The idea (of a conceptual metaphor that we live by) is controversial. But to someone who's into a therapy work, who's familiar with Sapir-Whorf hypothesis or Korzybski's work or NLP or Milton Erickson’s approach, or someone who liked the monologue at the end of Blade Runner... It is a hell of a ride. The more you read, experience and get to know yourself, the more you see. It's like reading Master and Margarita and enjoying not only the plot on the surface, but having access to all the mind blowing levels and dimensions: historical, political, religious, satirical, demonological etc.
I know "Metaphors We Live By" very well, including the discussion of "Love is a Journey", and I was glad to learn where the idea came from (how about a name credit?). But what I was thinking about here was... how can you hit a dead-end street? :D I guess if it's a flying car, you can ;)
So, can you get a ticket from a cop on this journey. A flat tire. A dead battery. Need body work? Fill up the tank and clean the windshield? How about trading in for a new car? Can you get bumped from your flight and knocked around being dragged out? ;-)
From the very beginning, you don't look ñike you had a very big audience jajajajajajajajaja such BS this conceptual metaphor!!!! Now, the real metaphor is worth the effort!
Just so that I get the basic idea: it all depends upon where one is on the Nature--Nurture debate, right? After all, although the Communists had committed many of the same types of military atrocities and crimes against Humanity, usually associated with the Nazis, the Communists were, much like Liberals, on the Nurture side of this debate, and I suspect that is precisely why Liberals are somewhat more forgiving to the Commies than they are toward the Nazis. Another reason for this odd double standard is that the Communists prided themselves on their Secularism, while the Nazis were religious fanatics.
@@AlveolarNasal You have to wonder what is he doing here watching the video in the first place than? It's not Gangam Style, man, you don't get here by mistake. He's not capable of understanding so he deals shit to others, not a likable dude if I might say so.
