I like to cook and share that’s why I always cook a bit more if someone wanna eat even if he or she saying no, I say maybe they could try or after they smell they eat and if she shares the whole meal after saying no, that makes me glad sharing in food is so good feeling ( Normal Muslim habits )

Die Schwierigkeit der Deutschen Sprache ist, dass manchmal man die Satzart verändern muss, um den gleichen Sinn zu meinen. Zum Beispiel, lass uns am folgenden Satz denken: "Florian ordered pizza but I was late and there was nothing left". Bis zu "Florian ordered pizza but I was late" ist die Deutsche Übersetzung fast wörtlich: "Florian hat Pizza bestellt, aber ich bin zu spät gekommen". Aber der zweite Teil des Satzes verändert sich. Zwar, auf Deutsch, ist "ich" das Subjekt der Angabe: "ich habe nichts abgekriegt". Wohingegen, auf Englisch, ist "nothing" das Subjekt der Angabe: "there was nothing left". Naja, das sind die Schwierigkeiten, wenn man von einer Sprache in einer anderen Sprache übersetzen muss. Dass manchmal man wörtlich übersetzen nicht kann sondern die Satzart verändern muss, um den gleichen Sinn zu meinen.
Ich habe gelesen, was du geschrieben hast. Stimmt. Im spezifischen Fall des Beispielsatzes, habe ich den erwähnt, weil - in diesem Fall - die Englische Sprache ähnlicher wie Italienisch als Deutsch ist. Obwohl English und Deutsch Germanische Sprachen sind wohingegen Italienisch keine ist. Auf Italienisch wäre es: "Florian ha ordinato la pizza ma sono arrivato tardi e non c'era più niente". Die Übersetzung des Italienischen Satzes ist eine "Mischung" von Deutsch und Englisch. Zwar wäre sie: "Florian hat Pizza bestellt aber ich bin zu spät gekommen und *there was nothing left* ". Wie du merken kannst, ist der zweite Teil der Italienischen Angabe gleich dem zweiten Teil der Englischen Angabe und anders als der zweite Teil der Deutschen Angabe. Also, wir kann sagen, dass eine Lateinische Sprache (Italienisch) und eine Germanische Sprache (Englisch) ähnlich sind wohingegen eine Germanische Sprache (Englisch) und eine andere Germanische Sprache (Deutsch) ähnlich nicht sind.

"...in den falschen Hals gekriegt" Here in Pennsylvania, which is strongly influenced by the Pennsylvania Dutch, we often say, when we drink something too fast and we cough, that it "went down the wrong throat." Same expression... But I never thought of using it as you explained, namely, as taking something someone said in the wrong way.
@@lingoniGERMAN My father's parents spoke Pennsylvania Dutch as their first language. My county (Berks) was heavily Pa Dutch but is now about a third Spanish-speaking with everyone else speaking English. One county west, Lancaster County, is still heavily Pa Dutch. They do understand Hochdeutsch. Interestingly, a newspaper they read is actually printed in Germany. I attend a German church service once a month just to hear German from a different angle.

I'm used to "ie" in German being pronouced as in the word "wie." But here, in "kriegst" she's pronouncing the vowel sound like the one in "bitte." Is there a rule that changes this "ie" sound, or is it a regional variation?

Nice lesson Jenny thanks a lots. I visit Köln last weeks and to be honest was a few confuse. A lotsss of German speak really well english and never loss of opportunity to pratice. So each time I began to speak German, they let me do it for 1&2 sentances and then answer in English. Was a few pissed off lol.... How the hell are you fellow so easy in English ? -_- And btw, what the point of learning German for a tourist (not ofc if you want to live in Germany) ?
yes, many people have complained to me about that. We just love practicing our English :) the point is that it's always good to learn the language of the country you are traveling to. It shows that you are interested in the culture and there are always situations where there is no one who speaks English. Better be safe than sorry and learn German for those situations :)

I'm not learning german by my own or taking classes, etc but I trying to translate ( internet translators) german songs and I have a question: why the syntax of the german language is so odd? , I mean, I don't know if it is the style of writing of the compositor of the lyrics of the song or it is the german language, but sometimes I have to reorder the phrase and sometimes not. For example( this is a random phrase): "ich habe eine a hund" ich= I , habe= have ,eine= a and hund=dog.... but sometimes the phrases appeared like this: "eine hund habe ich" and i have to reorder... and makes me a headache when the phrases are soooo long and sometimes doesn't have a personal pronous... and is it almost impossible to reorder for someone who don't know any german. Why happen this?

Learn German with Jenny es ist etwas klein, aber ich denke niemand hat gesagt, dass am 0.59 du sagst 'ich habe dir eine Email geschickt' aber die Deutscheuntertitel ist 'ich habe dir eine Email schickt'. Bitte krieg keine Krise! :)

At first glance I though kriegen means something in the line of fighting a war- from Krieg. I don't know if the verb kriegen has any relation to fighting a battle.

At 1.00 there are subtitles: Ich habe dir eine E-Mail SCHICKT. - it shld be geschickt. You speak it correctly as GESCHICKT but the spelling in written untertitle ist falsch.

Und wie viele falschen Hälse haben die Deutschen? Ich habe nur einen Hals. Wir haben den Ausdrück - "going down the wrong pipe" - auf Englisch. Oder zumindest Amerikanischen-Englisch. Es scheint ähnlich aus. Man sagt das wenn jemand vielleicht, Wasser inhaliert. Kannst du "falschen Hälse" gleichfalls benutzen? Oder wie kannst du den Ausdrück weiter nehmen?
Ja, Redewendungen... Ich meinte dass solche Redewendungen sehr oft haben eine Geschichte hinter. Oder vielleicht sagen sie etwas daran die Denkweise der Leute. Es ist nicht immer gerade Unsinn. Ich habe ein Paar Redewendungen Seiten gesucht. Hier vom Wikipedia (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_deutscher_Redewendungen#E): *_Etwas in den falschen Hals bekommen - etwas missverstehen. Wer bei der Nahrungsaufnahme etwas statt in die Speiseröhre versehentlich in die Luftröhre (den „falschen Hals“) bekommt, droht daran zu ersticken._* Es hört sich ähnlich zu der englischen Redewendung an.
Ja, das habe ich im Video erklärt. "hinkriegen" ist eher für kleinere Dinge. "schaffen" kann sich auch auf große Dinge beziehen. (Ich habe mein Studium geschafft, obwohl es 8 schwere Jahre waren.)
Why are Germans so passe about swearing? I mean I come to watch a German video and I'm seeing phrases I wouldn't want my child to understand? What? Embarrassing Jenny and off-putting too! So now I don't know if the phrase should be used because you've used swear words in the English translation and I would not use such a term when speaking English. Please consider this in future, it's spoiled a really good video and I turn to your channel quite a lot, I wouldn't want my younger child to read that. :-(
+The Fakey Cake Maker this channel is for adults first of all, non of this looks like it would be content for kids, you wouldn't take your kids to go see an adult movie either and second of all, I use phrases that are actually used by Germans in everyday speech and if it is a swear word, then I usually make a comment like: be careful about using this phrase, it should only be used in specific situations.
