A compilation of videos of Genie Wiley speaking, courtesy of David and Marilyn Rigler for the videos. Turn on captions as Genie can be quite hard to understand. I apologize for the heavily compressed footages thanks to RU-vid.
There are atleast 3 more footages I forgot to upload and about hundred more I'm not allowed to upload.

1:48 “I like log” was funny. She’s so cute. It’s obviously NOT cute how damaged she was or what happened to this poor child, but her curiosity and thirst for learning after all that deprivation is inspiring. And yes. It’s cute.
@JustSomeGuyLV
@JustSomeGuyLV 8 месяцев назад
Yes, i can understand it being cute seeing the child in her finally having opportunity to come out and to interact with others and to finally have opportunity to learn and to feel emotions, including happiness. But her story is very sad and very tragic. The supposedly rescuers and carers, after not knowing what to do with her, threw her back in mental asylum type ''care'' facility, where she rapidly regressed and, no doubt, felt again empty inside and probably even depressed. Her ''father'' was a horrible monster, but so were the people working for government institutions, the ones who were supposed to take care of this severely abused child. Story like hers is reminded to not always put faith into government institutions which, ''on paper'', work to help the ones who have been abused.

I think the most incredible part about Genie's story is how despite being told she'll never understand or grasp language after the rescue, she eventually did grasp the concept of it & slowly learned how to loosely speak on top of learning sign language quite thoroughly. Or at least, enough to communicate her own thoughts. That alone is huge, because it displays a faint sense of identity or self. She behaves like an average 2 year old, yet has the emotional capacity of someone who is 8 or so years old when these were filmed. I can see why so many people wanted to research her at the time, admittedly. It just stinks they never thought about the long-term implications of her state. Otherwise they would have not only answered their big hypothesis, but also would have given this individual another chance at life with a support system that would have known how to properly take care of her & help her continue to improve. Thank you for being respectful to Mr and Mrs. Rigler's wishes and not releasing anymore videos. I'd like to imagine it's for the best that Genie's whereabouts + other more minute details stay a mystery as it's nobody's business to stick their nose into her life any further. Let the person live in peace.

Not many things in this world I have actually shed a tear for but the story of Genie Wiley is just so fucking sad, tragic, heartbreaking and devastating. My brain literally cannot comprehend this level of child abuse. I can't fathom it. What a poor poor beautiful soul. What a poor sweetheart. I have a niece that's 13 years old right now, and Genie when she was discovered and rescued at the same age was a FAR CRY from normally developed 13 year olds, mentally and physically. 4 feet tall and 59 pounds, could barely even walk or outstretch her limbs. I absolutely don't blame the scientists and caregivers, I know they meant no harm, but it breaks my heart a little when grown people are talked to like toddlers. It breaks me to think that out there right now there's probably other children who are going through something similar to what she went through or worse and we can't do anything about it because we don't know where they are

Uhhhh I hate to break it to you but this was a LONG time ago. Her story essentially ends when the state takes her away from the people who helped her make progress. We do not know if she’s even alive anymore because it’s all private. Even the people in these videos are not allowed the information. If she is alive she’d be 66. The last known report on her she seemed disinterested and all progress had been completely lost. It is quite tragic how even after being rescued she was taken away from the people who truly cared about her…
@artfull334
@artfull334 Год назад
@@Skewer-ratyou’re incorrect. Genie was not a feral child she had been extremely abused by her Father. He put Genie in a straight jacket age 2 and chained her to a potty seat in a dark room until her teens. She had no contact with anyone, only her Father who threw food in the room and he barked at her. Genie’s brain never developed because she had no interaction with other sane human beings. The scientists used her as a human guinea pig. They tried to educate her and they failed because her brain was not able to cope because it was underdeveloped and she went into regression. She ended up going crazy, with bizarre body language and head banging, it was cruel. They were filming her and using her for scientific research. Genie needed peace and quiet and her Mother eventually won access and Genie was moved to a residential home for adults with learning difficulties. She was happy living in the home away from all the crap she’d endured.

As I am aware that tragic case of human isolation was continued by the USA authorities to conseal their crime in the first place - the fact that there was that tragic case of human isolation for years with no proper actions from the state officials to save this little girl from her horrific family. So, after years of relative freedom, a chance for development and the future, this little girl was closed in some specific institution with no hope for any further development, love and life actually by the state court decision and the state officials decision. Thus, the real criminal from the very beginning have always been the numerous state officials of the USA who resposible for the first - neglectance the child safety at the very beginning of her life, and then who ended her life by returning her into a prison like institution for the same kind of highly restricted existence as she experienced in the home of her parents.

