It was his voice here that made a massive impression on Bon Scott and he told the band about Brian. Previously he didn't sing with that pitch. After Bon died they asked Brian to audition and the rest is history
umm..bur this is previously and he IS singing what that pitch? I thought the same from what I heard but this is way prior to his audition and he sounds more or less the same.
And the irony is that he stopped "singing" when he got to ACDC and within 3 albums he completely destroyed his voice and was never the same again after Flick of the Switch. He should have continued to SING like he did in Geordie and saved his voice for DECADES to come instead of a mere 3-4 years.
This sounds like a complete joke. Had this been released to the rock music audience on a grand scale back around 1980, it would've been career suicide for him
I saw Geordie around 3 years ago when 2 of the original guys reformed. The singer at that point is a friend who also sings in an AC/DC cover band. Both bands are amazing…
@@charlesgallagher1376 I agree but Brian Johnson would still have made it big in the Rock business. If AC/DC scouted him he was obviously on the radar of Rock.
@@petegalloway2466 actually, Brian had largely given up on it if you watch his interviews, saying playing in Geordie had pretty much left him penniless. That, and he thought at age 32 he was past his prime. That hoover commercial he did, and that random phone call to audition, changed his life.
@@Danimal77 I honestly think that if they tuned the songs down and Brian tried to come out of Acdc mode nowadays it would be better, but I don't know his exact situation in terms of vocal health so it's just a thought
@@Danimal77... did you hear "Killing Floor" that was just released a few days ago by Slash on his channel, featuring Brian Johnson? - his vocals are still great
@@Danimal77or maybe be trained his voice in a completely different vocal style for nearly 40 years, thus making it difficult to change the way he sings.
Why did I see an interview with Brian saying that after he recorded his vocals for back in black he was worried that he sang too high and that he was going to be fired. This song sounds like he got his balls cut off….I’m confused.
With such a voice, impossible not to a rock star, one of the 3 best rock singer. Thanks Brian for all these moments even if i prefer your voice with AC.DC.
Without the hat it's amazing how he has the same look that Bon did. Duh, not exactly but close. It's probably just the fashion of the day that does it.

What a nice looking young man I`m sure he won`t be the lead singer of the greatest band ever, and write the songs for the second best selling album in history
@@martymartin2894 first of all, you replied after 2 years Second of all, he did write them, cry all you want, Back In Black up to Blow Up Your Video are all Brian's lyrics
I thought the same exact thing when I heard it. 🤯 It's like a really early rough draft demo of a song that would eventually become "Shook Me All Night Long".
Ive been reading Brians Book the Lives of Brian will do a Review for it sometime. This song is OK, Like the fact that there are Mostly Girls around them But many of those Girls don't seem too into it. maybe it was a New Song & they didn't know it.
I had to go watch the official Back in Black video. Man you hit hard on that one. Very tough. And Malcolm was a great fking songwriter. The best. That album still kicks my ass.
@@trucker8666 bon scott is my favorite vocalist and acdc is my favorite band.. if u were the same u would know damn well those arent his lyrics. those lyrics were meant to be sung by brian johnson. the tone changed completely. it didnt have the zest of bon but it had the grit of brian
Brian and Bon were the perfect voices for ACDC . Bon was not only one of the greatest but picked Brian unknowingly. Genius knows Genius To ME they were the Beatles
