Alright here we go... from the finale episode of season 1 that has just aired over here tonight. Another scene from the BBC version that is left out in the HBO one. I'm gonna miss this show until it returns... in 2021. cries

This scene would've been good for us Americans to see in order to understand just how exhausted Anne was from her journey since she lashes out at the doc later on. But time allotments... More thanks for posting. Love watching these cut scenes!

Very grateful for posting this scene so soon after it aired on BBC. Very important background info to better understand why Anne is so angry that she attacks Doc Kenny upon arrival at home. And funny, too.

Love all this: the direct to camera, the servants shivering in the cold, the pacing, the direction... it makes me feel as tossed about as the characters!

Love that on the disc this is included in the episode. Gives us more of an insight to Anne when she isn’t surrounded by people and made to feel like she has to impress

What a fun scene - the way she throws the paper :)) thank you so much for posting. Such a pity that they are taken out from the hbo version. Can the complete BBC version be seen online outside of the UK? Also, there is something I don't seem to understand - this scene is from the beginning of the trip or the return home? She is writing to Mariana to expect her, to make a pit stop on the way to Shibden?

Yes, the show is available to watch via the BBC iPlayer service, you just need to register an account, its free and use a VPN. Don't know if anyone else has streamed the BBC version though, I haven't searched for it.

OMG THIS IS AWESOME!!!!! I wonder how long she had to sit in that hammock (my back ached just watching it) Fantastic 4th wall break, she even throws the paper wad AT THE CAMERA. This particular journey is covered in excellent detail in the companion book by Anna Choma (So many Ann'e'a-s in this series)

Why did the Americans cut this scene? When there’s so much violence seen on their TV and News? Gentleman Jack is an amazing love story and society history programme. It show us how little we have changed in our attitude towards others that don’t fit into our ideas of normal society class. How money still speaks etc.

I’m assuming HBO cut these scenes to make them fit time allotment. Why are bbc time allotments so much longer?....this is GREAT STUFF!!! Also hope she brushed her teeth before she kissed Ann Walker!🤢🤢

Does HBO have ad breaks? Nothing on the BBC has ads so shows are typically cut when they air in the US/NZ/Australia etc

BBC programmes do not have any ads and thus the whole episode is played all in one go with no ad breaks. Tricky especially if you need a loo break....
