I see alot of comments saying help the dog and help strays. The man does enough instead of making a comment you go and help strays. A stray or not gabbie did her job period. Stray or not it was a threat and got dealt with.
I thought my heart was going to stop when Lilly followed Gabby to chase off the stray. Little Lil might only be 5 pounds dripping wet but she's got the heart of a wolf.
Our cocker spaniel acted the same after accidentally running up on a bear in our yard. The trauma lasted for days of shivering and jumping from unexpected movements or sounds. He did recover but always stuck close to us thereafter. Hope she is feeling better soon.
Oh poor Lily. She is such a feisty little dog with a big personality. She doesn’t let her size exclude her from fun on the farm. I have always been amazed how she keeps up with Gabby, the vehicles and the general work on the farm. She is so quick. Hope her damaged pride and fear become a distant memory soon. You are correct in saying that Gracie has become too physical in her play for such a tiny bundle of joy.
I currently have a 4.5 pound little dog and one of my biggest fears is a predator getting her so my heart goes out to lily but you can tell that she loves her family just as much as they love her. I'm happy that she is okay and you are right about something having scared her you can see it still in the beginning of this video but she looks so happy being held and petted at the end
Larry i am not sure where ya live. But just a heads up some folks in Washington were outside with the their little dog same # as yours and a big bird dropped down ans snagged it.. All they could do is watch it being carried away. :(
I bet that's exactly what happened to sweet Lilly. I knew she was scared the way she was walking w you, looking to see where you were, she's scared. I bet that's exactly what happened to her. Still praying she feels better and that all the fur babies stay safe. GREAT Job, Gabby!!!
I heard of a woman out walking her large dog were approached by three coyotes that were snarling at them and only when her husband ran out of the house with a big broom screaming at them and of course her dog snarling back at them did the coyotes run off .
She knows what is out there and needs protecting from it . Leash walk her only . Bob cats , coyotes, bears , foxes , eagles , I do not know about racoons???? That is why you need her on a leash !!!!!! I have MS and manage to walk both my little dogs . I did see a Bob cat at the end of my yard this year . Coyotes are heard . Racoons come out at night . Sometimes sick animals may try to attack other animals . I am 65 years old . Little ones on a leash . It just works out better . Once a larger animal grabs them around their necks and shakes them it is all over . It happens that quick .
I am so glad that the dogs are OK. Little Lilly has some big sisters and Dad to look out for her. I was so sad to see Lilly scared like that and now she is OK. Thanks Dutch!
I do not like the fact that Lily is "Quivering" and keeps her tail between her legs. That can be a sign that she is experiencing pain. Hope she turns out okay. Art in CA
An astute point sir and very plausible, but its new Years a week later, theres fireworks and my 80 lb black mouth cur is acting in much the same manner.... i think a coyote, fox or bobcat came to the back door to get a snack.
@@erikbogerman2048 Yes, you are right. Since it has been a while now, if it was injured it wouldn't be back to normal. I just get very concerned when I see an animal act that way. Art in CA
Andrew Keeton in case you didn’t know small dogs get cold very quickly, I have two small dogs. That’s the reason they make sweaters for them. We have hair on our head but still wear hats in the winter!
With big sis Gabby to protect her, and the rest of the family to love and support her, I'm sure your sweet, playful girl will bounce back and be herself again soon! ❤
I love that Gabbie knows the boundary. She chased him to the boundary nipped him and listened to you. Our Shepard is the same way but I haven’t found a way to keep her from thinking our barn cat needs ran off! She’s fine with indoor cats but for some reason our barn cat she thinks shouldn’t be around the house!
Julissa Valenzuela I watched that is how I can tell I didn’t like it. I enjoy his channel but this video I didn’t not like. It was the dog chasing the stray. I get it. My first dog was a stray. Wondered into my husband work yard and he became a trusted member of the family. Our second dog is also a rescue. He handled it they way he chose to but if he has seen it before maybe he is going about it the wrong way. I get Lily needs to be protected but it could be something else that went after her.
