@@mikeog2617 "currently". Means at the very time I wrote that comment. Naturally it was a temporary thing. So, contrary to your comment, mine is still valid.
Me and my Gf left the place we were at when it was 0-5. We went to her apartment, had some leisure time... as soon as we ended there were already tons of memes about the 1-7.
I am German and I remember this game so well. I was just 9 and every goal was full of emotions for me and my older brother. We were cheering every time as it was a goal in the final. The goals even happend so rapidly my mom, who was upstairs, thought we were cheering over the review of the goals when it was actually the next goal. Looking back at it I feel bad for Brasil and I hope for a great WC 2022.🔥♥️🇧🇷 Either way we Germany fell down really hard after the Generation change and I hope we finally can do better again in 2022 WC. So I hope both teams will give their best for a great tournament.
This fall after the generation change, that's what happened to this Brazil team in 2014. The coach and management was really bad and the many players had retired and our current best players were still too young, i have no idea how they made to the semifinals
Fun fact: After their title in 2002, Brazil always got knocked out by the first european team they faced in the Knockout-stage. 2006 France, 2010 Netherlands, 2014 Germany, 2018 Belgium, 2022 Croatia
I'm from Germany and my local bar had a promotion that every guest gets a beer for free for every German goal. After the 3rd goal they couldn't keep up with counting so they started to roll in the crates on handcarts. We essentially had free beer for the whole night and me and my friends strangely overslept school the next day. Good times!
@@roachdoggjr99 You mean that I commented on two videos? Yeah... it was the same bar obviously. But that kind of promotion isn't uncommon in Germany at world championships so I'm sure a lot of bars actually did lose money that night. I was already surprised they kept this going after the 4:0 in the first match against Portugal. Germany was leading by 3 goals in the first half and people were already sort of joking with the barkeeper that they're going bankrupt after this championship haha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 i loved...its like Cocktail movie of Tom Cruise in the 80s ...whatever....but i really want to know..the bar broke ? ...Greetings from Brazil🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Funny enough Brazil beat Germany in the Olympics 2016 in Brazil with Neymar's winning the game after it went to p kicks. Its was pretty rad to see, I never knew it happened til 3 weeks ago.
@Sevian Medina useless competition? Well Brazil never won that trophy b4 so they added the last eluding title they never had. Much more important game than you make it sound. Germany also won 7-1 to a not full strength brazil as well.
Insofern: ❤️
I will remember this match till I nothing but dust. I watched with my grandpa, siblings, and cousins. It was a late night and I was drowsy. I close my eyes for 10-15 minutes because I was sleepy. When I opened my eyes, Germany were leading 4-0 at only 25 minutes into the game. I was shocked, but happy that Brazil was not making it to the finals. Everytime I watch this game, I feel so much better.
I love both. I’m Argentinian living in Germany but also liver in the past in Dublin sharing apartment with so many Brazilians they are smart and lovely educated and happy I wish a combination of them between my friends
It's been ten years already. I still remember that chilly Summer night in my hometown of about 50.000 people in southwestern Germany vividly. I was out with a couple of guys and people were dancing on the tables at the sports bar we watched the match at. I got so drunk, one of my friends had to drive when we went into the town center after the match and I was in the narrow back seat of my old 1990s sports coupe I used to drive back then, staring in disbelief as we passed by hundreds, perhaps thousands of people dancing in the streets, while fireworks were being tossed out of apartment windows and cars. We had just beaten the Kings of Football and we had a feeling that in a couple of days we were going to be World Champions. We were young and the world belonged to us that night. It felt great. Seeing the disgusting empty shill our team has become hurts even more when watching this video but nothing can ever tarnish my memories of 2014. Greetings to our Brazilian friends. I hope that some day, when we have a team worthy of Germany again, we shall meet again.
all will be good. We were so good then because almost all of them had seen great chances narrowly pass them by - for the likes of Schweinsteiger and Podolski it was their third and would be the last, no matter the result. Brazil performed badly, because the team were beyond their prime and needed to rebuild. Which they did, as we did. We will become better and better, have smaller and bigger successes, and maybe another world cup is looming on the horizon. For me, this semifinal is the moment I started to hate Bela Rethy. I was next door, having dinner. I thought, I will hear it if something important happens, all matches in this championship had been utterly boring durníng the first quarter of an hour. So I ate and listened to the sounds of the match and commentary, without getting much detail, just noise levels. Only when I returned to the TV after dinner did I find out that and untterly unexcited Bela Rethy made me miss 4 goals. FOUR!
