For the second part of Karak Eight Peaks Weeks, we'll be diving into the maps and geography of the hold itself to understand the battlefields and territories making up Vala-Azrilungol. Hope you all enjoy!
Could you make a video, where you explain the logistics in terms of food nutrition for the dwarfs? I can't imagine that it's so easy to get supplies when you're surrounded with greenskins and Skaven 24/7
No. The matters of logistics are not illuminated on in Warhammer almost ever. How are Chaos hordes so large? How do the Dwarves and High Elves have horrible losses constantly yet always remain at "dwindling strength"?
at least in the case of the chaos hordes, it really is the dark gods supplying them, if reality bends when they want it to, snacks are pretty easy to come by.
@@khelgarironfist3301 do you mean like tunnel warfare and descending great ramps and fortified barricades. Giant halls of pillars. No there are not but that is necessary for the true eight peaks not all siege battles
This is a very interesting idea for a video. It also shows how badly we NEED a good, expansive and detailed RPG game. Imagine being able to experience playing as a Dawi, Skaven or Greenskin character fighting for places such as this. It'd be beyond amazing.
@@taranoreilly5101 That would be another good idea. Total War but the sieges of Karaks and cities have multiple layers to them. I personally think that being an individual who could witness the sheer scale of the Warhammer world would just have a bigger impact on the player. Maybe mixing Total War with an RPG could bring all the benefits. You create a character, experience a story, build an army/stronghold from where you can besiege these other factions. In each battle you can choose to provide tactics to your forces (similar to Total War) and then switch to a first or third person view (like in the Elder Scrolls) where you play as your own character.
A rpg game of taking over karak eight peaks, play as greenskins, dwarfs or skaven. Mount and blade rts inspired combat and overworld intrigue but heavy into the core of warhammer than mount.
Fantastic stuff! When I begin yet another inevitable Dwarf Mortal Empires campaign, you will replace any music as the soundtrack :D It was amazing that Dwarf Librarians are called Loremasters! I hope they will one day add Dwarf Librarians as the most cantankerous grudgemasters of them all :D
AoS does a few things right, such as making the Dwarves into badass Steampunk Rogue Traders, but nothing can truly replace the wonder, mystery, and ultimately sorrow of the old Karaz Ankgor, the original Dwarven Empire.
Excellent video - I had no idea of the actual scale of the threeway war for the Eight Peaks. Its astonishing to think you have so many Skaven living under your hold if I were to be a Dwarf living there :P Cant wait for "secret" new LL video ;)
This shows just how well fleshed out the world that was well was. It's why we miss it and why age of $h!tmar is not equal. There is more back story on individual characters than in the whole of the reboot.
@@ericjohnson7234 bear in mind Martin still has not released the winds of winter or the planned book 7. I think what that series suffered from was Hollywood hacks running out of road and going free style. Although… there was the way they handled the Dornish….
@@mikewaterfield3599 true, this is why only true lore masters should handle the stories, if a writer who has spent his entire life making a master piece dies, then some blow hard who wants money comes in to take over, will always without fail, fail.
@@ericjohnson7234 kinda how I feel about whatever the hell that streaming service is going to do to Tolkien's work. what became the Simarillion was never supposed to be published. That and the political agenda rumors ive heard..... well my favorite metaphor about toddlers finger painting with feces on masterpieces comes to mind.
@@mikewaterfield3599 i agree both sides of the issue are real problems, that need to fought in order to save what was once great, or such petty shit, it sickens me
I really thought the king and the warlord was going to be a mini campaign or even just adding more levels to the base campaign of the eight peaks. But I can still dream
Just wanted to comment and thank you for these. Been on a binge. Just finished taking back Kara Eight Peaks with Belegar Ironhammer last night. It felt really good haha. Now to secure the entire province and go on the offensive against Clan Mors who want peace because I'm about to roflstomp them into oblivion.
Doubtful, I feel that it wouldn't work out unless that entire section of the map was redesigned, in theory you could have the three factions start in minor settlements of the Eight Peak provinces, but factions that start in minor Settlements tend to get killed too quickly for it to be satisfying.
The enginners create much more advanced machines than in the past, such as gyrocopters, ironclads, zeppelings, troll-hammer torpedoes, steam powered drills... But yeah, in everything else the golden age dwarves were better.
@@gabriel300010 nah, the food was better in those days. I think about it this way. You know Bugman's ale, the famous dwarf ale that is the absolute best of all? Well, in the Golden Age, Bugman probably would have only been a intermediate brewer, because he was so outclassed by the various ancient brews.
