Personally if a creator is hosting a collab and drops the level then the other creators are well within their rights to pick it back up and finish the level, people need to realise that you don’t earn money from making a good level so it may as well be finished so the creators’ efforts don’t go to waste and the community gets the level they were waiting for.

No idea why anyone would actually respect his wishes just because he hosted it. That’s dumb as fuck, “sorry guys I know you poured your heart and soul into this level and spent tons of time working on it, now I’m giving up on it and your a meanie if you try to continue making it” if anything it’s not disrespectful to continue the project, it’s disrespectful to ask a large group of people to throw their hard work in the garbage simply because he said so.

this was a big deal back then because fusion series were best levels in this game. now that these series feel forgotten i feel like people wont realise how big of a deal this was really. the only levels that could have stood up to fusion were something like boj and osiris. it really had nothing to be compared with.

What a petty situation, Manix literally surrendered the level. Also a collab doesn't have an owner, it can have a host and an uploader. If the host gives up hosting, they no longer have any rights over the level.

Lots have already said it but your content is really good. You research the topic well, well informed, unbiased, well edited videos too, and great audio quality as well!

I remember back in the days I considered this level as a pillar, one of the few first XL extreme demons that looked impossible with Yatagarasu and another one I forgot (maybe it was when Blade of Justice had just been announced in a SEA1997's video), I was so excited to its release. Damn I didn't know the real story that happened after, that sucks, there was so much hype for the old version

This is such a great video! It kept me hooked the entire time, not just because Fusion Z and Molten Gear are some of my favs, but because the storytelling and music you put together was just SUPER cool and entertaining. Super underrated video, keep doing what you're doing ✊

For some reason, the biggest level stealing drama for me is one of the levels called instinct because there are literally two different estimated extreme demons that are very similar to each other and have the same part of krmal like dude why. But still the video is great, keep it up man

personally, i think that once other people have built on a collab you hosted, it's not "yours" anymore. sure, you could request them to remove YOUR part specifically, but if people want to do something with their parts, you dont have the right to stop them.

Personally it would be disrespectful for someone outside the core team to steal the level and verify it, but I feel that knobbelboy has a case because he was a part of the core team. I was one of the people who sided with knob back in the day.

I feel all of this would be solved if hosts would make some sort of agreement before shoving people in (Not like a full on contract, but at least a verbal/written agreement), that way the answer of if they're allowed to do this or not can be boiled down to checking what the agreement says. If you don't have any sort of agreement in regards of what the creators can do with their parts, you quite literally have nothing to adhere to that prevents them from using it for their own purposes, and you cannot just bring it out of your sleeve at random and have everyone agree to it.

I mean, he can wish not to want the level to be associated with him anymore, but he can't ask for it to die out and let all of the effort the creators put in it go to waste, he doesn't own the work that they put so he doesn't have any authority over it. That being said, creators themselves can rightfully ask for their part to be removed, I just find it kind of silly that they did it solely because of Manix's request which quite frankly seems kinda selfish to me, maybe there's some external reason for it but I still don't find it quite right Either way I think Knobbelboy was in the right here, Manix didn't have any rights to ask for everyone's hard work to be erased

I remember this drama a lot -This caused a lot of stuff, like crazen stealing bloodlust and justifying it with a taste with its own medicine -Also manix was getting tired because of lots of verifiers dropping the level, i remember some of the verifiers back in the day, like surv, hequinox and some more that are probably forgotten a long time ago Really good video i got in my recommended

Bruh why the hell would manix be so annoying, like he can stop working and move himself away from the project if he wants to, but you can’t just stop other people from continuing it without you after that. Anyone else would be glad to see people caring about your level so much. The fact that he had him change the name, remove his parts and insist it isn’t part of his series is so unnecessary.

It feels kinda childish that just because the host doesn’t like the game anymore, that every other creators work is a waste. I’ll never understand why manix was so butthurt about a level in a game he doesn’t even play anymore

Very slight edit: you mentioned progress was halted, but never specified why. Big reason was that nobody was actually willing to see the verification through. It was given to a good number of the best players at the time, including Surv, Trusta, and Sunix, and they all dropped the level after a little bit. I don't believe it was necessarily because it was astronomically hard, either, just that the level itself was simply unfun and extremely annoying to them. I forget the number of players the level went through, but at some point Manix realized either he had to seriously nerf the level to get it verified (like Blade of Justice) or the level would never see the light of day. So he just dropped it. And then the whole controversy with Knobbelboy happened. Back then, and even now, I sided with Knobbelboy pretty wholeheartedly. After all, Manix may have gathered everyone to make this level, but that didn't necessarily make every single creation his property. It felt selfish to just drop something that was already completed by all means and try to prevent it from ever being released, especially when other people were involved. It was on a similar level as Mefewe refusing to allow Sonic Wave Infinity, a level he had no part in creating, to be verified by anyone else, despite Serponge and Funnygame both down with someone else getting the level verified. And though I agreed with the resolution that came out (drop the creators that didn't want their parts released and keep the ones that wanted to see it through, and change the level name), I still wonder why the whole conflict was even necessary to begin with.

I side with Knobbleboy. First time the level is absolutely amazing and just to let it die was unfair to all the creators that spent their time working on it. And I feel like it’s fair game for any creator that took part of it to try to continue finishing it if the host is giving up all rights to the level. I see it as an open verification. The host or creator of the level that has a open verification is giving the right to any serious verifiers to modify or change the level if they are capable of successfully verifying it.

I think you failed to mention a big reason why Manix decided to cancel Fusion Z in the first place - everyone who tried to verify it ended up dropping it, and it was in a very similar situation to another Manix level, Blade of Justice. The original version of Fusion Z was completed in late 2016, before 2.1 even came out, and now all that was left was to get it verified, but that proved to be far easier said than done because for its time, Fusion Z was way too fucking hard primarily due to its crushing length. Over the course of almost a year the level was stuck in verification hell with it being passed between Surv, DiamondSplash and ChiefFlurry (I can't remember if there were any other players who verification was assigned to), all of whom ended up dropping the level, with ChiefFlurry just kinda sitting on it and not making any progress for a really long time. Of course, extreme demon verifications lasting almost or over a year aren't that uncommon nowadays, but this was a much different time where 2.1 was still a fresh update and extreme demons were generally expected to be verified in a relatively quick amount of time lest they end up falling behind newer levels both in terms of style and their potential place on the demon list. Manix had already had a bit of trauma around this sort of thing with Blade of Justice, which after being passed between like 7 different verifiers fell in the hands of RicoLP, who had to nerf it significantly in order to verify it before the level turned one year old, sacrificing Manix's original vision of it being a top 1 demon in favour of being ranked at #23 on the demon list. What I think happened is that Manix did not want Fusion Z suffering the same fate of being nerfed, and thus decided it would be better off cancelling what he saw as an outdated level (by this point we were 10 months into 2.1 and Fusion Z was a 2.0 level) over nerfing it just to get it verified.
