Thank you. This was all well said. I believe truly that social media divides us. It is the exact opposite of being social. Social media numbs us from feeling, or when we do feel, we become anxious or angry. We close off from others and become self-absorbed. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I value your perspective
Unfortunately I am not as optimistic as you are. This world is lost. People are in too deep. Unless something happens that cuts them off from radio, television and the internet, as useful as the internet can be, it has been corrupted beyond that now. The migraines do disappear after time but it can take a week maybe more so that makes it hard for people.
What does it mean, lost? That would assume some absolute judgement of the world that you can provide, and that's just incredibly arrogant. The world just is, it doesn't have to conform to anyone's expectations of it and doesn't have to be accepted or understood by you or anyone else to be "not lost". People adapt to whatever world they live in and create this world for others, and it's up to you whether you do the offensive work of readapting yourself to the real world, or continue wanting some imaginary one that doesn't exist
What you talk about reminds me of this passage in the bible: 2 Timothy 3:1-5 "There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people." It reminds me so much of now - people being lovers of themselves - there is such an emergence of narcissism that seemed to start with the selfie and has spiralled. Self is god in our culture.
I'm 46 and grew up without technology...It's so nice to hear real wisdom coming from someone so young, It gives me some hope for the future...Technology is destroying real social interaction. It's scary to think how man will evolve if we can't separate from these devices.
I don't normally comment on videos but you just sounded so sincere I felt like interacting. I mean, basically all that you're saying here resonates in my heart as true. This civilization is getting really lost, especially with technology but also all the mindsets and programs that match it, and it's always pulling on us or pushing us or in some way taking us with it. It's scary, it's sad, it's infuriating, it's confusing. Its tentacles are inserted in so. many. aspects of our lives and so many of them are invisible. My heart hurts all the time--for myself struggling to live in it as such a feeling-oriented person, but also for this world, for how far we've gotten from ourselves and our living cosmos, how we've hurt ourselves and our relations. For how few people there are to talk about this with and grieve and hold each other and find ways back. I guess the thing I want to say is that we're all compromised in some way in this world. I'm realizing how much it isn't about charting a perfect course, it isn't about constant vigilance, it isn't about purity. At least for me--I get so tired of the vigilance I walk around under every day. The striving. I think it's more just to keep turning back to ourselves and our hearts, make a practice of noticing how we've gone astray and become divided against ourselves/each other as we inevitably will. Ask for forgiveness and grace and compassion, from ourselves or whoever we pray to. I'm just... realizing that the real god isn't out to punish us like the one that was implanted into me always is. They're always in the direction of love. Even the people who are the worst off in a way, the ones who are in a sense privileged and powerful but who are so enmeshed in that power and the identity of it they are 100% hypnotized that it's what they are--*who think it's our destiny to freaking live on Mars FFS*--even they have hearts, crying out from some neglected dark corner of their inner world. I'm trying to remember that. I think it's a sign of my maturing that I'm starting to want that self-compassion also for them, instead of just hating them and nurturing violent fantasies and intentions toward them. Anyway, thanks for sharing things from your heart, I don't know what it's like to do that to thousands of people but it seems pretty vulnerable. Wishing for us to every day just know how to pick up whatever thread is ours to hold in finding our way back to the one heart
I'll love to hear more of these teachings. I never had the chance to learn things like these at home. But actually the internet is the place that has taught me the most about it. That is, though, in combination with real life and actually, with animals and plants!! I've come to value comfort and discomfort. Imagine this: I'm in a rather uncomfortable place right now, with war fled relatives at home and a parent who's not coping well, lots of disruptions in my daily flows and lots of heartache all around. Yet, this me - who is somewhere between trauma/maybe ADHD, highly sensitive, empath and spiritual person - this me, suddenly turns out to be a solid rock in the storm. Suddenly, all the previous years of internal work, of healing and persevering, of running into hurdles and getting "stuck" (while knowing "there's purpose") ....... . Me, who constantly got told and shown that I'm not normal, not useful, not strong, not the way I'm expected to be :'D ..... I'm suddenly the person who copes best and saves the day, cause I function where many collapse. I'm used to discomfort being a part of the picture that life is. I'm used to do what feels right and leave alone what feels like ill investing energy. I'm helped by people, because they feel that I'm reliable and honest and open and can be all of that without being harsh (unless absolutely necessary). This path is powerful. We are often made to believe it is weak to care, to self-care, to think ahead and consider the past aswell, to consider those without power, without human language, to honor the up- and down motions of life as they come.
