If we can find a silver lining in this pandemic, it's the fact the Barry is doing interviews likes this now! I so enjoyed it and didn't want it to end! Thank you!
What a humble, kind man. His musical genius will live on for generations to come. Love listening to the BeeGees, always makes me feel good. Thank you for all the happy memories Barry!! God bless and keep on making music!!!
The Bee Gee's were "different"...in the best of ways as songwriters, singers and performers. They didn't need instruments...just one mic and the three voices were magic.
@@pearlegates7079 so do I and I haven't seen any of his solo concerts in person yet when I do I plan to give him a hug mainly because the music he and his brothers did helped me through my own family losses and lonely times in my own life Thanks Barry Gibb I love you and I'm one of your biggest fans
He doesn’t want to watch the documentary because he lost three brothers and that’s why because he felt something inside of him he cannot just close you have to give this guy a break because he’s been a lot of trauma over the years losing his brothers and losing his mother losing his father and yeah
I never tire of hearing him speak. He’s a steady calm soul. I think he’s had a long time to reflect on his career but I’m so glad he’s had a resurgence with greenfields. I admire him so much. 💁🏻♀️☀️💕
I hope Barry watches some of these young people who do" reactions" . They are so blown away by the astounding talent they hear and see. It is so much fun to see them react, cry and say " "I didn't know there was ever talent like this".
Love Geoff’s enthusiasm, it produced a great interview with a giant in music! They spoke as if they were great friends and I could have listened for another hour. Yes we all love Barry’s falsetto, but that depth of his voice gives me chills. I can listen over and over again to the beginning of Nights On Broadway when he belts out “here we are”, goosebumps. Awesome interview and I hope there’s a second one.
I am so fortunate to have lived in the time of the Bee Gees. Barry always gives a good interview! He sounds so intelligent. The way he talks about music is so informative. I hope he continues making great music. He also has a great sense of humor! I love how he has been married for over 50 years with 5 children and 8 grandchildren.. I hope his book will come out soon. He has been writing it for 5 years now. I would like him to include some new songs amidst the older ones on his next album! I hope he will do some concerts as well!
I just love him. He is truly a genius, so smart and loving and yet so down to earth. I can’t get enough of the BeeGees constantly listening to them as it cheers me up if I have a bad day. Great interview!
I’m obsessed at the moment! The documentary, the Greenfields album, has brought back the whole catalogue of The Bee Gees music which is the soundtrack of some of my most cherished memories. This was a great interview, Sir Barry as his usual humble self, and a book would be great!
I agree with that it took me ages to listen to their songs again just after Robin died I was hoping to meet him before that and see the Bee Gees in Concert I've got a feeling we are all family to Barry and not just fans of his now
My gosh... We LOVE LOVE LOVE Barry Gibb and the Bee Gees!! What a legend, fabulous voice, such a humble and great personality. 🙏🏻❤️ Great interview too.
Can I just say they I LOVE it when Barry laughs and snorts ?? lol so cute and makes me laugh right song w him. It’s moments like that, that makes an icon seem just like any other friend you may have irl. 😂❤️
Thank you for sharing this interview. I love the Bees Gees. I admire Sir Barry Gibb charismatic, smart, talented, gifted with strong minded, generous, humble more.
best sunday entertainment with a humble and down to earth Barry "Effin" Gibb in conversation with Geoff Edgers in a very good mood - what a Sunday afternoon 🔥☺️
Barry is such an awesome man and entertainer. Would love to see him in concert if he ever does one again. Would love to meet this awesome man. Love you Barry ❤️
Barry, Are you calling the book you are working on, "A MILLION MOMENTS"? The thought of it gave me goose bumps. I love you and your beautiful family. You have added so much joy to my life through your music. Thank you!
Aside from the incredible, phenomenal talent, Barry is a kind and generous soul. His lovely, calm demeanor and infectious giggle is so heartwarming! Love 💕 this amazing man!
I have Loved the Bee Gees since I was a teenie bopper so this makes me so happy.. Barry is such a kind and gentle soul... Was so glad to get Green Fields even though it made me cry happy tears... Such a legend in the music world , although they did not always get the credit they deserved.. Disco will always be a major part of my teen years because of the Bee Gees and Andy Gibb... I wish I had been able to see them in concert just once , but that is why we have albums ....
I love his laugh! At times, Maurice laughed the same way. My goodness! Let Sir Barry speak! At times, he couldn't finish his responses. I wanted to see his father's picture on the album cover.
I would Love LOVE LOVE to hear Maurice's version of Hold Her in Your Hand remastered adding the steel guitar! Love the song and his smooth soft voice. We never heard enough of him on his own. A true late 60s early 70s country Bee Gees remastered album would be FANTASTIC!!! #Not_afraid_to_BEEGEE! #Hold_Her_in_Your_Hand #Don't_Forget_to_Remember #Railroad 👐🚂
Sir Barry is a humble man. It so kind of you Sir Barry to take a hour to take to all the fan like me. I remember when you come back in 1993 the show One night only . Now i can see anytime on U tube. Remember me a great time. Thank you for Greenfield . Is so great to see you again. Love you song so much.
I really hope Barry gets to get out and do some touring again, even if it's limited. Wish I could see it, but my health doesn't tolerate flashing stage lights.
Ell Gee 0 seconds ago Awesome interview! It was Like Barry was having a sit down visit with just me. I also have found Barry to be humble. I luv him just the way he is.
Barry would be a Great instructor at any learning institution in music progression. He has an incredible amount knowledge about how music developed over the decades. He could be an Honorary Professor and be awarded an Honorary Degree to teach!!!
