Kira had neck surgery to repair two herniated cervical discs several years ago. She's back to full activity including tennis and snowboarding. She took some minor falls on the mountain the week prior and wanted some help with tightness and spasms in her neck and left shoulder.
In this session, I demonstrate cervical spine range of motion, simple tests for disc injury, myofascial release of the upper shoulder and neck, and a safe and gentle adjustment to the lower neck and cervical vertebrae.
We welcome your comments and questions.

Coming from someone who was nearly paralyzed, and used continued PT and chiropractic care to manually bring an almost sequestered disc back into spinal alignment, u are wrong. Human biomechanics and ergonomic stress have changed drastically, and people do not use range of motion that keeps joints lubed and healthy in function. So when someone is unable to reach these degrees of motion, they need assistance to push past that Nth degree to release the fascia and synovial fluid that will become stagnated and drag lactic acid into ur muscular system. Which is degenerative. Jog a mile in under 10 minutes and see what compression does to u if u havent been conditioned to that. While in near dislocation, a very compassionate physician is who “hush hush” advised me that i would NEED an adjustment and soft tissue work bc it was impinging my swallowing and breathing muscles. So please leave ur negativity out of this channel, us and Doc have no use or want for it. 👍

@@doctor86gonzo I agree. Years ago while visiting family, I woke up feeling like the bones in my neck had "shifted" or something, and I was in a lot of pain & couldn't even hold my head up straight. My mom took me to her Chiro, even though I was skeptical, and after an adjustment I walked out with my head up and no pain. In the years since, any time that has happened to me, I have always been able to find a good Chiro to help get everything back "into place". There's an obvious difference in my pain level BEFORE getting an adjustment vs. after.

@@guccideltaco the amount of ignorance by people can be almost unbelievable. But hey, 15 years ago, if they wanted to go ahead and have a surgeon cut their throat open, move their esophagus to the side to expose the cervical vertebrae, and slice out discs and drill in metal hardware that will flare up painfully at every barometric change,….. have at it. C5-6 moderate-extreme extrusion Herniations above and below Cervical stenosis Cervical osteophytes Reversal of lardotic feature that was held kyphotic during extreme impingement C spine scolio in upper thoracic (under 15°) Degenerative disc disease and soft tissue damage This was just my neck at 24 years old, not even including other injuries i have. If ANYONE believes that anything other then chiropractic care would manually drag that extrusion back paracentral as MRI would notate, PLEASE enthrall me with the examples. Light stretches? Heat? Ice? Muscle e stem? Ill reserve my giggle to that concept….

Completely agree. What I like about Dr Russ though is he’s methodical and gentle. I think a lot of the soft tissue work he does is beneficial. The folks I see popping, cracking, and yanking on people absolutely blow my mind.
