He meant not using literal individual strands to draw the entire hair, to focus more on the overall actual shape of the hair. Which is what he did as well. Adding small amounts of individual strands are a necessity tho, so that the hair doesn't feel like one solid shape and has some actual flow to it. Essentially, individual strands are important to add for a natural look, but going overboard can make the hair look messy, and drawing the hair entirely out of individual strands will make it look even less natural than a solid blob.

Right??😂 I have an OC who has no nose or eyes, he's supposed to be an unfinished drawing turned real so that's why some facial features don't exist! Then I have an old OC who always wears a mask due to his teeth being messed up, he also suffers from bully trauma and rarely takes it off even infront of his girlfriend. Can I ask why your OC has no facial features?

I love that Sam not only gives plenty of art advice on this channel but while doing so he also NEVER raises his voice like most RU-vidrs screaming their asses off to capture the attention of small children. Found Sam’s channel recently and I love his content and they way he makes it.
