Archie Williams I discovered this group three days ago. The are so talented and dedicated. Think the first night I listened to every video they had. Hope to see them some day
Me too. One of the Petersen's videos came up under "bluegrass" a couple months ago for me, I clicked on it and WOW, this family is Great!! All of them! Mom, Dad, 3 daughters and a son...and their friend plays one mean dobro!! I just keep clickin' on their RU-vid videos!
When this pandemic thing is over and international travel starts up, I am going to treat myself to a flight from the other side of the world just to sit in this Little Oprey Theatre in Branson and see these folk. I think it will be a fine night’s entertainment, very gentle on my mind. And if I can catch a Josh, Reina, Carson, Toni show somewhere or other, I can die happy.
@@iworkforme Reminds me of the Story that there was Graffiti on a wall in Paris that said "God is Dead- Camus". After Camus nipped his turd someone wrote under it- "Camus is Dead-God".
Who cares about politics. Beautiful music Is just that, beautiful. I’m an atheist democrat who listens to to wu tang and this song is fire son ... don’t judge people, they are more complex than you realize. Go Peterson’s!
@@edyue1 I think at this level just about everything is intentional. She is probably trained in singing (like almost all professionals) and they practice these songs until they do them flawlessly ecery time. I could be wrong, of course, but I wager every note execution is intended.
@@markh9875 I guess the only way we can tell it's "trained" or "intentional" is to hear her sing it without it right? That would be interesting if she's able to sing it just straight the way her sisters sing some of the ballads.
@@glennericksenmusic I see you in every video of julianne - praising her vioce and mentioning other songs by her. Maybe because i follow your advice ;)
Somewhere up in Heaven Glen Campbell is looking down at Juli singing his song and he has the biggest smile upon his face. That young lady is so very special. I just love to listen to her sing. Take care. sincerely, Dean O. :-I
@socal rocks --- You're right. But in the end Gentle on my Mind is a Glen Campbell tune. In fact Glen made John Hartford a rich man when he decided to record the guys song. It was like that when Jimi Hendrix decided to record All Along The Watchtower. Jimi did his version of that song... Suddenly (almost overnight) it was no longer a Bob Dylan song anymore. It was Jimi's song. There is a video here on RU-vid where they are talking about John Hartford and that song... Glen said... "He played it too slow." Which was true. Glen sped up the tempo and it became an instant hit. Then Glen proceeds to play the tune with a house band of studio musicians and in turn he throws out one of the single best guitar solo's Glen Campbell ever played live. It still makes me feel emotional when I watch it. People can say what they want about Glen Campbell... But the reality is that Glen Campbell was one of the greatest guitar players of (not only) the modern era... But of any era. Thanks for your reply. Take care. sincerely, Dean O. :-I
Actually all three of those young ladies on that stage have wonderful beautiful voices.and the mother too, and the boys as well. As you get to know them well, you find they all have been uniquely blessed with talent, and with the hard work they've put in, to develop and hone it.
Julianne had a tough one with this song. Change the gender to make it a female perspective, change a couple words to make it age appropriate and sing it, all the while playing her part on the mandolin. She did beyond great! I don't think John would mind her taking those liberties with the lyrics. The family band is wonderful, dressed nicely and all smiles. The music industry needs to take note of these youths. Well done!
*Nashville* you sure do not want to live or work in Nashville, these days. Worse than a 8iden version of "Back to the Future II" nightmare movie. Yikes!
I love the way this girls sings... and I have a hunch she is smart, funny, and can stir up some family mischief. The little smile she throws out tells a lot
Have to add one more comment. All the instruments these folks played were played exceptionally well. Mama was making that upright bass proud to be an instrument!
Reading the comments here, people the world over swoon over Julienne's voice. My day or night turns cheery whenever ï hear her sing. Thank you Julienne. Thank you Mom and Dad Petersen. Great musical talents. Please come over to Asia on tour when the virus clears up or ï will visit Branson just to catch your live gigs.
Such a wonderful performance of one of my favorite songs. But what I really enjoy is the plethora of positive commentary. The Peterson's best compliment is that they seem to bring out the best in each of us. Wonderful....just plain wonderful.
This , ladies and gentlemen , is poetry in motion ! To be living in these times and at this time in history , enables all of us here present to take in and appreciate the application of these God- given gifts .......... with much gratitude , we applaud the Petersons from way down under in Australia.
My God, what blessed family and her smile after every line, please young lady, never change that, it’s unique and what a voice, she is amazing, please keep posting these videos, since I found your group by mistake, I can't have enough of it, my our God keep and bless you all. From CLB from the Cayman Islands.
Watching and listening to your family play music inspires me to be a better person, father, husband and Christian. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
On one of the recent Q&A sessions with Patreon fans, I asked about differences in instrumentation across the years, e.g., when Emmet joined the band and now that Julianne is away. I just realized that I only now heard the mandolin being more pronounced compared to other songs/videos and the banjo doing the fill-in parts that Emmet does with his dobro in the newer "live" video. I play electric guitar--both rhythm and lead--but I'm nowhere near performance level as your family does with your vocals and instrumentation. Great work as always.
love the applause on this one.....would have loved to hear it longer.....they really loved it and made that clear.......why not? it was so wonderful.........
I just LOVE this family! Their sound is sweet, makes me think of back home! Thank you so much for sharing your God given talents with us! Blessings Petersen Family 👏😘
Julianne has a pleasant and very easy to listen to voice....I hear a whisper of Iris DeMent in her voice, and that's a good thing! I love the whole group.....sounding great over here in the hills of old Virginny.
She sings like an angel. Too bad I'm not aloud to fall in love again cuz I'm married. Just kidding. Thank You for the beautiful song Gentle on my Mind.
You are sweetie, I feel peace in a troubled moments listening you, Julianne, and you have the Holly Spirit in your life. And I'm praying for you. When I visit USA again I'll try to see you personally. Greetings from Brazil.
Ok that got me! Stop cutting all those onions while I'm listening to the Petersen Family Band! What do you mean you're not cutting those onions? Wonderful! Thank you and God Bless!!!!
Beautiful diamond in the rough is Julianne. Wonderful angel and blessings to the whole group are great performers and master in their instruments. Greetings from Osorno Chile and excuse my English similar to tarzan jejeje
