One of many Famous Clarinet opening songs. Outstanding entrance by the Clarinetist. Outstanding performance by everyone. I give you all a superior rating
One of the best renditions of this masterpiece I've ever heard. Lola Astanova must have been a prodigy. She looked at the keys and the conductor. Obviously there was no audience, but had there been, I would loved to have seen Lola smile.
I must say, I'm adding this rendition to my list of best renditions. I really can't say whose serving I like the best between the Royal Academy of Music, or this All-Star Orchestra ensemble. They are both "Top Notch" in my opinion!
Rashody in Blue - performed by vibrant and sensational Japanese pianist, Hayato Sumino with Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (2021). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TDZWLP7TgBM.html
Since there no audiences for the All-Star group. Lola must have dressed up for US, This is a perfect example of what professional photographers tell us: "You don't have to ask a beautiful woman to smile."
Was Unmatched by any in the past including George Gershwin at the piano. Lola Astanova really felt the nuances of the piece and the rest of the brilliant orchestra followed her every move. Hope we hear more of her.
Haha! I just flew United from BOZ to EWR and after I got home I said, “I have to listen to Rhapsody again, there is no better accompaniment to a safety video than that.”
Surprisingly, a small orchestra like this goes very well with the Rhapsody. A big orchestra is more lush, but can drown out the piano. While Bernstein's piano/conductor videos from 1976 are more famous, he makes a LOT of errors. His timing is perfect, and his playing is otherwise great, but his mistakes are jarring to those who know the piece. Lola is devoted to piano, so she could rehearse this for months ahead. Bernstein was also composer, conductor, music director and famous socialite, which left little time for practice. Lola's performance here is superb.
I played in a Symphonic Band is 1962 and we accompanied a Pianist from State University of New York at Fredonia for a concert of this fanatastic arrangement. Always loved it!
I love this version, that clarinetist is god-like, but everyone in this is impeccable. He plays the bass clarinet part as well, doing double-duty to perfection.
I played in a symphonic Band at Fredonia State University and Miss Sharon Wiggly played the piano part. It was a fantastic experience and one that I will forever remember. This is a great rendition, Lola plays off the charts
I swear to god playing the beginning on the clarinet is like playing the beginning of Fur Elise on the Piano, Screw it up and everyone will know XD Really well done though I just heard the opening 10 times lol
She is easily the most beautiful piano player I've ever seen. Excelent version of Rhapsody in Blue. Gershwin himself would love it. What's the lady's name?
When you play and listen to something enough times, you can just hear it in your head as you play it, and you know what comes next. Your fingers just start to move naturally
No classical pianists ever look at the score for a concert. Not when it's a concerto or solo piece. When they're just playing as a piano part of a score, then yes.
I don't know if this is an American orchestra or not, but I suspect it is. American orchestra's tend to understand Gershwin's Jazz sensibility of the piece better than the European orchestra's do because Jazz is uniquely American.
Can’t we leave the insulting sexist and degrading comments out. Yes she’s beautiful but right now she is performing which appears to be a footnote to you.
@@vickiknight5967 Enuf with wokeness! Desire and sexuality are essential to our humanity. If you saw a male artist, singer, actor, pianist, whatever, and besides his art being great you also happened to find him attractive should I be calling you a degrading sexist??? And don't tell me _you_ are different to most every other person, male or _female_ ! Get a grip!
Han Solo Funny, you noticed it too. Whatever she is wearing ..... showing off her breasts and her legs ...wrong choice of attire when everybody is dressed professionally.
