Same. I find it funny that when it was on the air not everyone saw it but after it's cancellation and it went syndication on Nick at Nite it became more popular to everyone including me.
It's so strange that this show isn't seen as one of the greats, it was honestly good, like as far as more modern sitcoms, this and My Wife and Kids are my favorites
@@aidan4031 Or... Alternatively... We all can like whatever we want and considering most of the comments I've seen were positive ones, means that I'm not the only one, so yes it's strange, "taste" is not universal, you should know better than that
its honestly one of the more unique famly sitcoms. With arcs, character growth, and changes to the status quo every season or 2. Super under valued and under appreciated compared to its contemporaries. But also i think around this time the family sitcom was starting to lose steam compared to when they were hot in the 90s. Shows like martin and fresh prince. This just might have been wrong place wrong time.
@@robertrodriguez787 my mother pressed on the gas while I was still in the van with my leg still outside as I was being picked up, to this day she has never apologized and even says that I made it up at times. Sadly my sisters weren't paying attention so I had no witnesses but I still feel the pain in my leg whenever I stretch it outward at an angle or use it in a way that focuses on the muscles around the area where the pain originated. She's also ran over a handful of our dogs in her haste to leave the parking lot, one of the dogs in particular she crippled and crushed from the waist below and her left leg's bone was exposed but thankfully wasn't broken, had some help from my father's cousin who helped us patch her up and said that if she had been ran over in any other way then she would've sustained far too much damage to her lower body and likely would've [slowly] died from her injuries, despite all that she lived the longest out of her siblings and even had puppies on several occasions (my mother never learned her lesson btw).
@@gerawallstar3487 theres multiple ones that all pretty much build up to George finding out his father is super rich and finally confronting him in person. Its a really good season
You must've not loved it if you forgot about it even existing 🙃 In all seriousness though it really was a great show, kinda wished that there were more seasons but considering what some people have stated about the direction that the show was going for maybe it was better for the show to have ended the way it did if the rumors were true.
@@elianrodriguez7318George Lopez and everybody hates Chris for the early seasons were fantastic. I used to ask my mom to stay up late to watch them when I was like 11 haha
I remember I would stay up all night watching this and other shows on tv on nick at night when I was young I didn't understand a thing about this show watching years later I really like it and a lot of the jokes in it still hold up to this day.
Ricky Jones : I recommend you get this show on DVD or Blu-Ray if they're available. The episodes on Nick at Night were always edited and never showed the complete episodes scenes as they do on home DVD or Blu-Ray video.
Loqulizrosales Why should she when he said that to her? When Benny told George why she slapped him, he would have understood and turn the tables on Max for disrespecting his grandmother like that
@@josephhernandez1885 Benny herself knew that slapping Max would be considered as child abuse to most people. That's why George is more upset with her than he is with Max.
loudboy317 George was hit as a child. He probably doesn’t want to ever hit his kids because of what he went through. That extends to never wanting anyone to hit his kids. Including his abusive mother
Benny is usually a rude, inconsiderate, obnoxious human being. But in this particular situation I think she is right. Max was the one disrespecting Benny, sure she should've shown more restraint. But at the end she was just teaching him a lesson not to disrespect adults like that. There is a difference between teaching a kid a lesson and just being an asshole and slapping kids around for the hell of it.
Psh, honestly Angie and George's kids need to be whooped once in a while. These punishments they do won't solve shit. Max burned down their Garage, Prove a car through the fence, joined a gang, took part in underage drinking, peeked on his sister's friend, took apart a computer claiming he can upgrade it though the fucked it up, disrespected his mom, dad and grandma etc. etc. Carmen ranaway, underage drank, snuck out multiple times, got a hickey, claimed after she ran away that she was too grown up, stayed out all night worrying her parents, faked being pregnant just so she can marry her no good now ex boyfriend Jason, got arrested, got her brother jumped in school etc etc. Now I'm no expert... But Benny raised George better than he raised their kids.
RockBeauty :3 Omg I never saw it like that. This whole time I thought Angie and George were great parents and Benny was bad. She did amazing as a single mom compared to them smh.
I watched every single episode of this show since I was 10 on nick@night. Love it so much because of all the lessons, comedy, and heart felt moments. And also all the shots on Bennie. WAPPAH!
Pablo Perez exactly I never understood that even till this day on why would Angie say she better be there to apologize to Max when he was the one that should've been apologizing for disrespecting his grandmother.
