Alex Erickson i mean technically the statement was true because as a kid he drew comics a bit, but im pretty sure it was a mistake because gerard was never a professional comic artist, just drew character designs and all that jazz
You have no idea how on-point that statement is. Simon and Garfunkel were the originals, and low key they were culturally similiar to the emos of today.
Emo's dead m8, and MCR weren't really emo to begin with. they just rode the emo gravy train to success, but they never actually admitted to being emo, and once emo hit peak popularity and was receiving as much hatred as praise, and it was obvious that any day its popularity was going to start to decline and any band that doesn't disassociate itself from the genre quickly will crash and burn with it, Gerard said this: "I think emo’s a pile of shit,” and “I think emo is fucking garbage - it’s bullshit. ".
So I found this song. Then I found that there was an earlier version, made by The Bangles. THEN I found that there was an even earlier version, made by Simon and Garfunkel. That was a nice history trip.
I think when the Bangles did it, it changed the song to sound really fresh, new and edgy. Plus, all girl band playing this song like a rock or alternative rock garage band was pretty epic, then.
im going through the comments and im so glad someone knows about the Bangles version, my dad played the Bangles Greatest Hits in the car when i was like 6 and this song was always my favourite and now that i found out there was a version by Gerard i- ksbdksndksnfksnd
*so that's why they reference Vampires so much* *The Sharpest Lives, Vampire Money... There's probably a few more examples, but that's all I got off the top of my head.*
@MATTHEW FEDERAL 9976 2018 to me it's his wacky hair and beard, plus the way he dresses like a homeless man. He looks like he needs to get himself together. I hope that if he isnt, he will.
@@andycristiana1043 i was actually trying to be sarcastic in this comment don't mind it i know it's a stupid comment i did but thanks for commenting i just remembered bangles again
The rain falling in the video is actually my tears of joy. Edit: I just noticed that this is from the funeral scene in The Umbrella Academy and I'm crying even more.
Yeah, from first episode to all the others, the soundtracks fit well. It also helps that the series is old time and the music evokes nostalgia or sounds retro, fits the series well and haves great bops. This series, among with Reign have really done the soundtracks to a t.
I blasted this song one night on my headphones as I furiously peddled my bike home after work as tornado sirens blared and lightning flashed all around. ‘Twas dope as hell.
James Dewees wasn't technically a member, only a touring member (although he was great). And Bob didn't leave on great terms, so I doubt they're all "best friends" with him.
*insert edgy username here* yeah when it released binge watched it i saw the whole thing in 1 sutting and now ive watched the whole thing like more than 10 times
I remember this Dude, saw him August in Raleigh. Still riding that concert high. Pushing 60 in June, been to many many concerts. MCR delivered the best.
istg this series have one of the best soundtrack i’ve ever saw. almost every song played on it got me like “wow what song is this??? its amazing” specially when it comes to the endings of the episodes. just binged season 1 and coming to season 2 right away
