This is the second time I have listened to this interview and and I really could hear George's humour he had a lovely personality and he was really intelligent with his replys to the questions he was asked he really could take the piss out of himself he was just a really lovely human being genuine and cared about his music and people heaven got a shining star when God called him home rip george xxxx
George's hilarious witty personality projected through that heavenly speaking voice was as sexy as his looks and performance skills. Ahhh George we miss you so! ❤
Absolutely heartbreaking to listen to him talking about his plans for the future and how he wanted to stay away from the limelight to focus on making better music and to produce an album every 18 months knowing how things went completely against his will… so sad!
I remember this interview. I was working on a building site in Birmingham. Takes me way back to when life was seemingly better. We’d use a landline to call people and enjoyed waiting for things.
Oh thanks a lot for sharing !! Listening to George is such a pleasure...makes you forget for a moment that he's not with us anymore. It's really nice hearing him laugh and joke.... George you are so deeply missed by so many people....I do miss you, as I never missed anybody so far....but you've got a warm place in my heart, more than ever ! You'll always have.
It's hard to listen 👂🏽 to this knowing All the tragedies that lay ahead...his mom death . sisters death 💀 on Xmas..his boyfriend ☠️ death..a 4-week prison sentence..car crashes... Beverly Hills restroom 🚻 arrest and that fateful evening buying drugs 💊 (heroin from his dealer that stopped his heart..What A Life!🤔(Family had the toxicology report sealed indefinitely)
Listening to this March 2024. I saw him at Wembley and the image of the album cover was projected onto the building outside. I have been to many gigs since that night. All enjoyable in their own ways. But George at Wembley remains my absolute favourite ever night of my life. Elton joined him on stage. The eruption from the audience was incredible. I miss him and it hurts knowing we will never see him again. What a great relaxed interview. Honest, laid back, natural. ❤
GM: "I'll send you anything if you buy five copies of the album!"...:-) I love his sense of humor and joking about his own image. No chip on his shoulder, but a sense of reality without being negative. Such a lovely man. THANK YOU for sharing this gem which shows the personal and terrific side of George.
Listening to this and other old radio interviews of George as I clear out the closet in my bedroom tonight. Suddenly I’m 25 again - when I came out of the closet and immediately filled it with the armour that would provoke and protect from the slings and arrows of the world. George Micheal’s music was there for all of it; often a great source of comfort and always a fabulous resource when celebrating. I feel like we grew up together. You have been loved. Thanks for posting. ❤️
As a younger George fan and LWP being my favourite record ever, I came across this interview a couple of weeks ago. Very sad the recent news of Steve Wright's passing. Very good, fun interview!
Sad listening to George say I’ve got loads of ideas for next album and being no where near his best. The next few years were full of heartache and it was another six years until Older.
This is just the year before he met Anselmo and every single thing changed for him going forward - You just never know where it's all going to take you. He sounds so relaxed here, not guarded, laughing a lot - This ended up being his last album until Older, years later as he couldn't write when Anselmo became ill and later died - It's bittersweet hearing him laughing, knowing he's gone 💔
Love him so down to earth just sat there chatting like he was not a superstar we love you George way beyond any image yes Faith caught our attention and its sentimental to me because its the first I saw you as a kid that I really paid mind to but your soul is made us fall in love and Go go is adorable and a great song even though i had no clue that was the same man as Faith
The interviews I've heard so far I agree 💯% and I'd like to say I believe his mother was probably extremely proud not just by his performances but also by his well spoken voice, intelligent responses and OMG, his humor is the icing on thr cake!!! As a mother, grandmother and a very mature woman it's great to hear☺️
Thank you for this precious interview. It was the time of the ascent and the happy projects… before the tragedies. As if fame had a price. As if for a being as talented as him, the bill had to be priceless.
Richard: If anyone could cover Faith who would you want to cover Faith? George Michael: Roger Whittaker?! Listen at 31:49. Brilliant answer to this question.
he said father figure was his favorite video LOL and as he got older and starting doing then again he appreciated it more and just had fun I hope they were just fun the music was most important but i loved having a face to put with the song the press sucks
Great interview and some background on my favorite album of all time, "LWP". Interesting part of the interview when he says he wants to promote less and make more music. Unfortunately, the suit with Fony and personal losses impacted his creativity. Wish there was more music to listen to from this genius.
“You seem more upbeat” implying he was not in previous times didn’t like that mr Wright then revert back to money and laughs it off George was smart but sadly went along with him .. steve Wright never been a fan, he’s the face of NEGATIVITY heavily disguised ! Well done George you are and we’re always light years ahead and they just couldn’t get near you
He covered loads of songs of others on his 1991 Cover to Cover tour (where he met Anselmo, in Brazil while on that tour). Some incredible cover versions - all better (IMO) than any of the originals. Back to Life being one of my faves (originally by Soul II Soul)
George isn’t dead. He paid the same agency as Prince and Michael Jackson. Through established hypnosis techniques and cosmetic surgery, set the star up in a new life with a new face with no memory of what has been before. This agency operates above the level of governments and their reach is extensive. How do I know? I paid the agency for the same service. I am risking all to comment here. Once you pay there is no option to cancel. The agency is hunting me down, not to kill me but to fulfil the contract I agreed to escape my life and to provide a peaceful existence. I will try and comment again if I can. Before I go, keep an eye on Tom Cruise………..
