@ciseaux The difference between Dutch and Flemish is like the difference between two UK dialects. In Wales, they speak Wenglish, which is English with a few Welsh words and slang words. In London it's Cockney. In Scotland and Ireland, they have words such as craic, bairn, lad, lass, aye, grand, and wee which are used in northern England as well.
I don't know how they get the average wage for expats in Switzerland. But if you look at the whole country, it's wrong! The median wage in Switzerland is ~6600 CHF/month. If you look at the city of Zürich it's ~7500 CHF/month. So i can confidently say "NO -that's total BS!" I guess the main point for this statistic is: who do you count as expat? If you only count people that are sent from their company to e.g. start with the Swiss part of their company and remain in Switzerland for like 5 years and then get brought home or sent somewhere else - maybe this wage is realistic. But then you are in a very high position in your company. If you count people coming to Switzerland to work (which by the inflational use of the word expat would be the definition a.k.a. immigrant) there are alot of people working in jobs that just barely make a living wage. And yes, a full time job should pay a living wage! So this section about Swiss wages is just total crap!
Ich bin 100% Deutscher, lebe seit bald 16 Jahren in der Schweiz. Bei verschiedenen Firmen und wir wollen bleiben. Viele expats wollen hier bleiben, aber nicht alle dürfen
I am 100% German and have been living in Switzerland for almost 16 years. At different companies and we want to stay. Many expats want to stay here, but not all are allowed
@@ManuelSteiner glad to hear that you like it here! My main point is that the number is wrong and that he probably used a definition of "expat" that is from a very privileged position that is above average income. In the end, an expat is an immigrant. If i would have a German girlfriend and move to Germany from Switzerland, i would be an immigrant aswell... Also, i just don't like the word "expat" in the way it's mostly used. Originally it actually was people who have a limited time work in a foreign country (as far as I know it actually comes from American soldiers that were sent away for a year or so). If someone just moves to another country without plans to move back, it's not the same. For me the word it self has the same "vibe" like "I'm getting into entrepeneurship" (even worse in Denglisch: "Ich bin/werde Entrepreneur" - da schauderts mir!) instead of "I'm building my own business" - "Ich bau mein eigenes Geschäft auf".
Fucck it. .
We eat more than fish and chips in the UK. Cuisine has improved since the 70s. There were health food shops everywhere in the 80s and 90s, but with bigger supermarkets now, they now stock what the old health food shops used to sell. Niw there is only Holland Barrett and zero waste shops. Vegans and vegetarians are catered for everywhere now and not just in vegan restaurants. Even in Wetherspoons pubs.
Belgium may have better beer than most of Germany, but not all of Germany. 😉 Mostly however it has a bigger variety, but not necessarily the finest varieties. (By the way: My great uncle form southwest Germany worked there for many decades as master brewer.) Spanish housing prices are stable now? I remember not only one burst of a property bubble there... 8:20 Winters are not only cold, but also dark in Finland. The same goes however for Sweden and Norway. The beer is so expensive there due to taxes which are meant to reduce alcohol consumption during winter... 10:10 The cheapest countries are also the poorest. Portugal is currently on the rise economically - but therefore prices will also rise. 12:15 Wages are double to that in Germany for many sectors in Switzerland. Many German nurses e.g. therefore moved to Switzerland. But due to equally high living and housing costs it is best to live on the German side of of the border while working on the Swiss side... The high wages and living costs are mostly caused by the massively overvalued Swiss Franc. He didn't however mention the exemplary public transport in Switzerland (which is even reasonably affordable compared to other living costs there). In general I concur with your evaluation of this video. It's cheaply made and doesn't met European quality standards. 😉
Italian food :D my absolute favorite. I secretly love my winter Dutch food hahahaha They mean Belgium is diverse in the sense of the immigrants walking around. belgium does have diversity just as much as The Netherlands which is a small country but we took in the most immigrants in comparison. I believe the least diverse in that sense were the more Balkan countries Finland sounds interesting but I do not see myself speaking Finnish. My grandma is 1,1% finnish in her DNA hahaha.
I would also mention Czech Republic 🇨🇿 or Estonia 🇪🇪 For foreigners = you can find basically a lot of different types of food, beer, wine from all EU countries for MUCH CHEAPER PRICE, and you even don’t need to travel to Germany or France to try their best beer/wine cause Czechia or Estonia have it but CHEAPER Those countries have an amazing climate, not hot not cold. Better opportunities for foreigner students to choose these countries, exactly because of price. Students from different countries not rich, some even poor, so Czechia and Estonia a perfect choice for them not to feel poor. Yeah, those countries from Warsaw pact influence, but it says nothing bad at all about them. In the future those countries will have higher opportunity to compete with the Western Europe. If you are a Foreigner, or even not a European, Czechia or Estonia much better choice for the start to grow next And of course more available than Scandinavia
Yes, as a German this entire list is off, all of these countries are very expensive, even more expensive than the best cities in Germany in terms of real estate. I moved to Romania 3 years ago, bought a house with €150k, I pay €8/month for unlimited, 1 GB/s fiber optic internet. The price of food is the same as in Germany, also Romania didn't go through the migration fiasco that Germany went through so you know what that means, the streets are safe and clean.
“Belgium speaks French German and English” all the Dutch speakers in the north of Belgium -_- and the can speak English but it is not one of there language
I disagree with you, Spain, Portugal, Greece, South Italy , those are all nice places to visit, spend ur holiday etc... but not to live especially considering the climate change, who wants to be there when u retire in 20-30 years ? I sure dont....however I also agree that the video u were reacting on totally failed...feels like the video was focusing on free public education. Montenegro is nice also Croatia, ppl are totally sleeping on east europe.
ayy man. we're not grumpy in denmark😂 you probably just met some sad angry people hahah.. i like germany. its a lot like denmark in many ways. and we're basically neighbours lol. can literally drive for 2 hours and then im in germany.
Almost all of the countries in the EU as well as some countries outside (Iceland, Switzerland, Norway, the UK) are better to live in than the USA. (I am guessing this was targetted at an US audience). No mention of Austria, the Netherlands or any of the former Warsaw pact countries. I could live in Czechia, Romania, Poland or Hungary. And what about the Baltic countries? OK, Russia is close but other than that: lovely countries to live in with a high standard.
There are several countries, or cities to be exact, in Europe that are actively trying to get less tourists like: Amsterdam, Paris and Venice. Tourism, agriculture and mining are industries that harm other industries and are not good for the economy.
@@buddy1155 all true. but money is money my brother, and someone can live a good life off that because people love to pay for an experience, just not necessarily associated to prostitution.
@@kubyoindiya3269 Have you ever heard about "Veldhoven", that is a small town with a 45K population. That small town has 50% higher turnover as the entire tourism industry of the Netherlands. Just because people in Veldhoven work at ASML and are not in a changing sheets in a hotel or washing dishes in a restaurant.
Of course nobody speaks Dutch in Belgium 😂. I agree about the beer. German beer is great but many Belgium beers are even better. So Germany, the Netherlands are not on this list but Belgium is. Ridiculous.
Große ausländische Firmen in der Schweiz zahlen manchmal einen noch besseren Lohn als Schweizer Firmen. Schweizer Firmen in Deutschland zahlen nicht besser als Deutsche Firmen in Deutschland
Welcome to the EU....without any mentioning of the other, Eastern half of it, so thus Hungary (my home) gets spared from unwanted attention! and yes, Hungarian beer is not Hungarian wine, beer culture is yet another cheap foreign interference upon us, like unipizza vs lángos!
