I just got my J2S in last week after almost a 3 month wait. Looks great on my desk and sounds as clear and open as anything I've heard. If I didn't already have and love the Schiit Lyr+ the Archel would be next on my list of pickups. Impressive work tracking down that bass rolloff issue. I wonder what the ultimate fix will be down the line.
I own a Geshelli J2 DAC, and I am considering upgrading my op amps with either the Sparkos SS2590 pro or the Burson V7 pro. Also does the SS2590 pro fit easily in the J2 sockets? I use the unbalanced USB/RCA outputs into my stereo from my Comp.. Your opinion and insight would be greatly appreciated! great video!
Great video mate. I have a Burson PM2 with vivids and I was just about to order some Sparkos op-amps thanks to your video a while back. I might just save up and get this setup instead. I'm curios though, is the bass roll-off problem exclusive to IEM's? I primarily use planar headphones. What I'm guessing is that the capacitors interfere with the frequency response at higher ohm resistance more so than using headphones with lower ohm impedance.

Nice work! How would you describe the sound of the Archel 3 to the Aune B1s? Also have you listened to the Cayin RU7 and if so how would you compare it to your modded J2?
I don’t know how I missed this one. I use to use those Muse caps in some discrete jfet and tube mic pres when I dabbled in studio engineering. Interesting stuff.
Just ordered one and plan to bottleneck it with my FiiO K5 pro ESS as a DAC for a while until I am able to afford a J2 or J3 DAC.. haven't decided which AKM chip I want yet.. 500 bucks for a DAC and then having it shipped to EU + import sales tax hurts. Same goes for the Archel 3 pro, but I want to try it so yeah.. I basically need to pay 130 bucks to get it to Europe ;_; Hope it will be worth it. Sash Tres SE planars are my main headphones I plan to drive them with, but I'm also curious how my 6XX and my Aful Performer 5 IEMs pair with it.
Also interested in how big of a step up this Geshelli combo, Archel 3/J2 4499 is to your Aune B1s/Xduoo 05 with Sparkos is. How would you compare them in sound? Love the Geshelli stuff but live in Europe and the price goes up quite a lot with import taxes.

The deal is there is no tubing in the mod. You might be confusing the Eru mod with Glamdring. Also, it's kind of the easy version of the true mod which I am doing and selling.
@@MichaelBruceShortbus interesting, seems that op amps matter way more than the dac chip sets themselves.. i wonder how different they would be if you had went with an ess chip instead of an akm. Though if I ordered, I would probably get the akm, I have too many ess dacs and wanna try something new. But also would like to wait and see if they listen to you and somehow make a smaller iem version of the entire set up. Thanks for the video and replys🤙

Mine.. Endgame system for IEM: Q5S TC (DualAKM 4493 which in RMEadi2 and dual THX 788) + xduoo mt604 (class A 4 pentodes). Werk just fine n makes me cry for joy of an endgame towards IEM.. Peace again!
I had to replace the intro music with a copyrighted sound which is not blocked. Also youtube kicked me out of their partner program because I told them to pound sand when they wanted me to sign a contract.
