You will be making a mistake if you think traditional country music is about the hats and the boots. Traditional country music is about the story. It's about the message of the song. The feeling that country music was "murdered" is less about the drums and electric guitars and more about some newer styles being more about flash and loud music and less about the lyrics and the message of the song. The lyrics are about life - love, loss, hardship, faith, loyalty, struggle - and they reflect the lives of small town and rural working class people. That's what makes a song country music. The cliche is that country music is "three chords and the truth".
That’s just not true. I’m a huge fan of both and I guarantee that rock bands are very very skilled. Name a country artist that played their guitar 12 hours a day just hone in their skills.
You know country music started in the United States from people from England, Scotland, and Ireland! The people that moved to the south and they brought their music from the Old Country and they changed it over the years here! So Country Music has its roots there!
The music for this song is specifically trying to exaggerate the traditional sound of country & to emphasize how todays country is so very different. These two are traditional for sure, but also have songs with a more modern twist too. And 'The Possum' is the nickname for George Jones.
You don't have to be in the country music lifestyle to let it touch your heart or find something in the songs to speak to you. I'm really enjoying yall experiencing county music and being honest with your reviews and not pretending to love a song just to placate. I really look forward to anytime that I see a country music reaction come up from your channel. Here are my wish list of artists and songs. Just a swinging by John Anderson and if you like that please check out his Seminole wind. I'm so lonesome I could cry by Hank Sr along with there's a tear in my beer the duet that was created with Hank Jr. Lorretta Lynn coal miners daughter and Pasty Cline sweet dreams. Reba's Fancy and Keith Whitley when you say nothing at all and Vince gill go rest high on that mountain and last on this list since it's turning into a book Randy Travis Forever Amen. I could really keep going but if you could check out any of these amazing songs and artists that would be so awesome.
Thank you, George! Thank you, Alan, for standing up for traditional country music. It is a shame what Nashville has done to country music, turning it into a steaming pile of garbage made up of country, pop, rock, rap, and whatever else they can throw into the mix.
I really enjoy you guys and thanks for this one. George Strait did a movie in 1992 - Pure Country - about a entertainer who gave in to making the show glitzy and loud with fire, crashing guitars, etc. He was unhappy so just took off and went back to his roots to "find himself" where he started. His grandma told him he was best back when it was just him and his guitar singing from the heart. One of his long-time friends caught up with him and said when he left, the manager "just turned up the fire on another dancing chicken." So this song hits those same vibes for me. I especially like that they sang this in front of all those music executives and entertainers from "down on Music Row" there in Nashville. I'm reminded of Garth Brooks with propane flames shooting, and him on wires flying over the crowd. Nope - not for me.
I like your reaction guys as new subscriber to your channel, My request for you is Mind Blowing please react to this "The Greatest Showman - Never Enough | 4TH IMPACT".
Please, Please do more Alan Jackson songs! You haven"t scratched the surfaCE. His first hits in the 90's: Livin' on Love, Chattahoochee, Gone Country, and Little Bitty. Later hits 5 Oclock Somewhere, Drive, and Remember When. These are much more representative of his style and I think you would enjoy them more.
Yeah George Strait and Allen Jackson can sing! Thats funny! Wow its so interesting to hear you listen to country music. Ive heard British music its all techno no lyrics.
Hi both, I quite like the stories country music tell, they do seem to always be sad stories. Country singers have a really unique sound, and look about them, also the dancing (line dancing). A nice upload ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really appreciate your reaction to this song. And the credit you gave to the vocals. (did catch you moving to the music 🙂) Try "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn. The wonderful thing about (traditional) country music is....the songs might sound 'corny' to some, but the songs always tell a story....about real tragedies, real heartaches, but also real love, and most importantly ....real life. And you can understand the lyrics and what they're singing about.
Two of the greatest country singers of all time! That's OK, BP1, no one likes every genre of music. Both of them have some more fun songs as well. You guys would probably like outlaw country a bit more. That being said, please do George Strait's newer song Weight of the Badge. It's a tribute to first responders. I'll put a link on Patreon.
You need to hear more Alan Jackson and George Strait to erase the lack of culture you've heard throughout your life. Alan Jackson and George Strait the best in the world.
Yeehaa, lots of fiddling and steel guitars, I'm sure there'll always be a place for the traditional Country music scene, I guess it's like the bagpipe music in Scotland.
'Get your country hats on.' Er... if I had one, I would. But I don't, so I won't. Ha! Cough it up, BP1, it might be a gold watch! (My nan used to say that a lot 🤣🤣🤣) I mean, it's VERY country, isn't it? They're both obviously great at what they do (fab voices), but it's just not my cup of tea...
