"You can’t get very far in life if you don’t get away from Self" - George Washington Carver in 1939
The famed scientist and inventor best known for the amazing work he did with peanuts -- he cooked up over 100 uses for peanuts incluing plastics and gasoline -- gave this rare interview four years before he died in 1943. It's an inspiring story about the importance of scientific discovery and putting ego aside in the search for facts and the truth.

This man is the US version of Da Vinci. He improved the color blue that was in crayons, and used in art. It was more a cornflower blue before, now a true blue. Reused paper before paper mills started making recycled paper, made tile out of peanut shells. He saved the southern crops by encouraging farmers to grow peanuts instead of cotton. Saved them from economic disaster because of the bowl weevil infestation. If anyone deserves a statue its this man.

" you subconsciously understand that you are inferior, and worth less than nothing" Less than nothing. Gee, Buford, angry about your place in this unfair world? generalize and make absurd racist comments often? You sound stupider than the National Socialists. That's nazis btw. This thread started with the woman comparing GW Carver's accomplishments to Da Vinci's which is a bit of a stretch, if you look at the short lists of what they achieved. Less than nothing? Bach, Einstein, Da Vinci, Newton, Bill Evans, Joe Montana, Larry Bird" All walked around subconsciously understanding they were "inferior and with less than nothing". You're laughable. Pathetic. Evolve, backwards person. Yeah, whitey done stole all GW Carver's patents, and everbody's blues tunes at Chess Records etc etc, but that don't make us all worthless. Take off the Nation of Islam shades and have a look around. Malcolm did, so should you. You got's to deal with what is, hard as it may be, and lose the slave mentality. Stop being African American and just be human. @@Fedya7894DUDE

This is what I read: “But he was worth a great deal to Susan and Moses, who were grieving the loss of the baby’s mother, their beloved Mary. And so, just as they had done with Mary, they treated George as their own child. But the first years of his life were a constant struggle for survival. He continued to cough horribly, which damaged his vocal cords and would give him, to the end of his days, a pronouncedly high, feminine-sounding voice. But Susan nursed him through his endless illnesses. George also suffered from a stutter and was slow to develop physically.” The book is called 7 MORE MEN by Eric Metaxas
