George battled the bottle and beat it. I’m so happy I could follow in his footsteps. I’ve been sober for 4 years now. We miss you George. We’ll meet again.
My grandfather died in 1981. My grandparents were married during the Second World War. 1943. My grandmother lived another 20 years. I asked her one time , I said grandmother, you ever thought about dating someone since grandad passed away? She looked at me with her eyes so kind and said, “son, when you have had the very best, you don’t need nobody else”. Wow, I thought to myself, Lord, please let me find that kind of love someday. He answered my prayers without a doubt.
George Jones is absolutely amazing. He is a gift to the world with all of his musical talent. With all the trials and tribulations he’s been through. He is a strong testimony for a lot of people that have walked in his paths . May God bless him and may he be happy in the arms of our loving heavenly father.
There never was and never will be another like George Jones. His was a one of a kind, pure country voice. He brought folks of all ages to country music using his beautiful voice to bring us the story in each and every song he sang.
I met George Jones Conway Twitty Merle Haggard in Albany Georgia that was the most awesome and memorable concert I've ever been to George Jones is a great guy I got to meet him and I am thrilled I did
Who's gonna fill these shoes 😢.. George was pure white lightning 🌩.. this is one jar that will never be filled..because thay don't make em like this anymore.. he could command laughter and joy, or make u cry with that guitar and his voice. 😢
I was at a George Jones concert in 1994. It was the best concert I have ever attended. George and his band were nothing but amazing. I don't think we sat down the entire concert.
George was in total command of his vocals and stage presence here. He was working off the energy of this adoring crowd. POSSUMMMMM! EVERYONE'S PUMPED UP. Best concert ever.
Yeah it was awesome, I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this. There’s a really good show at Austin City Limits, I go back an watch it over too, hope you check it out. You’re right everyone was pumped up. There are more than one, I haves watched the 1980 performance. Gotta check out the others.
Excellent country music artist absolutely love his music ño one will ever be able to be replicate George Jones he sang with his heart and soul I truly appreciate his music. I really do miss him only wish I got to meet him he was a true country music icon and inspiration to many
The living legend didn’t like performing. Ironic because he was one of the best to ever do it. Hank Williams will forever be the king of country music. Sitting right next to him is George Jones. Not a big Beatles fan but one of my favorite quotes is a George Harrison one. When he was being interviewed in I think 1964 he stated that George Jones has the best voice in modern American music.
Nobody has come close to filling his shoes!! He had it way when he was sporting that Flat Top haircut!! OMG !! Using that deep voice and then hitting those high vocals !!! And when he did He stopped loving her today !! OMG!! The part where he just talked about his friend going away. He nailed every word and made it seem like you were there at the funeral with him !! Name one country singer that can do that ?? I haven't heard one come close and the ones that tried pretty much butcherd it !!! Every one of THEM !! When he sang anyone else songs. He smoked them ALL!! EVERY ONE!! EVERY TIME !!
He sang from the heart and life experience. There will never be another one like him. True country music loved you possum Glad I was there for this concert. I will listen to you until the day I die. Rip George
Have discovered George Jones after listening to Patsy Cline my lifetime. I am completely overwhelmed with his voice and his ability to manipulate it so easily in every word. No one can do it so naturally as George. Every song he sings a story I want to hear over and over.
My name is Donny from Logan WV and this concert means alot to me bc I grew up with a little 2pac biggie and other stuff and country wasn't my yhing till I came back home to Logan and joined the American legion and the old timers asked me if I knew how to play the jukebox and I learned really quick to appreciate George Jones and his music
One thing I can’t help but notice is the wide range of age groups in this concert. From teens to not so young folks, probably some in their 80s, to as young as high school and college students. When you had it, you had it. George had it. What a phenomenal performance this was.
George is the best of all country singers! I am so glad I saw George at country tonight few years back. I will never forget him had chill bumps for two hours. DCH
I Love George Jone’s among All of them For The Country Singer’s Album! George Straight, When He sings The Chair Awesome and Blessed .Like said Among All Of them Are So Many To Many to mention!
This night was magical , George, The Jones boys , The huge crowd, Every song he sang, brought the crowd into a frenzy. WHAT a night, you could feel the love for George. I loved every minute of it. A llive concert with George Jones. It doesn't get better than this ! ❤❤❤
This is the best version of George's voice that I've found so far. Him and his sideman Ron were on fire this night. George's voice had aged like fine wine by the point of this show and this performance was quite obviously the pinnacle of that aging process.
I agree the best documented performance by far. It's a pity it wasn't longer and that instead of the medley he done full versions of those songs. The 50 celebration concert is very good also especially disc one with all the great guests doing George's songs.
I was there with my wife. We are Knoxvillians and sat on the front row of the Civic Coliseum. George' wife was just off to our right. The Kentucky Headhunters opened the show. Then there was a very young newcomer, Faith Hill! We saw her after the show signing autographs. She was stunningly beautiful. The show was amazing....George Jones at his best! I'll never forget that night.
George is the very best of country music always make cold cold 😎 chills all over my body!! I will all remember going to country tonight George put on a great show! He still lives in my heart ❤️ 12-2-23 dch

Wow that is amazing. I remember my Aunt playing his songs on the stereo on LP albums and I was but a little kid and I remember being impressed by George’s voice and how it would send chills down my spine. He had a great gift. Rip George.
