After his last performance as minister, there’s nothing that I want to hear from this person. In my eyes he was just very bad at what he was doing and not honest.
@@pointblank0020 He is not "spokesperson for Germany" - he is a German politician (who currently holds no public office) attending the RNC. Also, when did you last hear a prominent U.S. media figure speak German while being interviewed in German? :p And on a side note: his grammar is a lot more coherent and elaborate compared the two frontrunners for the presidency ... that's quite baffling.
@Drew776655 Explain what you do mean by "largest army" in Europe - since there are only about 100.000 troops stationed throughout Europe. Germany alone entertains about 180.000.
As an American, he spoke English fine. His slight accent was cute. DW's langauge courses I hope are better than its journalism. Then I may speak German at least as well as he does English. The US will be Europe's, and Germany's largest defense partners so long as we see cooperation coming back from the other side.
Mr. Spahn should worry a little more about the AfD in Germany or the CDU/CSU will get the same problem the Republican Party got and the Tories in the UK got and the Macron's centrists in France got ... moving into a political vaccum too extreme for the moderates and too moderate for the extremes splitting the party and losing voters to both sides.
Finally, someone who lives in the here and now and not fantasy land. Europe needs to become "adults" and do more for their own security. If you didn't learn that yet, then not much US can do for you.
@Mark-12-31 You have to look back and research how long the USA has been asking/begging for this. It's not like there have not been any warnings. The man here, who is being criticized in comments, is completely correct and telling the hard truth. Any politician who says otherwise is being deceptive.
