George is the hero of this show. He puts up with Sheldon's ridiculous crap, his wife's crap, Georgie's crap and still tries to do right by everyone.

And in return, he’s made out to be an awful, dim-witted person in TBBT. And Sheldon has the nerve to narrate how he wished he had let his dad know how much he appreciated him before he died when he never gave us the impression before.

Add in to George's burden, his mother-in-law Connie, and her miserable attitude, and comments, along with his associates at school, and the team boosters. The man has a full plate. Having had a southern father, raised by his dirt poor, but noble, share cropper fraternal grandparents, in the pre-depression South, and having witnessed how many, NOT ALL, southern fathers react to the type of nonsense these family members generate, Mary should have 2 blackeyes and no teeth, Connie as well, if not already over the limit, and buried somewhere out in the hill country of West Texas. As to Georgie Jr., and Sheldon, they would have enough knots on their respective skulls to be leased out as tools or teaching aids, to a school class on phrenology, or the reading of the lumps on your head in order to predict your future behavior. Understand something, I am not condoning this type of fatherly behavior, but you have to admit that biblically speaking George Sr. has MORE PATIENCE THAN JOBE HAD IN THE BIBLE!!!!! AGAIN I AM NOT CONDONING THAT TYPE OF BEHAVIOR, HOWEVER I WOULD UNDERSTAND IT, AND ENJOY SEEING IT DONE!!! LOL, LOL 😆!!!

@Christopher Bingham In no filming context do the actors in a FICTIONAL fight actually hit each other. Not even when the blows are shown, they are choreographies and sounds that are put in the edition. It's a fictitious fight, the actors don't really hit each other. That is called acting, simulating something that is not really happening beyond reality of the characters.
@JSmellerM
@JSmellerM Год назад

@adambrown6669
@adambrown6669 Год назад
@@Adierit they actually use angles for the punches to look real, fight choreography basically has the person punch to the side of the person in such a way that the face or body of the victim blocks the view of the fist from the camera as they then reel back with the blow, when done quickly and with good quality it turns into some really impressive looking fight scenes. If you ever watched Unus Annus back when that channel existed, Markiplier and Crankgameplays, the two hosts of that channel took a class on that stuff that revealed alot of how it works. It's surprisingly simple yet effective at fooling the eye.

George and Sheldon show perfectly why Wisdom and intelligence are not the same thing
@michaelmorbid704
@michaelmorbid704 Год назад
Wisdom and Intelligence are literally the same thing. One cannot be wise unless intellectually competent. Durr. Wisdom: the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise. Intelligence: the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Therefore if one is showcasing wisdom they are applying intelligence as to comprehend the knowledge they aquired. 🤦‍♂️ How people don't realize this is mind boggling. If one is not intelligent one cannot be "wise". Ask yourself.... Are morons wise and/or intelligent? 😉
@Mikakarot23
@Mikakarot23 Год назад
@@michaelmorbid704 Yes. A moron can be wise. And an intelligent person can have no wisdom. His point is that Sheldon has incredible ability to learn, but has 0 judgement, experience, and arguably very little knowledge outside of textbook knowledge. If you watch TBBT at all you can see the difference. He has read countless papers on everything he possibly can, but he is completely without good judgement, experience, and skills in any arena outside of academia or niches need stuff. While George has very little knowledge in the common sense. He has his moral compass (although skewed). He probably couldn't explain his compass if you asked. But he demonstrates great skill and judgement when pressed. Get off reddit. He was clearly using it in a more colloquial sense then a literal sense. Being hyper literal just makes you look like an ass. And even by your definitions, an intelligent person can lack wisdom due to lack of experience, good judegement, knowledge. Your intellegence definition is ability to AQUIRE knowledge and skills and apply them. Doesn't mean you do it well.
@judebarrios7709
@judebarrios7709 Год назад
@@michaelmorbid704 I think this reply is a great example as to how we can differentiate between Wisdom and Intelligence albeit the words being synonymous. Intelligence: Pasting the Dictionary meaning of the two words to prove that they are "literally" the same. Wisdom: Knowing that the two words are used differently by people depending on the context/action. Proves that Intelligence and Wisdom are not "literally" the same thing. I agree "One cannot be wise unless intellectually competent" but this reply shows that you can do something Intellectually competent without being wise. With that, I can describe your reply as an Intelligent one as opposed to it being a Wise one. How you think you are special because "people don't realize" Wisdom and Intelligence is the same according to you is what's boggling my mind.

@joyfullyplantbased7663
@joyfullyplantbased7663 Год назад
Though Sheldon might've said a few times that his father isn't a role model, I think he got blessed with a wonderful father figure. He took a job he wouldn't have wanted because it provided a nice life for the family, he took Missy for daddy daughter dates and knew how to support her when she got her first period, and he defended his kids from anyone who tried to hurt them, and he didn't just do that for his children. This scene shows he treated Veronica like a daughter, and in season 5 Billy was like a son to him. He was the best father from the start. From the moment he got Mary pregnant with Georgie, he didn't let an unplanned pregnancy make him run. He stepped up to the plate to do everything for Mary and their child. Georgie in a later season imitated that example when he got Mandy pregnant. Mandy wanted to be a single mom, but Georgie still went to the obstetrician with her and found whatever sources of income he could so he could provide for Mandy and the child he conceived, even travelling to another country in a vain attempt to do so. It's so sad that when this happens, the church ostracizes the family. I know the church doesn't like sex before marriage, but I'm sure they do like a father who can step up to the plate and be a father financially, emotionally, etc and not just biologically. I wonder if in the course of Mandy's pregnancy and Georgie's journey with fatherhood, the church community will ever stop to think about that!

Don't forget that TBBT was released years before Young Sheldon. In TBBT when Sheldon and Mary talk poorly about George, that was all true at the time and that was how he was ( because his only purpose within the show was as a form of comedic relief of sorts). It was only when the show writers started writing Young Sheldon that they chose to retcon his Character and flesh him out so to speak in order to make him appealing to the audience. After Young Sheldon aired during the later seasons of TBBT, the way in which Sheldon remembers his father and talks about him changes within TBBT to Reflect George as we know him in Young Sheldon. at least, that's how I see it.
