Love his humility, self-deprecating (I'm British, and we love that after all) manner. Good for him for making a living not having to put that tie on, and go to work. He's given millions joy with the results.
Saw George Thorogood and the Destroyers live in Dublin in 2004 and what a lasting memory. Absolutely brilliant performer and he does a mean version of Dust My Broom it has to be said!!
George, maybe we don't even like McCartney or them other fluffy characters. Maybe we like the blues. And George T. This is where we come from. This is home. Blues rock for ever.
I was blessed to see George and the destroyers is London years ago fu*king amazing. All the best blues players use the thumb plucker, Johnny Winter does too amazing I love the blues
SAYS HE NEEDS SLIDE TO COVER HIS SHORTFALLS . Blimey. That little finger is your heartbeat man. Take that away and your gone. Much respect from the UK . LOVE SLIDE, LOVE BLUES, LOVE YOUR CONTRIBUTION.
Never Apologize! John Wayne said that once. Especially when you have nothing to Apologize for. I saw Thorogood live outside at a summer festival. He had a Bandanna on his head and put on a blazing Rock n Roll show!🔥 He’s a great guitar 🎸 player and Rocker!👏🏻🎸😎
I have the exact same guitar. ES 125 TCD. My father bought it for my much older brother in about 1963. In pristine condition. I play it weekly at an old folks jam.
Some serious delta slide at the end... sounds like a big block chevy rumbling Nice! You either get this or you don't. It's about tone, feeling and pure guts.... In today's world with EMG synthetic pickups and being judged on how fast you shred... a lot of younger people just don't get this music. This was the original American bad ass music!
Paul Calugaru Cool comment! Just like with harmonica now, its all about speed and tricks. I have been playing harmonica for over 35 yrs and i prefer playing it slower and with soul.
Im sure i can say this speaking for all musician guitarist's worldwide. Those belly aching sour asses who make disparaging remarks about Brother George's mega hits or style, they are among that group of rundowners who never had a song in the top 500, probably never made radio waves! Haters gonna hate, from their pulpit of nothing and no where! George Thorogood is an absolute living legend, a true piece of Americana! An original rocker from later generation but instilled with the Pioneers and Innovators of Rhythm and Blues! His raw finger picking recipe delivers a jolt of authentic nostalgia, George blesses us with all those flavors and styles that the very first blues pickers gave birth too!! He's Real, Raw, Ripping, and Revolutionary and he has spanned many decades and generations, Pure Thorogood Style and That Unique Thorogood Sound thats unmistakable!! George Thorogood is a Real Deal Living Legend that exudes so many of the Original Blues Pickers feel and magic, covering generations and still going!! Still Bad!! Still Killing It!! Still The Legend! Still Thorogood!! Pay homage to greatness you lowly dogs!! Love You George, youve inspired literally millions of us "Geetar Pickers" across the globe!
I heard GT when I was about 14 and then in my late teens I was obsessed with him and his sound, I would carry a GT and the Delaware Destroyers tape around with me to parties to put people in a drinking mood. Then I bought my first guitar and still love the slide at 55 thanks to this man

1st Saw George mid 80ish at a Downtown theater Kansas city. Myself and 2 buds were the only Okies standing up and hootin. We were like 5row and i turned to look around cause none else were standing. George would have to remember cause i was dumbfounded but he played and we party on to B&B.
Dig brother. I saw George Thorogood at Dingwalls Camden Lock in the early 80’s, introduced onstage by John Peel. Epic performance! I am not a bad guitar player, but I still can’t play slide…
The first time I heard "One Bbourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer" on the radio(WNEW in NY ) I went right out and bought his first LP. I played the shit out of that record!(god, that was in 1977) I wish I had the cassette of the concert i recorded off the radio back then(man he fuckin' killed the audience at "The Bottom Line" nightclub in NY) Saw him in 1982(?) when he did his marathon 50 gigs in 50 days tour. George is the undisputed king of the slide guitar
There comes a time when all the cosmic tumblers have clicked into place - and the universe opens itself up for a few seconds to show you what's possible - Ray Kinsella in "Field of Dreams". That's what happened when GT was matched up with the Gibson 125, and what happens when he performs and we have the opportunity to listen to this master.
We've seen McCartney and we seen You! and we sure like the way you play the hell out of that guitar!!!! Lonesome George, Keep Picking!!! When are you going to come back to Memphis?
Very unique, yet you pulled the tone out of your piece like I'm sure very few can , if that is your real name "good", is definitely an understatement... .
No, you don't wanna be 6' 3". I'm 6' 3" and believe me its no fun. I have a hard time finding clothes sometimes and I've got the biggest, ugliest feet on this planet. I inherited them from my mother. I wear a size 15EEE shoe and I have to get shoes online. There are people who have bigger feet than mine. Anyway, I've heard your playin' and you're good.....real good. Good video George.
