As someone who has never voted Republican in my life I have followed George Conway on Twitter for years with intense fascination. His ability to put country before party and reach voters like myself (on the Bernie end of the spectrum) without disavowing his core conservative principles fascinates and impresses me. Bravo, George, for reaching far beyond an ideological spectrum and recognizing the value of a shared American ethos that bonds us together.

Dismissing jurisdiction arguments is convenient. It's not as black-and-white as Conway makes it out to be. There are serious questions about whether New York has the authority to prosecute federal election matters. Ignoring these nuances just shows a lack of depth.

Conway blames the defense's disorganization? Maybe because the case was so politically charged, no defense could have overcome the bias. When your case relies on unreliable testimony, it's easy to criticize the defense instead of the prosecution's shortcomings.

Can’t believe there’s not a rue where if you appoint a judge, said judge in no way should be presiding over that persons case! Obviously there’s going to be problems, she should be fined and thrown off the bench indefinitely for not recusing herself! Bless you sir! That's the first reasonable of sound mind Republican I've heard speak in a very long time. There needs to be more like you. As I've stressed to friends and family time and time again, for me it's not about one side or the other. I don't care about Democrats and Republicans, I vote for what I believe is best for us all not just the entitled few. And last I checked a felon was not permitted to hold any office, ever.
