babies that look normal but carry the trait of blizzard and if i take a Nb to another blizzard will i get all blizards??
Funny fact nothing in life gives you exact 50-50 chance. Even the coin flip you have mentioned isn't 50-50. In reality it depends on various factors like weight distribution on the coin and even which way it was facing when thrown into the air. As far as I am concerned there is no thing known to human that's has exactly 50-50 chances one way or another.
