Oh, I had such a crush on George Michael, had his posters on the walls as a teenager 😊 ""Careless Whisper" is still one of my favourite songs. He had such a warm, soft but powerful voice! And a true artist, not just a singer but a song writer too. One more huge talent gone too soon.

What a great singer George Michael was. I guess they inspired each other to give it all. Another inspiring performance is Gary Brooker singing A White shade of pale with his band Procul Harum, live in Denmark 2006.

There's a interview with George Michael where he tolds that Freddie Mercury told him how to sing and gave him some lessons. Can't remember where I saw it and which interview but it explains a lot I think.

Love this performance!! Really miss George Michael.🥺 Of course, this song is a masterpiece!! Funny comment by Freddie when asked why they asked Tim Rice to do lyrics for a couple songs off the Barcelona album. Freddie commented “Not everybody has a Bernie Taupin”. 😂 Hahahahaha!! Awwwwww, by beloved George. I will miss him forever. One of the greatest regrets of my life is not being able to get tickets for the concert he did in Chicago in 2008. It was his first American tour in many years and tickets went SO fast. My friend was in the second row of that show. I didn't speak to her for a week. lol

I’ve watched this video many times before and love it. Music as music should be! George and Elton were beautiful together. And as I’ve also heard George did not change or drop a single note from the way Freddie sang it when he sang “Somebody To Love” at the Freddie Tribute concert. Wow!! Great reaction HAP!! As other commenters mentioned, this is an Elton song. At some point prior to Live Aid, George had told Elton that he really loved this song and would love to sing it. Live Aid in 1985 was the first time they performed the song together. They performed it after Live Aid at various times. But this later performance from 1991 is truly iconic. This exact recording was released on radio stations (at least over here) and this is a very polished and perfected duet. GM’s voice here is also very polished and sounds silky smooth. Their harmonies on this sound really amazing to me and blend perfectly. I also think the melody is lovely and just perfect for the lyrics. Thanks HAP for a great reaction!!! 🌻🌻🎼 🎶

Finally they got together to do the song properly together. They didn't speak after Live Aid when George wouldn't let Elton sing his parts. They made up 6 yrs later, right before this venue performance. Thank God for them and us!

Things I noted watching you... 1- GM's voice, ''Smooth''. 2- You sat back with a respectful posture when Elton came on. 3- I just loved when it drew you to the front of your chair and you leaned in with that look of ''OMG, what am I seeing here?''.........

I saw Michael Jacksons drummer Sugarfoot from "Smooth Criminal" in the band. What a legendary performance.Elton John's song was performed brilliantly by two phenominal artists.The stage wasn't big enough for that much talent.

It's an Elton song but this was part of George's Cover To Cover Tour in the early 90s where he sang all cover songs. :) I love your reaction and - yes - Fast Love is fantastic!!! :D x

Truly one of the great moments in music. George Michael could sing his ass off. He is the singer Justin Timbetlake wishes he, himself could be. As you pointed out, music was so much more real before auto-tune and cookie cutter artists took over. Yeah, being able to sing like George wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen in my life. 😄

1972--------when EJ was asked to record this song , he refused. Too dark, too down. He hated it. However, The Beach Boys were in London, & EJ played with them at Wembley. After, in talking, both Carl & Dennis Wilson offered to sing backgrounds, if EJ wanted them.. Indeed, Mike Love, Al Jardine & Billy Hinsche, all ended up in studio, singing backgrounds. So, EJ recorded a monster hit song ! --------THAT said, to me, this duet., is superior ; George Michael was born to sing this masterpiece with EJ, Wembley, 1991 . ---------------MJL< 76 y/o

In a time when 90% of the music is just garbage, there actually was a time not so very ago when artists like George and Elton made some of the best, most heartfelt music in history. Auto-tune and lip-sync were unheard of and not needed, because real voices and instruments ruled the day...Many of today's artists might be remembered for a decade or two....George Michael and Elton John's music will be listened to as long as there are people around to hear it...RIP George!