Hey again Lex, Justin R here again. I’ve been away from Instagram and most social media for awhile so if you’ve been looking to get back in touch with me there i’ve been deactivated for awhile. A lot going on in the world, lots of grief and sadness, and a lot going on in my life right now. On the subject of your video, from what i’ve learned, most don’t want to take responsibility. So it’s up to those who care to use what tools they can to do so. With that, while i am very much concerned about the selfishness and the narcissism you mention just as much as you are and the social inequality that can lead to, simultaneously the irony of not having those tools to help deal with the inequality can lead to more inequality! It is abit hard to explain, but i guess you could look at it from the angle of generosity. We give too much of anything of ourselves, we can feel exploited so we keep asking for more. You might get it and then still not feel you’re enough and fulfilled, especially if you don’t get that validation consistently. But on the other side of the coin looked at from another angle, all that you give leads to the jealousy and the anger of not having what another has. So it’s like you end up with a ‘double coincidence of wants’ (Look that term up for more info) as some would say lead to the decreased use of barter systems. I actually do believe there does need to be some spiritual third party (or unique medium of exchange or transaction management) acting between two parties when they do something for each other. Mostly because one doesn’t always have what the other wants and the other doesn’t always have an appropriate offer, so the third party kind of makes up for it. Like a watchdog association council but as an intermediary for solving social and economic problems also. While i don’t know a whole lot about them, maybe the closest well known things are unions and those attempting to use cryptocurrencies in a trade instead of money to varying degrees of success. The problem we have right now forming such a thing is part ideological differences, lack of time, and technical capability. And the biggest one at it’s root is something that keeps people working together. The closest we have right now being money since it is usable everywhere. I don’t think we will ever get past all social problems because then that would be coming at things with the wrong and faulty expectation of everybody being the same with the same interests etc. You want people to be free to do what they want but not so free that it leads to the problems with keeping people connecting and keeping together with the social and environmental problems that leads to. And i may have said it before on your channel but you have a very nice singing voice. 😎☺️ Hopefully speak again soon Lex.
I often loosely think about all those 10 points and try to remain as minimalistic & humble as possible which is so difficult in the world we are living today. Instagram feed our minds that we are not creative enough, Metaverse is unnecessary yet being shoved to our throats gradually. On the other hand, If we dont adapt to these things, our skills to survival will become obsolete, means to earn will become limited and not many like-minded people would be able to meet each other. So confused about what is in store for us. How to slow down in this fast changing world. I want to go back to 1950's which I never actually lived yet i feel I was meant to be born in that era

good thoughts. about #12 you read. It is false actually, because we have to be able to distinguish truth from lies, right? If we challenge nothing how can we communicate the truth... Not everything that is called spiritual is true..
Don't you find it strange to talk about feeding the ego while claiming to have access to some secret truths through some important guy, the truths that others don't get? Judging literally billions of people and their way of life, claiming some defects on their part, pointing to their flaws and juxtaposing them to your fundamentally much better way of life?.... I think it's impossible to remove the ego, but it's very possible to fool ourselves that we don't have the ego anymore while actually just helping the ego drive us. The spiritual ego may be the biggest ego of all, because when it's not seen it's unbounded How challenging it is for you to fully accept those "others", the two hearted people lost on social media? To happen to not feel and think anything towards them other than love and thoughts towards their way of living as being as good and complex and perfect as your own? To maybe not even understand how could you judge such complex manifestations of life so harshly?