I'm German too and I had a girl over this day to do some football and chill. So watched the game and were so stunned by what happened, there was no way getting in the mood after that 🤣
In football, such things can happen, the team I support is Beşiktaş. In 2008, we conceded 8 goals from Liverpool in the Champions League, we eliminated them in the European league in 2014 😄 Anything can happen in football
Wait for Part 2 of this match. It will be necessary more 10 years to show it here. I'm Brazilian and after Brazil has lost to Italy in 1982, I was ready for all kind of situation. The amazing side of the football is it. We never know what can happen.

Props to the guy who stood up for Julio Cesar. There’s really not much he could’ve done back there with the way Brazil was defending. I feel sorry for goalkeepers because to an extent, they’re really just there for damage control and are helpless in advancing their team’s cause. Even defenders get a chance to redeem themselves with a goal if they make a mistake. Not goalkeepers, unless you’re Jose Luis Chilavert taking a free kick. Goalkeepers do the dirty work that often goes under appreciated, and sometimes you can do everything perfectly and simply be screwed by the defense being overwhelmed and outnumbered. When the game ends 7-1, you have way bigger problems than the guy between the posts.
I pray Julio Cesar is doing well. I was genuinely worried about his safety after the game. I heard a horror story from a friend who was in Ecuador. The goalkeeper for Colombia in the 1994 qualifying match had an embarrassing mistake and accidentally kicked the ball into his own goal. When he returned to Colombia, he got drunk at a bar and a huge fight broke out. Sadly, he died in the fight. Just terrible. Nobody deserves that.
As a Brazilian myself, I really miss that day. I hated that team so much and felt like after 2006 brazillian team was never the same again. We used to have at least 6 or 7 brilliant players at the field, but suddenly, it was all about "neymar this" and "neymar that". Plus, maybe if we brazillians didn't care so much about soccer we could focus on things that really matter, like our politics and economics, that really sucks. I always found ridiculous to call Brazil the ''country of soccer'' while all great players and teams are in Europe. It's just worthless to be the "country of soccer" while most of your players are playing in other country. And by the way, It should be more, after the first half of the game the coach told the team to go easy on Brazil.

I was watching the game with my mom and sister, and after the first goal we called our dad if it was ok to stay up to watch the full game. The phone call lasted 11 Minutes or 4 goals. I'll never forget this evening
I felt the same way. Absolutely elated until 5-0, then I realized how much it hurt the Brazilian fans. Brazil might have got slaughtered in the match but their fans gained a lot of respect for their sportsmanship.
I don't have anything against Brazilians at all. But whenever I need to feel happy, I watch the souls leave Brazilian fans as they watch this match. It's cathartic ❤️❤️
5-0 at halftime and Joaquim Löw be like “ok guys, we got this one in the bag, dial it back and leave Brazil with some dignity”. Andre Schürrle be like “Nah....”
The days between this and the final and after the final might have been the time frame where I experienced my country at its happiest in my life time. We are not a outgoing or a really happy go lucky type of people but during this time, you’d go out and it was positive energy everywhere. That alone should be enough motivation for everyone to be invested in this event every year. (Sucks we can’t get our shit together since that tournament)
Many of you might not remember, but this exact same thing happened to Germany in 2006. The World Cup in Germany 2006. Germany lost the semi finals against Italy, Italy later became the world champion. This loss is still deeply emotional to many Germans like me. The dream of becoming champion in your own country.
@@laurenzwalter285 It was not just a 2-0. it was 0-0 for most of the game if I remember correctly and Italy scored 2 goals near the 90 min mark. It was different but also very devastating in its own to shiver the whole game just to get punched like that.