Yeah I totally agree something scared her , Lilly 😢 A little PTSD She’s so cute just keep loving her she should be OK it’s just gonna take a little time. That 3-4-5 method to square is cool.Good girl Gabby.
Defo keep an eye out for coyotes and other predators when Lilly is out, I had a coyote chase my male catahoula one night while he was out doing his late evening business. He's the size of a labrador and obviously due to his size, I didnt expect anything would try and get him. Especially a coyote. My dog started barking in the dark, I went out to investigate and see where he was out, he ran back to me with the coyote in toe. Coyote didnt notice me at first and basically ran to my feet where my dog stopped. Then it looked up to me and ran off. I cant imagine what would have happened if my dog was half the size he is. Probably would have ended up being lunch.
O what a tiny mite she is. So so sweet. I think you’re right she was bullied. You’re a great parent who ales excellent care of his furry and human family. God bless you always.🙏🏾🙏🏾🌹🌹❤️❤️
Just loved the way Lily was looking into the camera. bless her she was looking so scared in the earlier part of the video too. Well done Gabby, such a great defender.
Dutch You have not offended me. It's when I get torn down over and again and someone else wasn't being the best. I have no doubt that you are a Christian man with a Christian family. I was in the Army. Learned to be an mp. It was a lifetime career in police work. It was a good feeling protecting people. I have been subscribed for a long time and really respect you. I was trying to say something nice but got shut down. Thank you for your kind reply. You are a man of strength and integrity.
Dutch, glad to see you're going to use the linoleum idea - I've recommended it to two neighbors and they took it a step further and ran the vinyl up the walls where the roosting poles would go (can you spell spray/splatter?!) lol Really enjoyed seeing how you sheltered & warmed little Lilly in your coat, and bravo! for Gabby - what a serious force she is to be reckoned with! Definitely time to have a talk with the neighbor(s).
Something very similar happened to my Lilly only I was walking her when a stray ran up and pounced on her, she wasn't hurt but it scared her so bad that she's not as brave around other dogs and even more leery of strangers than she used to be. My Lilly is also very small. I truly hope that your Lilly recovers and returns back to her old self soon! 😍 YAY for Gabby chasing off the stray, I bet it thinks twice before returning now. I'm betting Gabby got some special treats 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
There was a hawk in my yard and picked up a rabbit about Lily's size and carried it off. My neighbor had a small dog, like Lily, and I let him know so he could watch out for him.
I live in Virginia. My son and I were on our way to church one evening. He was driving. We both saw a hawk swoop down and carry off a rabbit about the size of Lily.
I had a cat disappear a few days after I noticed a big hawk hanging around in one of my trees. She was only about 7-8 pounds...😢 She wasn’t the kind of cat to wander at all. Always kept right near the house...but her favorite place to “sun” was on my driveway, right out in the clear. Never saw that hawk afterwards, either.
The internet is never wrong, and the internet says, "The best kind of relatives to have are...Farmers." *_3,_*_ _*_4,_*_ _*_5_*_ ...I shall not forget!_
That stray dog could have scared Lilly before as well. Glad she is running around now because she looks better. She still is not herself staying close to you as she was. Praying she heals fast.
Good job Gabby! I hope that Lily is on the mend! I have a small 3lb dog & the dog weighing about 17lbs injured my little guy while they were playing. Internal bruising and the back end was very tender. Now it is no more rough housing!
Out in the open like that could have been any number of large birds of prey. They have been know to take cats and dogs!!!! I will pray for her recovery. Good lady Gabby!!! God Bless Happy Holidays.
