Everyone seems to assume that all tourists understand English, that is also a form of ignorance. Many, many tourists have no English, written or oral. I know this from having worked in the tourist industry in a different English speaking country.
El viento parecía jugar con el flequillo del hermoso caballo y el rostro del fuerte, bello y buena postura del guardia digno de ser un soldado “LEALTAD, TRABAJO, DISCIPLINA” mis respetos 🫡
When the King is made aware of how the tourist are completely disrespectful of the Kings Guards and the Kings Horses and barrier's are erected around the guards and horses to where nobody can touch the horses. And the Guards who are standing inside the arches are to be shown respect if not ban them from coming there period
You cannot put barriers up around the Horses and the guards, if a horse is spooked (which does happen, there are videos) think of the damage it would cause the horse and guard as the horse could jump, run, go forward into the bollards. The answer to the problem is Tourists need to learn respect and realise the guards are working soldiers and not just there for them to have photos taken. Tourists need to do some research on what you can and cannot do when visiting other countries such as England which is full of history. If English is a problem then watch what others do at the changing of the guards. You are allowed to touch the Horses but tourists again need to be aware of their surroundings and realise they are dealing with a huge animal. people are just so stupid and ignorant these days.
IT'S WONDERFUL TO BE A 'NICE GUY' BUT WHEN YOU'RE CONTROLLING A 'CROWD' THAT ARMY OFFICER / AS ALL OFFICERS AND GUARDS ''' SHOULD BE'' IS VERBALLY COMMANDING.... CROWDS OF TOURISTS GAIN RESPECT AND GENERALLY OBEY MORE EASILY WHEN THEY ARE '''ORDERED''' TO DO SOMETHING LIKE '''STEP BACK WHEN THEY ARE >>> TOLD TO.... ETC.
And for all those who use the excuse that "Not everyone can read english"! The horses can'tt read at all? But they are wise enough to know thedy do kick and bite!
Sorry to say but that soldier who's trying to get the people behind those posts does not really show any authority with his presence. Seems scared to say anything to these crowds and he did the same thing yesterday.
That trooper is very considerate and patient with tourists, especially when on ceremonial duties but has a wonderful "death" glare, when required, which stops offenders in their tracks. It is difficult trying to "herd" people because there is always someone who doesn't want to co-operate.
He is not scared at all. I've heard him bellow at tourists before. Perhaps he has been told to tone it down. There will always be tourists who write letters of complaint. They should be grateful they are allowed to have a free show at a military facility.
Remember there is a chain of command , the Troopers must obey orders from those above none of us know what has been said to them regarding the interactions with the tourists , they may not agree with those orders but must follow them . A while ago they were apparently warned after alleged complaints from some foreign bodies here for the Coronation who objected to being shouted at ( poor little things !) to tone down the shouts at risk of being fined ! Some did , some didn't , so far no fines implemented ! None of the Troopers are " scared " particularly this one ! They wouldn't be in the role if they were !
The tourists are always more difficult when the weather is rough. I really fail to see why anyone felt this trooper was ineffective……they moved, all apart from that one group in the corner who seemed determined to act like utter arses. That poor lad has been out in the rain and cold ALL day, and he’s probably well over tourist bs, but is being polite and reasonable in spite of provocation. I’d love to see some of you critics do better, but it’s easy to criticise from your armchair isn’t it? Pathetic.
This is pure animal abuse. Horses aren´t made for standing still solo for hours, their ears and nose overloaded, let alone approached and touched out of the blue by strangers that look, ie small ears and eyes close together, move, ie on their hind leggs like an attacking bear or wolf, and smell like carnivorous predators. Horses´ natural behaviour consists of roaming and grazing the most part of the day in silence with the herd scanning the surroundings continuously for danger. Please stop this antiquated abuse. For a people that claims to be proud of their love for their horses, this abuse is hypocrasy at the top level. Exactly like abandonning war horses at the battle field polluted with bombs and landmines, left to fend for them selves after the ´Great War ´, because that was cheaper than bringing them back home.
