Both teams only played one game before the final. FSU vs Duke was cancelled, and GT vs Virginia was cancelled.

They both only had to play 1 game before championship game. Duke vs Fsu was canceled and then the next day Georgia tech vs Virginia was canceled. Although Tech did have the day off Friday before the championship game on Saturday while Fsu had to play Unc Friday night, so yeah technically tech should have been more rested and ready to go than Fsu. Just stated what happened and my opinion on who had more rest before the game and not making any excuses because I am neither a tech or fsu fan. However I am a huge ACC fan and I say Congratulations to tech on a great win and a great season. They are a good team and are definitely capable of making some noise in the NCAA tournament. I haven't looked at the brackets yet but I could easily see tech and fsu making it to the sweet 16 and if they both play to their strengths even farther. So tired of hearing how good the other conferences are and how weak the ACC is this year. Yeah it's a down year in the ACC but even still the ACC is the best conference in the country year after year after year. The ACC teams hang National Championship Banners constantly and when those other conferences start doing that then maybe I will start listening. Watch how fast most of the big 10 head home. And Maryland got in the tournament, really? Wow. 16-13 overall with a 9-11 or 9-12 conference record I think(not sure but I know they had a losing conference record) and yeah they beat a couple tournament teams but Michigan waxed them 3 times and not to mention the dogs they got beat by. Really, no team more deserving than Maryland? Wow. Ok I got way off subject. Just happy to have gotten to watch basketball again and hoping for a great tournament. Everyone stay safe out there and enjoy the next few weeks of college hoops because we are all very lucky to have them. Go Maryland I guess right lol

they were on fire. They were 9-8, then won out. Georgia Tech ended strong, Virginia ended weak. Had they played, Georgia Tech probably would've won.
