there are 3 or 4 types and hues for cadmium yellow. What would you suggest for someone that is new and wanting to start some bob ross type of paintings on that one particular color?

Yes extremely confusing for new painters. Go with medium or med... it generally the last word on the bottle or tube. Hope that helps.

I purchased some bob ross gesso white & black. The white gesso was alot thicker than the black. is it suppose be like that.

Did you buy normal gesso? You can see the different types explained here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YANlwXGIiwI.html White pigment is more dense than black so it will be a tad thicker ( but not by much ). Make sure you give the bottle a good shake before using it.

You are super welcome. These liquid versions in the video are for Oil painting only.
