*Thank you guy! This is the start of a new channel and RU-vid journey, so if you like this video HIT that thumbs up and subscribe! What should I react to next?*
If you like Carlin (and it looks like you do) then you'd probably like: -Richard Pryor -Bill Hicks -Lenny Bruce -Jim Jefferies -Bill Burr -Lewis Black -Patrice O'neal -Christopher Titus
If you want to hear him sorta rap for the opening of one of his specials he kinda did. It should be called "modern man". Also two other ones that are really good are "Dumb americans" and "Rights"
@@ComedyFace1 Airport Security, Swearing to God, Soft Language, Advertizing and bs, People are boring, Dumb Americans and the Ten Commandments. Carlin had no shortage of great content. If nothing else, these specials, Save the planet, and Religion is bs(which you have watched), are all on the must watch list.
If you like rapping then you will love George Carlin’s “Advertising and Bullshit” and “Food advertising”. He basically raps in both videos and they are brilliant!😂😂😂😂
I think of George as being part comedian, part philosopher. He wanted to make you THINK as much as he wanted you to laugh. He didn't invent this style of comedy (you can find it throughout history, he's like a court jester of old) but he DID help to bring it back in the modern day. Every stand-up comic working today owes a debt to George Carlin, Richard Pryor, and Lenny Bruce.
Scru, you NEED to watch Modern Man by Carlin. As a lyricist you will be absolutely blown away by the cadence and writing in that panel. It's a must watch. Much love homie!
Check out his 10 Commandments list, he goes through and cuts it down to two. It's beautiful. Also his bit about Rights. It's at the very end of his career, and he's still crushing it. Also also, yeah, women screw up too, but they tend to not cause a whole lot of collateral damage with their mistakes.
There's one school of prayer(not literally) that is just communing with God, not trying to bargain with him or get him to change something, but just basking in his presence.
“Ho-ly shit.” That’s a bar! 😂 I’m w you 100% SF. Great comedians are totally like great rappers. Similar balance of reality and satire, persona vs the individual. And they often illuminate powerful insights in punchlines!
Atheism was never really his selling point. And it shouldn't be for you either. Or anyone. To cite the great man himself, "keep thy religion to thyself".
@@jessezamora2416it is a religion, you are still believing in something. this is what atheists try to do to spread their beliefs, they say it is proven therefore it is not a religion, however there is no proof of evolution or the existence of the big bang
I still remember when Scru said that the people who know more about religion are those who aren't religious.... which is very true as I am not religious but find religion absolutely fascinating. btw, I'm not religious but I am agnostic.
It also makes you wonder if there is/are a god/gods out there, maybe the ancient Greeks were on to something, worshiping them out of fear for what they would do.
Ricky Gervaise has some of the best arguments for a theological debate in his interview on the Colbert Report. Drops some heavy bars, and I think you'd dig it.
I watch a shit ton of reaction content on here. So let's just say you're not the 1st person I have seen react to this. But good sir you are the best. Idk how many people I have seen get so bent and upset over this. You are the 1st to actually get it! Thank you!!!
Same ... I've always felt that if your belief isn't strong enough to take a joke then your faith isn't that strong ... I enjoy having conversations with different views can't expect someone to understand your side if your not willing to hear their side if God's real or not were still all brothers and sisters either way
I met George Carlin back in 1992 when he performed at my college, and I worked on the Campus Activity Board. Very brief meeting to check that he was comfortable and had what he needed...but I still talked with him. He started his show with "the seven words you can't say on TV." As he wrapped up those words, the VP of the college - some Emily Post worshipping, white-haired bouffant wearing prude, draped with a pearl necklace - immediately walked out of the show. Presumably, because she was offended. I stayed and enjoyed the show.
You are so lucky! He played my university while I was in grad school. He ended the show with euphemisms for masturbation... there were a particular two that make me laugh to this day: "slapping the clown" and the rather philosophical, "shaking hands with the homeless".
Also, hilarious about the lady who got offended by Carlin's comedy. She did it before being offended became a profession. I can't help but wonder what she's up to these days.
I don't know if someone said it in the comments, but Joe Pesci was in the audience that night. It's been fun watching you react to comedians and non-music stuff. Keep it up, dude.
I found you because of your reaction to George Carlin's "Saving the Planet" bit. You're a fantastic reactor and I feel like we react the same way when seeing something for the first time lmfaooo. Anything George Carlin is worth reacting to!
The 10 commandments is to protect us from ourselves. Just think about them. Its about not doing harm to others and not doing things that will end up harming u.
