Why don't all you criticizers get up there and try to sing it like Johnny Paycheck he sings it's close as it can be and he doesn't have to prove anything
Years ago before he was King George when he was just another singer playing beer joints in Texas I heard him sing the song "My Way" and I'll always remember it. I know everyone in the world has sung that song but I think he did the best I've ever listened to.
George can sing anything. Good job George on this Paycheck and /singletary classic. This is absolutely one of the best country songs ever.....enjoyed your verison
Okay, I mean I knew George Strait could sing but... I didn't think he could sing this one.. Wow.. He really could sing anything and make it greater than the original. I swear King George is the closest I'll ever be to heaven without actually being in heaven. Now, George... Let's hear your long desired spin on Tennessee Whiskey.. And then I also want your run on Conway Twitty's Goodbye Time..
Brandon A Singletary does a good cover, that I must agree but that is what it is, just a cover! Paycheck will always be #1 ,even though he recorded it about 3,000 times lol!
I love George Strait as much as anyone, but Singletary could sing this song like no one else, other than Paycheck himself. Paycheck delivered one of the great vocal masterpieces of country music, alongside George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today."
Wouldn't it be great if they bring him to the Empire Thether it would be great people out there lets all together and have him here i love you my darling ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
He recorded this song on his last album, Honky Tonk Time Machine. One of those songs I think he said he always wanted to cover. Wish he had recorded Pancho and Lefty, he does the best cover of that song ever.
GEORGE DID A GREAT JOB ON THIS SONG , BUT JOHNNY PAYCHECK JUST CAN'T BE BEST ON THIS ONE IN THE 80'S MY HUSNAND HAD TICKETS TO SEE JOHNNY PAY CHECK IN PERSON BUT HE WAS ARRESTED FOR SOME TROUBLE HE HAD GOTTEN INTO BEFORE COMING TO OUR HOMETOWN. WE NEVER GOT TO SEE HIM BUT WILL FOREVER LOVE JOHNNY N HIS OLD VIOLIN
MEANT TO SAY JOHNNY.JUST BE BEAT ON THIS ONE GOD BLESS YOU JOHNNY FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG FROM.YOUR HEART!!! GOTTA SAY GEORGE DID A GREAT JOB ALSO., BUT LET'S GIVE CREDIT,WHERE CREDIT IS DUE !!! THIS IS N WILL FOREVER BE PAYCHECK'S OWN.
WOW! Best version of this song i have ever heard. He should cut this for the next album. That voice of his with the best backup band in the business, just does not get any better.
He's not trying to out do them he's showing respect by honoring their music and keeping their memory alive. If anybody has nothing to prove it's George Strait!