I was 11 when this happened. I think I will never forget this day. I remember my dad and I going to buy some snacks and drinks to watch the game, we come back from the store & it’s already 4-0😭
Im brazilian and I was at the stadium. I was 12 years old back then, I didnt cried but I wish I did, because I would appear in every footage of that game forever hahahaha
Few people can claim to have had such a historical experience in life. Did you know Jô Soares was at the stadium in 1950? He was also 12. Uruguay won 2-1. After seeing the people crying on the grandstands he asked his father why. Father replied "it's a love cry, son".

I bet this Guys never saw the legendary german street interview before the game started. When they asked a german guy what will be the end score? He answered completely relaxed: Thats gonna be a juicy 7-1 for Germany. I believe to this day he was a time travelller....
Im an Englishman living in Brazil, I was in a resturant with my wife to watch this game, the place was buzzing people cheering and singing a great vibe. When the first two goals went in the people were still positive "Its ok we will come back" Then goals 3, 4 & 5. The place was empty at half-time
this is the point at which the Brazilians failed, if your team sucks that`s the time when it needs the best fan support a team can get, but that's exactly what the fans in the stadium missed

When this match happened me and my family were hosting a German exchange student at our place. She was watching the game with us and she got embarresed, felt sorry and at the same time was scared to go out in public because of the reaction of the brazilian people. Her family called as soon as the game ended and told her to not leave the house for a few days hahaha it was funny, because my parents are very passionate about football, but they couldnt say any bad words because there were a GERMAN with us hahaha funny moments.
The funniest part. The German coach at half-time break literally told his team to stop scoring. Because he didn't want to humilate the Brazilian team anymore infront of there country. They STILL scored two more goals even with him telling them that. If he DIDN'T tell them to stop, this game might have with ended with German scoring at 10-12 goals atleast, possibly even more. The Brazilian defense was that unprepared to handle the German offense.
Did the german coach really say that? Because if so, that's such a strange instruction to give to your own team. "Hey guys let's stop scoring because we don't want the other team to look even worse, even though that would further increase our glory in the world cup." Germany should have scored at least 3 more.
@@riccardosessa5223 As if they were going to get killed. Brazil might be part of the third world, but its people aren’t barbarian. As a German group in Brazil, we felt more and more uncomfortable the higher the result got. After 4-0 we didn't even celebrate the goals anymore... We saw the children crying and we felt terribly sorry for them. After the game I gave my shirt to a boy who was crying bitterly, and his father thanked me profusely for it.
Yeah, they agreed during halftime to slow down their attack. They even let them score 1, you can clearly see Boateng didn't even try to takle Oscar, he just let him shoot. If that was Argentina or Italy (2 of Brazil' biggest rivals) they wouldn't have had mercy on them.
@@wilberts.cubero3629 Two things I'd like to point out about your comment: 1 - As a matter of fact, German players were outraged when Brazil scored its goal. Boateng, Neuer and Schweinsteiger went absolutely crazy towards Özil, who spilled a chance at the other end, which resulted in a counterattack that produced Oscar's goal. And it went on for several minutes, let me tell you... 2 - I wouldn't be so sure about Argentina being relentless in such a situation. Lately, our national squad has been playing in such a coward way, I'd bet they would cram together in their own field after scoring the first goal and just defend blindly. To put it more clearly, just check when was the last time that Argentina won a WC match by more than one goal.
What is interesting about this game is Germany are 7-0 up and cruising. They concede what can only be a consolation goal, and Neuer goes ballistic at the defence. Thats a level of competitiveness i can't get my head around.
I'm from Pakistan and a lifelong Germany team supporter. I remember when the 5th goal was scored, even my mother who does not watch football exclaimed in disbelief "what is going on?!!"
*At 5-0* Löw: stop scoring! Schürrle: what did he say? Müller: he said score more *Schürrle scores* Löw: guys, wtf Schürrle: what he say? Müller: he said score another *Schürrle: scores another* Löw: that's it! Let them score one Neuer: hell nein Löw: please, Neuer, BITTE! Neuer: fine, you big baby
For me personally as a German it is still the sporting highlight of my entire life as a sports fan. Unfortunately, over the years since then, I've lost a bit of interest because I knew there would never be anything nearly as epic as this victory...and my grandchildren will never experience anything as out-of-this-world again.
