University of Arizona Geoscience PhD students Caden Howlett and Chance Ronemus recently completed a ten-week field season in the south-central Andes of South America (31-36S). This video provides an informal camp tour and will hopefully be helpful for any person who conducts field research (or simply enjoys camping). Please reach out with any geology-related questions and I hope you enjoy the video.
Our work is part of an interdisciplinary effort to understand the geologic evolution of the Andean mountain belt (TANGO; the “Trans ANdean Great Orogeny”). Funding for this research is provided by the Frontier Research in Earth Sciences (FRES) program and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
