@briangryn3680 So I get why low carb is bad and what happens if you just start eating fruit etc... but is there a way to transition from a low carb diet (like carnivore in my case but just for about two months) to a prometabolic diet without gaining a bunch of weight?

I’m obsessed with Georgi since I first saw him on Mercola’s podcast, and have watched and listened to so many of them now. I enjoy getting in the weeds with the science, but would love to have him do an interview where he only talks about the practical aspect of the diet alone, what to eat, what supplements to take with specific damaging a.a. Etc. he only touches on it briefly, like with the carrot salad, or why not to eat saurkraut etc. I listen to him on .75 speed so I can absorb all the puts out there are rapid fire speed! So awesome!

AFAIK it's the lactic acid and probiotics. Georgi has a post from 2018 that mentions sauerkraut called "Probiotics Are Dangerous, Should Be Regulated As Drugs" on ray peat forum.

Lots of comments re weight...this dude is a body builder and makes a point of 'slim' is not what we want in survival. I have just been diagnosed type 2 diabetes and liver dysfunction to take statins. No way im takinv statins. Liver function, despite healthy eating, due to 4 years of extreme stress, severe constipation and under weight/ no muscle tone/ no energy/ appalling brain function. It seems obvious to me that liver is now in real trouble so very thankful finding this video. And i will be giving myself permission to eat honey when i feel i am collapsing. Thank you

The only thing that Georgi said that I am not sure I agree with is, the vitamin D levels being low and predictable for disease. We have yet to determine if the low levels are the 'cause' of disease, or the 'effect' of the disease. And, from the studies I have seen, low levels of a 25 OH test, which is measuring the storage form of D in the blood, when it is known that D is stored in fat/adipose tissue, are not accurate to determine your D status, the active form of D is. So, how can you determine someone is deficient when you possibly are not measuring all of their bioavailable D? That is like testing your car's fuel line to see how much gas is in the tank. Not only that, the VDR {vitamin D receptors}, if is is blocked, which can happen from different things like viruses and bacteria, will not utilize the D even if your levels are up in a test. Too many factors to draw that conclusion.

I didn't get much sun at all and had low vitamin d on tests. Idk which d was tested. Vitamin d3 pills significantly helped. People all around me are probably deficient in northern USA. The tests are perfect, but I'm convinced are great

I remember when i was a teenager, maybe in middle school, i saw an article in my mom’s magazine about stress and what it could do to you physically. It showed a picture of a guy before and after a period of a stressful happening. How it changed him to look older. For the love of god I couldn’t get it into my head as to what a stress is and why it could affect you. Mind you this was late 80s, no social media, not much tv(at least in my household) so far i guess I’ve only read children’s books and didn’t get exposed as much as kids nowadays about crazy stuffs. The article was above my pay grade and even after my mom kinda explained it to me i still didn’t understand the full scope😅 how nice right?! I mean not to understand what stress is. At 31:00 nicotinic acid is pretty flushing so does that mean its releasing histamine and serotonin? B3 is great for keeping histamine under control cause it helps the body's ALDH enzyme process Imidazole acetaldehyde from the action of DAO enzyme on histamine... so we should be using niacinamide instead? What about the flushing benefits, would that be useful for detox? Does niacinamide still give the same great detox benefits without the flush?

He isn't obese to start. Georgi doesn't care about aesthetics, he is concerned with life and is a big picture person. If he was so focused on himself he couldn't study, raise a family, have a career and do idealabs. He doesn't have time for going to the gym. He doesn't take thyroid which is what can lose weight. He said its too hard to get the dose right which is true for a busy person. He explains how he damaged is metabolism and got unhealthy when he was younger bt exhaustive exersice plus low carb paleo. Most people stay lean or become lean by burning fat but he shut this down with niacinamide, aspirin and following Ray Peats work which makes it a slower process to lose fat albeit healthy. He is healthy and robust and clearly his brain works which by way of how the body works is the most paramount thing.

@@vidalskyociosen3326 ok. Every video I watch and read comments, there you are. Seems pointless. I am subbed to low carb down under and all the carnivores and low carbers and did low carb for close to 10 years. I am now adding carbs in and watching all Georgis videos. It didn’t work for me as many others.

Is this the same person who seems to plug sugar? Seems like a mostly smart guy but he also talks fast, rambles a bit and seems to cherry pick facts from small, random studies to make his point. I have to also say that, and with full due respect, he does not exactly look like the model of fitness. I would not be inclined to take his advise over say a Dr. Mark Hyman who looks by far more fit at 63. Young Forever is his latest and amazing book. Mark is very much against sugar. Personally, I would forget endocrine for a minute. For me it is about nutrition and exercise. That has to be done first before all these deep technical dives down rambling rabbit holes. Read Marks book! It has worked wonders for me- along with his original FOOD book I read years ago. If I had followed this guys advise, I would probably look...well, like him. No thank you. If you disagree, and since you know so much, for the record, will you simply agree to do a BIOLOGICAL AGE test and share the results with us? Mark is 63 but his metabolic age is 42. They measure accurately through DNA METHYLATION.

You hit the nail on the head, Georgi look older than those old folks that he said were unhealthy specially those carnivores like Dr. Paul Mason and Dr. Chaffee. Georgi even hit those low carb folks too, even it’s clear that Georgi is overweight.
