Super cool to see you stick with the process just to see how it would work out. Always push the boundaries. You never really know until you try! You owned up, and it actually turned out looking pretty good! That book of leaf looked like it had seen better days ( and a lot of them) but, job done! Can't wait for the next one. Doing my best to get people to migrate to your channel daily! Thanks for sharing your skills!
Good video. If you could, tell us what tools, paper or boards you use please. Also wandered why you used orange and not something else but you stated it showed through the leaf. Kindly educate me. Thanks.
Hey, I use chiseled sign painting brushes. The paper is for lack of a better word semi coated (grabbed from dollarama). I would normally use imitation gold 1 shot, but I didn't have any so used orange as it was there.
I think it's great that you tried and even though it didn't work out at least you had fun doing it and learning it doesn't give the best finish, I don't see the difference but I don't know a thing about gold leafing lol or is it called gilding?
Hi there , this is beautiful ! I want to try this method soon. What type of gold paper did you use and if I use 1shot imitation gold paint will the gold paper apply directly to it ?
Hi keyshia, thank for enjoying the video. The gold I'm using in this video is very old but genuine. Unfortunately for this project it was almost impossible to use and normally it works a lot better than this. For my genuine and imitation gold leaf I go to handovers in the uk. Most leaf will stick well to imitation gold 1shot of applied at the right time. Will probably do a video on that soon!
I just use a standard soft chalk, be wary of the coloured chalks, as I've noticed some of them are difficult to remove and can stain the colour of the paint.
