Thank you! I think I said this last time but I love the interviews with the side characters in these cases! It really gives a full picture. Appreciate you getting these.
Agreed! And it shows an ordinary people, an ordinary evening can go south in a flash. The ordinary suddenly extraordinary ..extremely SAD gosh, what are the odds this can happen to anyone of us? I’m still awaiting the conclusion, and who is behind this mom’s murder..
This is so intriguing to me because so many people were speculating and putting their assumptions towards Doug being guilty. Really really scary when you think about it..... but it's great to see all of the interrogations or interviews for the bias and perspective and varied viewpoints.
They are the same thing as a holistic doctor. Someone who treats stuff they have zero clue how to treat and throws a bunch of nonsense at the problem until the person seeks help from an actual Dr / dentist
Oh that weapon should not be unsnapped or anywhere near that interrogation room. They should change that Protocol. Definitely not Safe. This should be a lesson for all of us not to blame people until we get all the evidence. It could ruin people’s lives and reputation and affect their employment. Poor Nikki
Okay I zoomed in after commenting. Are you talking about the gun holstered to his hip? They make it difficult for citizens to take it out I believe. Like there’s a certain way you have to do it
@@emilytrahan3170 - Oh hunny, you must not own guns and holsters. A citizen could easily rip that gun out of his holster, it's only a button snap like on a purse or wallet.
I've worked in law enforcement for over 30 years and I've never taken my weapon into an interview room. It's basic protocol at every dept I've worked at including federal LE. I'm not sure how they allow this but it's not a good idea.
@@emilytrahan3170 yes, retention holsters exist but they are not great. I used one one night only. Helped the DEA with a raid and we thought the house was clear. I was walking thru the house to the door when I rounded a corner and had a MAC 10 pointed at me. I had holstered my weapon and spent everal seconds trying to draw it back out. No luck. I stopped and pointed my finger at the man and said " drop that right now!"...for some reason he did. Thank God everyone stayed hole free that night. Clearly I have a magic right pointer finger. Sadly it does not work on my children.
This was really interesting. You can see the tendency toward confirmation bias with this individual. I watched this trial, and I don’t recall hearing testimony about how Nicole was somewhat reckless (as her ex noted in this interview). I understand not blaming the victim, certainly, but it explains her tendency to go off with someone like Burch.
Also, not victim blaming, but she sounds like a floozy. Running off with Jamaican guys, cheating on the ex husband, needing a paternity test, running off with George Birch.....
The description box above has plenty of background information already. Most of us who seek out interrogations prefer to see the footage without voiceover.
Ask the 'ex' about the 'next'. And expect unbiased opinion. "I heard from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend that Doug was a bad dude". After listening to this fellow, I get the impression that Nicole was a 'man-user'. He says she wasn't serious about him but they had 2 kids. Then 2 months into Doug, she comes up pregnant. Wonder if she was on the make the night she got killed....on the make with the wrong dude, that is. Plus, this man is still reeling from losing her and seems like he sought her validation...wake up men!! Gals like this are your worst nightmare. They come into your life, drop some kids then take off with another. Says he called her but she never called him. Then states they had some 'good talks' after they split up. Wow!!! Hate to say it but her leaving was maybe a good thing. And it turns out she was her own worst enemy to boot.
I sure hope they only use this investigator for those they KNOW are innocent bc there’s no way he’s picking up any type of clues being so laser focused on his typing/laptop. Love this channel btw RI, you’ll have 100k subs in no time. Keep up the great work! ❤
He's not to be swept under the rug. He is extremely jealous, don't like the divorce, and in that, has pegged Doug a wife beater and drug addict. I didn't see that at all with Doug in fitting that criteria, and his remorse being legit, whereas I don't see any with this guy. I mean the kids lost a Mom. He is doing a lot of nervous fidgeting. She divorced this guy for a reason. I don't like his demeanor at all.
Regardless of the initial arrest of Detrie, the investigators need a big hand and kudos. I mean how many other vids have we seen of police tunneling in on a suspect then disregarding/fitting evidence to their theory. And following the evidence openly led them to realise (uk spelling) their mistake. Burch was breathing easy when they arrested Doug, then probably had several conniptions when they released him. Mind racing stomach in a knot and extreme tiredness coupled with paranoia in an interview/interrogation room. Good luck Burch. Can't wait to see it all. Thanks RI
Uhhh what? They literally put Doug in jail before getting any DNA results back. Imagine being put in jail for 18 days after your girlfriend was just killed. I don’t think people really understand how brutal jail. I was there for 3 days and it was the absolute worst. Not waiting for any results to come in before arresting Doug almost gave George a case to walk free. Thankfully the jury didn’t let poor investigation allow George to walk free.
The jury was the hero’s being willing to overlook the fact the investigators were 100% positive it was Doug to the point they jailed him. I didn’t think they could even hold someone longer than 48 hours with zero evidence. Crazy
I know this guy has nothing to do with it but he’s acting totally guilty! He’s given motive and everything 😂 all that extra talking and then his comment about how the body looked!
I like the side character interviews. I'm an acquaintance of one of the dudes who was questioned, but only saw blips and blurbs about the investigation until these full videos were posted.