Pablo Perez exactly. I mean he disrespected his grandma and all of a sudden, both Angie and George are having a fuss about it. I don't give a shit about what Angie thinks. It would have been better if Benny told george and maybe George would have said, "Oh. Why didn't you just say so? Ill talk to him right now." That would have settled easily
It looks like I'm in the minority here, but with all the episodes ive seen, its safe to say, Benny is a cranky old bat that thinks she doesn't owe anyone anything. It was HER fault she got pregnant at 16, but acts like it's George's. She was a horrible mother to George, and therefore has no right punishing her grandkids.
Bennies a Grown Woman she should be bigger & wiser than that. Not giving into impulse like a child. Max was being childish. He was 12. Its Bemmys fault she at least shouldve yelled at him or scared him away not hit him
I got my arse kicked by my Grandparents, but they raised me. It's a little different. However if someone else touched me, they would react like George did. It's the principle. You don't hit someone else's kid, unless you have permission from whomever is raising the children. Now, had my Grandparents giving that special grant to my aunt's, then that's a different story.
The problem was that Benny was a terrible mother to George, so he doesn't like her saying anything to his children because she doesn't deserve that right.
I can't believe how relatable George Lopez of all shows was, this is insanely relatable, why is it that grown adults will pretend as though they didn't hit their kids once they grow up? That shit makes no sense.
I remembered part of this episode that she did not apologize to Max she just give him $20 instead that's no good. And she should not hit Max. Angie and George are right they never abused him or give him corporal punishments cuz that's no good.
Drewand Jeffers oh so you think she should let go of the fact he said to her quote, "why don't you take your tired ass home?" And she should take that? My grandma would spank me and my sisters if we ever disrespected her or did something bad. So why should Angie and George cry about it anywho?
Joseph Hernandez Maybe, if Benny hadn't thrown Max's football into the neighbor's backyard, then he wouldn't have told her to "take her tired ass home".
@@loudboy317 well she did say for them to go somewhere else and if my grandma told me that I would do it or i would get my ass kicked for not listening so max was in the wrong first
@@Davidkdfko1234 Benny should've been the one to go somewhere else because it's not her house. However, I will say she could've either taken away his football or make an idle threat which could scare some sense into Max because even she knew that smacking him in the face would be considered child abuse to most people. That's why George and Angie were more angry with Benny then they are with Max.
@@loudboy317 yeah but its her sons house and she has the authority to punish him because max was cussing at her believing he was some hot shit but I do believe she shouldnt have thrown the ball just took it away for awhile
I kinda see where max is coming from, because it was his house and Benny rudely through his football over the neighbors fence where the “ neighbors rotwiler” could chew it up and ruin it, plus if Benny wanted to relax then she could have just, you know, “take her tired ass home!”
RockBeauty :3 yeah, but it’s not Benny’s house either, even though max is a kid it’s still technically his house, he lives there. And she didn’t ask nicely, rather rude to him.
Max was being a little turd and probably could have stood to have a little corporal discipline. However, it definitely should not come from anyone other than his parents. No matter where you fall on the whole "corporal punishment" thing, discipline like that should be left up to a child's mother and father. Benny really crossed a line here, especially considering George was right inside the house. Unless explicitly permitted otherwise, you should NEVER physically punish someone else's child (especially considering Benny was just AT the house and not there to watch or take care of Max).
George, i know a good family lawyer who deals with Child Abuse. He could put a restraining order on your mom and she won't be bothering you no more. After that, bust out the KEG and mariachi!!! lol
Just saw him in blue beetle a few weeks ago actually pretty solid flim he was one of the best PARTS of the movie hopefully James Gunn gives him a contract 😊😊
There is no way in any real life that a son would still have anything to do with a horrible mother like his. Even after he finds his dad, even if it was short lived and emotionally unsettled, she still shows how selfish and shady she is. Would never have her in my life wouldn't care.
@@sbrooks729I am sorry. Abusers like Benny doesn't deserve ANY RESPECT!! PEOPLE LIKE HER ALWAYS TRY TO DISSECT THOSE WHO THEY THINK THAT ARE WEAKER THAN THEM. ABUSERS LIKE HER ARE COWARDS. Like I said, if she wasn't an abuser, I would agree with you. There's an exception to the rule. I am on Max's and George's side.
Everyone here seems to ignore that Benny started the whole thing when she threw Max's 🏈 in the neighbors 🏠. Max was acting up & was disrespectful, but he doesn't have to leave the backyard if he doesn't want to.
