Thank you for doing this. Such a geeky thing but I appreciate that you put in the time. I have had to refer to it several times as I am a newbie with my son and this hobby is far more than just plug and play. Well done.
I've just gotten back into the hobby after about 20+ years away from it. Mostly flew gliders off the cliffs in Palos Verdes, everything from floaters to jet style gliders, and I recently bought a Valiant, along with the Imar 3 ACE Pro so I could charge the batteries for the plane. I tried, key word TRIED, following the manual, but it had pictures of what the screen would look like, then it would tell you to press this or that button, and the pictures never changed for any of the steps it was telling you to take. It was the same picture for each step - no changes shown. Not to mention I had NO idea what to connect to where, and the "directions" make NO mention of what or how to connect to what or why. I was thinking that the white plug was what I would charge with (2200 mah, 3s, 11.1 v), so I connected it all together (yes, I did set the correct battery type and C) and when I tried to start the charge it told me to scrap my battery, the voltage was too low. I saw you had BOTH that plug and the power plug connected. DOH! Happy to report my battery is now charging!
Would you know why a shorty 3s lipo 2200 would have one cell charge faster and discharge more slowly than the other 2? 2 cells are @ 3.8 and the third is 4.8 Not sure and both packs are like it...
It kind of does, but I’m still wondering if it will damage the battery while plugged in after the charge is done, the charger goes into a different mode when it’s finished charging
@@brayanlopez4836 I got it figured out. I'm new to the real RC world. I started with a traxxas ID charger, just a plug and charge. But this one has some much stuff in it. Just takes awhile to het used to it. But mine says charge done and shuts down. The screen does stay on though.
@@RazorRC Yea I was confused when charging my 6s lipo as well with this. I used CELLBAL and all my cells were at 4.09. Switched to CHARGE and they went to 4.2v across all the cells. Im assuming that CHARGE is a balanced charge considering all my cells were identical. Then, whats CELLBAL then lol? Confused I am.
Charging in CellBal mode means the charger only balances the cells up to 4.05V per cell or 8.10V total voltage for a 2S. You need to set it to CHARGE if you want it to fully charge the battery (2S 8.4V) it should balance also. I have one, and looked at my manual.