Once in a lifetime gal. I wish I could’ve changed things for her, just exceedingly sad. Her mother was selfish to not have let her go with her researcher. Ever since finding a video on her during a late night internet sojourn in the beginning days of RU-vid, I feel a kinship and protective over her somehow and search her up infrequently. Glad to have come across this footage This was the first of her I ever saw. Always so curious and bright: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x3kfxz6oLjQ.html

So she was a science experiment, here we can clearly how Geani was abused, she was laughing, she was happy, and was having a lot of progress in intelligence. Why is bad that they were caring for her and at the same time testing her? This tests helped her a lot and people that say otherwise just don’t want to see the whole picture

Part of the problem is they kept pushing her. She got to a point where she could be somewhat normal and they kept trying to make her speak proper grammar. We didn't understand the brain at the time and we now know she would never be able to do so. Her brain had not grown from not being stimulated as a child. Her language section of her brain was basically non existent. They kept trying to prove/disprove a theory (name I forget) that learning a language after a certain time was impossible.

Well, this footage was shot two years after her discovery, not immediately afterward, so she had made a lot of improvements by then. However, after coming of age and living in various group homes/institutions, some of which subjected her to extreme physical abuse, she reverted back to her old ways.

I just stumbled upon this video and haven't a clue who this person is or what she went through...yet. I do know that as a baby my legs were twisted very hard and my hip was stabbed hard with safety pins. My older sister would claw my eyes and when I tried to cover them she'd attack my tummy with her pounding fists. My mother told her she could. At age eight my mother held me while 4 men violently raped by bottom and my two sisters said a whole lot of cruel evil things. Then, I was threatened to be buried in a woman's back yard unless I forgot everything. I received so much daily torment that I did soon forget, who would even want to remember all that horror. My family told the whole world, even school knew. In 9th grade I watched my mother and the vice principal have intercourse in his office while I cried after getting swatted by his paddle. I could go on an on but that's not why I wanted to share all that trauma I went though. It's that I'm in healthy condition compared to this poor child. I can only imagine what she had to daily endure. I was tricked into thinking my family somehow loved me, though they really didn't. If my family targeted me the way they did then... I can't pray hard enough for this sick world that harbors secret evil so well. It pays for it later though. No getting around that.

Fuck mane, I get U so damn bad. I got huge traumas regarding sexual abuse/intercourse and physical violence and I do understand how you feel. People may change but the memories won't ever vanish and it hurts like a bitch. At least I don't want to forgive anybody who was responsible for any of the traumas I still carry to this day. I highly hope that you recover and is able to move on with your life safely, and also that you help as many people as you can.

@@shanrose8283 He was the boy's vice principal at Eagle Rock Junior High School in Eagle Rock, a suburb of Los Angeles. I had ran out of the office crying and the secretary ordered me to sit down at a chair. That's when I told her everything. At first she just thought I was a liar, but then she heard loud sex sounds coming from the closed vice principal's office door. She went over and banged loudly on the door and yelled "They can hear you all the way down the hall, stop it!" That's when I ran out the door and left school. My life has been a very cruel joke. This world can get away with so much it's pathetic. That was just one thing. The year was 1972 and his name was Mr. Curry.

This is both heartbreaking and heartwarming to see 😢❤ so much suffering she’s been through for over 13 years in a dark room with no sensory input or socialising with anyone more then short times while feeding or abuse. 😭🤯 I saw another video about genie wiley more about the background fact and what happened when she was born. And that it was some speculation that she had some sort of developmental disability / special needs, from birth, She was living “normal” at least more around her parents until she was around 3 years old and that was when she was kept in that room. And I do understand that because of this is such a hard and difficult case of abuse and neglect, and she didn’t socialise with anyone and her social skills and she never learned basic skills. And I know many people have the “theory” of that she might actually be on the autism spectrum, because of there is a lot of “symptoms” but that can also be caused by the abuse and neglect cause she never had any sense of reality. Her world was that empty dark room for 13 year. I can’t understand parents can do such horrible things to their own children. And I know this is a old case and storyline, and I hope we will never see such a tragedy case again😭❤️ I’m so devastated that the father killed him self and the victims never got justice for what the father did to them💔😓