The Bee Gees didn't know how to read music, yet they were masters at writing songs. They were blessed with creativity, spiritualism, romanticism and instinctive musical harmony. I have been a major fan of theirs for nearly 50 years. Although they have a huge following, I feel they really deserve more accolades than they have received from the music industry. They should be recognized & remembered for their musical impact and longevity just as Elvis, the Beatles, & Michael Jackson.
Incredible interview! Always loved all The Bee Gees. Such a beautiful humble man with incredible integrity. My heart breaks for for the pain he holds over the loss of his brothers. You will meet again Barry and the Angels will sit back and enjoy your concert.
To think if Arif Mardin never asked for one of the brothers to go and scream high in nights on Broadway we may never have seen their brilliant Night Fever Album. Funnily enough Mardin is not one to take credit " Everyone credits me but he was doing it, I just asked him to keep doing it" he said in the documentary, but his influence obviously allowed the Bee Gees to become The Bee Gees we all know and love today.
Five Decades says It all they are whithout any daught the best band ever ever ever!!!nobody can match them in thisr Planet .God Bless You!!!!!!!!!!!!🖤❤️
I must say very give what a beautiful soul of a man and a heart like no other I want to thank you and your brothers for all the beautiful music you gave to us and I know the pain of losing your sibling my hot goes out to you but don't even stop thinking music
On some of Robins later concerts once Mo had passed and he was touring alone, the music at times truly drowned him out. Or his Mic wasn't turned up enough. So a through sound check would have caught that. I Adore Robin, and his voice has No peers to me!! ( But Robin wasn't always good at handling the details. Oh, well!😁) Miss him and Mo so very much.
@@piastruck6190 Correct. But in the end it was on Robin to do a final sound check. That's where I'm at on this. Btw...I am a HUGE Robin fan. I heard Robin caught some real flack about his album Magnet? Or maybe it was the promotion of it?🤔 Anyways, somebody stated that Barry knew production and would always over-see the process and he would have never have let something go out like that? Robin wasn't a detailed person in the same way Barry was, but he should have over-seen and called the shots himself when something wasn't up to par. But of course after Mo died, well Robin was all over the damn place, trying to out-run the pain. So he was touring round the clock and I guess he just trusted those he hired to get it right? Rip Robin and Mo.💔
@@gloriamaryhaywood2217 he could have made the adjustment on stage too. I'm sure they had a sound team that new where things were supposed to be. anyone could have made sure his mic was loud enough. and BARRY was the one that had the problem with the Wish You Were Here Song that Robin did as a tribute to his Twin Brother who died. Tough shit Barry, back off- it was his Twin, His tribute, His album and his fans LOVED the version. Pick your battles controlling big Bro. let him have the version. it helped him so it should not have been made into a huge deal. that's where I'm at on the whole deal
@@piastruck6190 No way was the song "Wish You Were Here" re-done as a tribute to Robins twin brother. Mo died Jan. 12, 2003. This album Magnet was released on Jan. 22, 2003. So that track had to have been laid down way before, along with all the other songs when recording the Magnet album. Yes, I know that Barry was very upset that Robin had included that particular song on his new album. I think that since it was agreed among them that the song was a tribute to Andy, their younger brother who had passed away in 1988, that Barry took offense that Robin would include it in? But of course Robin had every right to include it in, as he helped to write it. I'm not surprised Barry became un-glued over it though. Once Mo was gone then the man-in-the-middle was gone, and things really intensified between Barry and Robin. Robin reached out over and over to his big brother, Barry, but for whatever reasons Barry pretty much shut him out. Very SAD. I wish so much Robin could have been spared the pain of losing his twin, and then the abandonment by Barry. Robin was in a world of hurt with losing Mo. I think Barry clearly saw how shook up he was and took advantage of his vulnerable condition. It's hard for me to get past that. In fact, I find myself unable to forgive Barry for that. It seemed calculated and very cold hearted.
I'd love to meet barry gibb one day, when his brothers died a part of me died too. They are all immortal though, as long as a i breathe they will live with me like the family and friends i've lost.
I'm loving this interview and enjoying listening. Barry enjoy your family. When you have a great grand child its wonderful. I have five greats the first two are identical twin girls two great grandsons a year apart and aone year old.
The best reactor to Bee Gees music is Chad Summers. Alot of those reactors come across as ignorant and phony. I am very selective about Bee Gees reactions, being a fan of theirs for almost 50 years.
I was shocked to hear Barry say that he was the only one who wanted Andy in the band. Bombshell. In other interviews I got a sense that Robin wasn't thrilled about Andy joining but it wasn't said outright.
So enjoyed this interview!!! Thank you very much!!! I’m sorry I don’t know your name! I’ve lived in Boston & the Boston area in the past! No, I’m from Philadelphia area… I love Boston and outlying areas! And I love the song, Massachusetts!
I agree with him, not enough real music and singing anymore. That's what I loved about them...they always sounded the same on their albums as they did in concerts or on shows. Absolutely brilliant men. Where can I find this documentary they talk about?
same here I hear he was so cute and handsome when he was a kid same with Maurice and Robin too wow I miss them didn't get to go to my first Bee Gees concert after they both died when Robin went I was sad for about a week that hit me hard because I felt like the three of them had become like part of my family at that point
Hope someday, that Barry makes it to West Virginia,🙄since he loves good country sounds. Everything country isn't all about Kentucky,Barry! And, remember,we in West Virginia love ya, 💕 too.