Just a heads-up, you did misspell Joe Pesci in the chapter titles, but thank you for reminding me of this glorious video! Carlin was truly one of the greatest!
Scru you are getting in a level that you are so loved that your camera can't keep up at We are a lot of people that we really do LOVE you so keep your camera up with it loll
You can see air. Next time you have some large body of water nearby, cup your hands and enclose the space between them, leaving an open pocket in the middle of your hands. Then stick both hands, holding the pocket closed, below the waterline and open your hands. You will see air in the form of bubbles.
I just kinda stumbled on you. And I've gotta say this I love watching you watching something besides politics. Carlin does a great routine about them. Anyway, you make me feel like there's a friend watching w/me. Thank you and I've subscribed.
man I grew up on george carlin and people wonder why im so cynical . Its crazy but its true. Love your reactions love both channels. Just big love keep it going my dude. Listened to your Village boy last week for the first time. 🔥
How to measure a volume of air: *_First Method_* 1) Drink a full bottle of *[enter beverage of preference here]* 2) Read the label to find the capacity of the bottle (ounces, millilitres, whatever) 3) You have successfully put that much air into that bottle. 4) Congratulations, you've measured air! *_Second Method_* 1) Get a small, sensitive digital scale, preferably which measures in milligrams. 2) Weigh an empty balloon. Note the weight. 3) Blow up the balloon. 4) Weigh the balloon again. Note the weight. 5) Subtract the first weight from the second weight. Congratulations, you've measured air!
The worst is when people thank God when they win awards and stuff. Like no, that was your blood sweat and tears going into it. YOU did that bro give yourself the credit damn....
Istg, you are the first youtuber to react to this bit who knows who Joe Pesci is. Everytime I see reactions to this clip people are always like "Who tf is Joe Peshi?"
in later years carlin became a philosopher with flow more than a stand up comic. his comedy started like the ravings of a mad man until he became that mad man raving.
Gods plan is easily the most improperly spoken on thing in religion because its been taken to literal by Christians themselves. It’s more like the telltale games of your familiar. There are certain events that will happen our lives no matter what. How does things happen is up to you tho. It could go great, it could go bad, and depending on how you handle things leading up to it. It will shape how good or bad the ending that’s even possible is. That is the most accurate depiction of gods plan.
his biography he wrote shortly before his death is gold. Because as much as he was a truthteller and amazing funny human being, he was a menace.....he is very honest in the book and it is brilliant. Sadly he died before they could do an audio version. I would have loved that. George Carlin on Time and Abortion are extremely good pieces as well......like so many bits. I have all there is to find about him (hyperfixation) and you will enjoy more of him. Rapper? Listen to "I am a modern man" from him. It´s from one of his latest shows and his way with words is fire.
i would recomend bo burnham from either the make happy special or inside it blends comedy and music very well i think you would enjoy it scru much love
I hear nothing but BARS. No wonder he got a don demarco. BTW, I'm a big fan of u Scru for about half a decade now. I still remember u reacting to dem old ksi vids back in the days bro. Congrats on being a dad now man. It just made my day, after finging out after all these years that u were also a fellow non-believer like me dawg. Big ups, and love from India bro. ❤
If you want to see him "rap" anything, he's got his Advertising Lullaby bit, as well as his Modern Man bit. He gets a lot of rightful praise, but this man has some crazy monologues that make you realize just how well written he is in general. He could probably outwrite almost anyone.
When you said he's like a rapper, i remembered that I've watched couple of interviews with comedian that said he's a literal master of controlling the crowd and how when he was working out these jokes in the comedy store he would even say to the crowd when to laugh=))) and if you notice he's talking fast so you have to listen carefully and when you stops even for a moment, it's him allowing the crowd to laugh. So he is controlling the crowds laugh flow without them knowing and it's crazy. So yeah, it's literally more of a stage monologue and musical performance than stand-up.
You are absolutely right. We did not deserve Carlin. It's only now at 40 that I realize how much his standup shaped my world views in a lot of ways. Standup was very important in my family. We were always watching the HBO specials. I think I was 6 the first I heard the 7 words you can't say on television.
Been a George Carlin fan for decades now and in love how people today are able to still be educated by him By the way since you are a music fan as well as an atheist you may want to react to Tim Minchin. Particularly how song Thank you God. Keep up the great content
Ja, you have a very good point about being able to measure air, and FEEL the air... it's time for people to grow up and get past RELIGION, it's holding us back as a species! You know it makes sense Please keep the Carlin coming and remember to look into Mr. Bill Hicks.... Dankeschoen BTW, I don't shine shoes anymore either, heh heh heh... GREAT reaction, Mein Herr😁
