My hound is an alarm/alert dog, not an attack dog...putty in the wiles of a corrupt dog-whisperer. My neighbors use my dog for their bait dog. They take him off, torture him, release him with serious injuries. The vet told me to keep him inside.

I’ve had numerous Dobermans and a Rottweiler/Doberman mix. I had a Neufy mix and he was the most fearless dog I’ve ever had. Protective when it came to his home and family. Yet at the same time the most gentle dog. He is the only dog I’ve had that I absolutely knew without a doubt he would protect us. Well him, and the chihuahua of course.

We live in the country also. Don't have as much going on as our kids are grown.i do have my CC! I have a boxer/pit mix who is the sweetest but goes with me everywhere. I'm handicapped so might be seen as an easy target. HOWEVER, my dog inherited the Pitt characteristics with her head and people keep there distance for sure! Worked in LE for a while so I'm always careful about surroundings. To all the women out there... even in broad daylight be vigilant. I'm not paranoid but I always look around and do the ",what-ifs"in my head. I like to know where exis are etc

We have installed ctv that you can watch through your own TV 📺 plus you can buy a small webcam what looks like a doorbell and you can connect that via your mobile phone and tablets plus you can ask the strangers what they want as it connects to your live chat so it looks like your at home etc amazing what you can get hold of technology gadgets. atom atom Amen! German Shepherds are crazy smart! I’m a practicing Roman Catholic. About 10 years ago, I was attending a daily Mass. The Church was packed for a noon Mass. About 3 pews ahead of me, that row of people in that pew stood up to receive Holy Eucharist when out of nowhere, pops a beautiful German Shepherd. He was a seeing eye dog. I did not hear or see the shepherd until Communion. When this woman came up to the priest to receive Holy Communion, after receiving, the priest took the time to bless the dog. After I received Holy Communion, I knelt looking in the direction of the shepherd, and it was resting silently under the pew looking right at me with the most loving eyes. Now you know the JESUS and the angels were talking to that dog! When I say did not move or make a sound, I mean that beautiful creature did not move or make a sound until Communion. Made my day! GOD bless All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The LORD GOD made them all!

If you're concerned about the cop retaliating, call someone and let them know where you are, that a cop is trying to pull you over, and that you're going to a nearby gas station. Keep local non-emergency lines in your phone as well. Call them and give them the same information. They can radio the officer to let him know why you're not stopping right away.

Rottweilers are Great Dogs to.. My wife, and I went on long, walk with our Female, Rottweiler, to a canal, that leads out to the country. On the way back home, my wife decided to jog back home, my legs was hurting, so I could not run with her. I did not see our Dog so began to call her name. So I asked my wife if she was With her and she said she was following her right behind her. Not to fast or to slow just enough, where she was next to her. Every time it begins to get dark our Rottie follows my wife, as if she knows that I am capable, of defending, myself and my wife, isn't so much.

I was fostering a doberman for awhile..brought him everywhere with me. If anyone even got close to my car he would stick his head out the window with the meanest bark. It was so funny watching people jump 5ft back and the look on their faces. He was the sweetest dog though. I miss him, but he went to a good family. I will add that he only did this if I was in the car too. If I went into the store quick he would just lay down in the front seat and wait till I got back in the car.

I had a dachund fly across the seat and bite a cop that pulled me over. He apologized for putting his hand in the car. It was so fast.

I'm going to add to my comment...my daughter who lives in the SW said she'd heard of a woman who went shopping with her 2 little kids, got back to her vehicle, left the baby in the stroller beside the car as she put the toddler in the car seat. Suddenly a van pulled up, the doors slid open and a guy jumped out and grabbed the stroller and baby and put them in the van and then off they went. Don't know if the baby was ever found. It's getting to the point that moms with multiple kids need to either leave the kids at home with a sitter or go shopping in pairs. There have been stories of moms with kids in shopping carts being approached by women cooing over the kids. Mom looks over at the shelves, the woman, grabs one of the kids and starts running. Usually a man is waiting just out of sight to run interference. Now what does the mom do: stay with the kid she still has and screams, tries running with the shopping cart and other kid, takes time to get the kid out of the cart and run with it in her arms, losing precious time, or leave the kid in the cart to run after the snatcher to try to get her other child back? All scenarios are unacceptable. If you get the vibes about people, snap their picture, go to the front of the store and tell an employee and have them get store security or the cops. I'd rather be wrong about a person's motive and call the cops on them instead of being right but not acting on my instincts. The world has become a much more dangerous place than when I was a kid, or even when my kids were little.

You know it 's time we be allowed to bring our dogs in the stores while we shop! Not only because they are service dogs. Or maybe we should have service dogs for protection. I think this would be a great service type of dog.

Mary Cleveland 33 years ago I had a couple following me in a pet store saying how beautiful my child was. Would I let them borrow her or rent her. We left and took a very long circuitous route home, we lived 3 blocks away. Scary. So glad we had the car, rather than walking there like we normally did. Never went there again.

He and another man went to the house later and did a home invasion and killed the 2 teen daughters and mother. Beat up dad and tied him in basement. It made news. It was in CT. Intraracial crime (ie black against black) takes up the majority of murders. However, these crime stats are only the surface. Being more isolated, burglars and thieves know they’re less likely to be seen and that you probably have equipment worth stealing. Don’t get me wrong, I loved living in the country, but it was best that I put in a jam up security system with CCTV and fenced in the area right around my house, had eight dogs patrolling the outside and four inside. I ended up having to move for work and still miss it to this day, twenty years later.