@@suzanneqespen5406 no, im not. Most of my family is from Oklahoma. My great grandmother on my dads sude of the faily was born in Ohio. Its possible we are some related to them. I dont know a whole lot of family history from my dads side. 🤗

Always keep Lily, gracie, and Gabby inside so they will be safe.Lily is small a owl or other bird of prey could of tried to get lily.always go outside with Lily and Gracie and Gabby when you let them out.God watches over all your dogs they are your family too.I am praying for lily, gabby and gracie.have a good night.
I have a 🐕 Chihuahua as well, I use to take her out, but now she is train to use the training pads. Where I live we have all kinds of 🐕 in the complex some have fleas all in the grass, I can come in and realized I can bringing them in the 🏠 house.
I'm sure Gracie can be a bit rough but the way Lilly was shaking, looking around and not wanting to go outside, I really think something tried to attack her. Gabby probably scared whatever it was off.
Been wondering all day how Lilly was. So happy she is okay. 💖 Good girl Gabby. She deserves a treat. Love this channel. Much love to you and the family.
I have been in rescue for over 20 years. That being said, if ANY stray kind of animal threatens my pets in any way, I will take them out....PERIOD ! Thank’ God it’s only happened once ( no one got shot , but the owner came dang close). If that makes me a bad person, well that’s just your opinion and trust me, your opinion means nothing to me. Blessings to you, Dutch, your family and your pets ❤️🥰❤️
I’m extremely new to the channel, and so far I’m enjoying it! That being said I find there to be absolutely wrong with anything in this video! That shepherd did it’s job it protected it’s flock! That’s what they are bred and trained to do! Also it was obeying the command of its handler like it is trained to do! Whatever that dog was whether it be a stray, neighbors dog, or feral is a threat to Dutch, his livestock, and family! If Dutch wanted that dog dealt with that shepherd would of handled it. It had plenty of opportunities! But it did it’s just in a non lethal manner. Kudos to you for taking care of your livestock and farm! And a beautiful dog!!
In a right triangle, A squared (short side) + B squared (short side) = C squared (long side).... 3 squared (9) + 4 squared (16) = 5 squared (25)... You can use multiples too.... 6, 8, and 10... 9, 12, and 15... But it is a great rule of thumb to making sure you stay on square... Glad Gabby is on guard... She did good running it till it was a not a danger to anything... And then coming back off the hunt when you told her to return... Good job... And good luck with the coop !
Dutch I love your videos. I have since I found them a few months ago. It is a lot of entertainment that I enjoy a lot. I try to comment every now and then. I can’t wait to watch you build your poll barn and bring the animals too. I love the whole family. Tell Brandi and the girls I said hi. I don’t know if I told you that I was born and raised in OKC. Every time you talk about a town I say to myself know that town!! I live in Paducah Ky now. Have a good day and stay safe and healthy‼️👵🏻
The dog she ran off wasn't that big, I hope someone didn't dump it. Gabby did as told, and did good. Still have o wonder with all the animals people are just dumping, they may of thought other dogs I am saved.
I have two mini dachshunds inside. Last summer I wanted a big dog for outside and got a lab/Pyrenees mix. My little dogs hated him. I could not leave them out of their crates at the same time. He was too much puppy for the old ladies. He is now outside full time and they are fine.
Dutch! I saw that Chevy pickup and went "Oh No!" then I saw the Porter Cable tools and it restored my faith in ya! Keep up the great work and God Bless.
I think that 24” centers for a chicken coop will be sufficient. You have it on runners that will help keeping it sturdy. You won’t have anything heavy in it. I had a goat barn that I used 16” centers that my horses got in and it took a while for the floor to break, but it was the outside boards that broke in the middle. One of the horses taped at 1100 pounds, so your floor will be fine. The linoleum will be great for ease in cleaning and it will seal the floor. Great job Dutch. I’m sure glad Lilly is okay. Gabbie is worth her weight in gold! She’s such a great dog!
Thank God she is ok physically and she seemed ok with her and Gabby but it was probably that other dog then Gracie became to much but man that scared me everything in your channel is family
