That smile on the guy's face says it all. The only thing that surprised me was the fact that this heavy Tahoe got over 300whp in stock form. I would have guessed 275-280.
You know, there is a market hole that needs filling. What it is, is the 60s, 70s and 80s small block engines where the owner wants to run multi point injection but wants a front inlet blower with perhaps a charge cooler inside. Basically, just a late LS type blower system but for early small blocks. Wouldn't it be nice to bolt on a late type Magnuson onto a SBC with fuel injection? The relative simplicity compared to a late model would be worth it. You see people would buy it if it were compact since it dispenses with the headaches of turbo plumbing and for say $5-6000 for a kit it is cheap HP. I could imagine a new 330hp GMP Vortec or just a plain 'ole reco 350 but with aluminum non Vortec heads, opening up the ring gaps a bit, bolting on a 10psi magnuson with a single front mounted throttle butterfly and injection and you'd have a reliable 500hp for 10-12k. It would be a nice snappy motor. You could do them for SBF, SBC and SBM. Imagine a stinkin' Mopar 318 nothing engine with a Magnuson and injection or a boring 289 Ford treated similarly. I reckon I'm onto something.
