The way that Harry just completely shuts down after you kill Larry is genuinely heart-wrenching, even if it’s played for laughs in the pacifist route, it’s obvious the two really care for each other despite all the bickering.
Yeah, these two were such a strong and tight knit duo that Harry can’t conceive a world where he lives but Larry doesn’t, he just gives up the will to live and no longer wants you to spare him.
Hi, i'm Larry, The newest royal tester!- How about you test the core. ...Wha?- *cutely gets pushed to the core getting eviscerated to absolute nothingness*
the fact that the game gives you a *choice* to follow them fucks me up so bad. You get multiple warnings and opportunities to back down. Heavy Snowgrave vibes.
@@AvarageRpgFan Basically you free dogs by scaring them which make them panic and attack the pet with bones creating an extra bit of difficulty in the fight, after enough times they will get freed from the webs and run away, then the spiders will make like a shield by stacking on eachother and standing infront of Muffet, Muffet still dies in one hit.
I saw someone else say the moment before this fight was Chara questioning if the soul was theirs Kris-style, but considering the fight starts immediately after that i think that moment was more akin to Clover’s reaction to “I WAS FORCED TO NEUTRALIZE THAT HUMAN.” Chara was enraged by Larry saying they had no soul. Probably due to their implied horrible life on the surface. Maybe it reminded them of a bad memory since this point is usually where you’re supposed to get the stargaze memory
@@Alt_DiegoBrando Also considering that Chara is aware of what is happening and even aware that we seem to fumble their choices from time to time like with Asgore
@@Alt_DiegoBrando isn’t there a page in the journal that’s unlocked after this fight that has the red soul surrounded by question marks? Sounds like a piece of evidence that the soul isn’t actually Chara’s to me.
The three horsemen of depressing genocides One has you kill two kids and frick up someone's friends in the proccess One has you push someone off a cliff And one has you winning but at what cost?
After you push Larry off you no longer have the ability to spare harry. He watched his best friend die and no longer has the will to continue it's very sad
These guys aren’t even a threat. It fills you with a sense of sadness, but also a sense of empowerment that not only can they not hurt you, but you deplete almost all of their HP in two hits. And all they can do is watch you kill them.
Had my mouth drop when Larry fell, stayed wide open until i reached the next checkpoint. Has to be the most "spine" chilling moment of the game haha... (I feel so bad though 😥😥)
"...You even have the courage to feel bad? You could have just backed down. You wanted to chase them. You wanted to corner them. You wanted to kill them. You. Wanted. This".
Because... It is? These two guys literally are those secondary characters in horror movies, whose death is gruesome and blood-chilling, and only a few would remember them.
The sorta disturbing part to me about their theme in genocide is it almost has a vague deep laughter sound (Possibly Chara's) as if this is like a kid is getting revenge on two bullies. That's kinda this fight in a nutshell. We don't NEED to chase after and kill Harry and Larry, but we WANT to because it continues the ruthless route, and also because those two goons were kinda bullies to the human. It almost feels like a really twisted form of Karma for Harry and Larry to get hunted for no real reason after they taunted and tried capturing Chara for their boss.
after sparing larry: (other the other way around) * Chara stands there, with Larry just there, * * Larry: Why? * Larry: Why me? * ... It's because it's fun. (I didn't want to.) (2nd option chose.) * Larry: ... * ... And making it just make's me smile. (That's not me.) (2nd option chose, chara twitches.) * Larry tears up. * ... All that, to make you suffer. (THAT'S NOT ME) (Chara twitches again.) * Chara starts to twitch, alot, before pulling their heart out, Larry then looks, extremely shocked, then Chara throws it at the floor, and smashes is to pieces with the Pan. (After 4th hit you die.)
@@RandomDude28109 that definitely would be an interesting gimmick, you have to kill Larry to progress in the game. But I will say, the options Chara doesn’t want to say are a bit too elaborate and direct. Every time Frisk (who I assume is the one changing the dialogue) takes control of them, the things they say are always short and around 2 words at most. I feel like the dialogue would be more like them saying “Its fun” over and over.
There is this small comic where after Chara spare Larry, he tries to push them off the cliff, but Chara just endup killing Harry the same by pushing him
Honestly, pushing them off the edge was the first thing I thought about. Like, I thought, “Okay, I’m sure I can just kill them normally… but what if *yeet?”*
If I was cornered in the depths of a cave and face-to-face with a murderous human that wanted nothing more than to watch me and my buddy turn to dust, I'd be pretty peeved about the banging tunes too
This is so messed up. They give you multiple warnings to back off if you dont then you need to fight them but the messed up part is where you push Larry off the cliff and Harry is just giving up after he falls
1: I like to think that the disturbing music isn’t theirs but rather yours in the perspective of them fighting you. Like, this is YOUR boss music FOR THEM Y’know? 2: is anyone gonna talk about the laugh’s in the background of this song? Genuinely sort of terrifying when you start thinking of it
This just *sounds* like a ballroom dance with death, with what I can only assume is Chara's laughter in the background and the mumbled panic of the Boogiemen
I predict someone will definitely come here and drop a cliche comment about le good old days when PG3D "wasn't P2W-oriented." But the truth is that it has always been attempting to make you steal your mom's credit card. Back then, you literally could not obtain more than 4 weapons without paying. The difference between the old era and modern era is that they are more open about it in the latter, but at the same time, they have reformed a bit and offered the players an option to deviate from the P2W path: 140 gems for coming first in Crystal League clan war, obtaining 150 gems, 100 Pixel Pass Tickets, or modules from watching 30 ads, 30 gems from watching 5 ads (assuming this data from 10 months ago is up to date).
This comes at a cost of forming your own path of pointless grindfest, however, with Lotto grinding being useless when it comes to potential parts for weapons and such in a Fighter's, now currently being 15 parts per event weapon, and most Legendary and Epic weapons now requiring you collect 250 parts to craft them. Sets have been changed to 'Pick a card, any card' in which you have 8 cards. New weapons in Sets have cards at 200 each, with your first one being 20% off, or 160 gems. If it's an old set, it'll be 100-80. Trader's Van prices have also in-flated, with most Mythical weapons, mid or not, being anywhere from 500 to 800. It is apparently a part of their strategy: Exhausting you from performing tedious tasks & grinding off for keys and the Pixel Pass everyday, which makes you grow desperate enough to eventually succumb to the credit card.
I love this song. The way she fits the mood of the fight is perfect. The boogiemen are literally standing on the edge. They are fighting for their lives and this song describes their despair. How they try to find a way out of here. Best Track TS! Underswap
...no retreat... ...can't escape...near/here... ...monster attacks That's what I hear Could either be Chara threatening them or Harry and Larry panicking
"...The nightmare has consumed us before we escape..." "...The nightmare has ended, and the terror begins..." "...To Awaken the end..." "...To be the Monster from the surface..."
i THINK i hear "story" near the end of the first line (MAYBE "to speak at the end of the first line too) and "a nightmare" at the start of the second line, third line i have no fucking clue and fourth line, as aguynotnamedx said "monster from the surface" (maybe "a monster has surfaced") perhaps??
Nono, monsters in UT aren't evil (even those who try to be evil, like koffin-k, aren't real threats). We are the demon that comes even when no one calls out their name.
@@TheFluffiestPrince koffin-k is still alive too. i'm don't like the idea that larry lived, cause that takes away from the emotion of this part. but a koffin-k and larry fight would go hard as hell
why is there a balloon boy laugh??? jokes aside this is a chilling theme that perfectly fits the scene. Or alternatively, the scene engraved the theme into my brain as being terrifying.
