I started growing strawberries this year. I know nothing. I don't know why I didn't think to cut off the runners this year. That makes sense. Thanks for the video and I am very interested in information about strawberries.
I'm so glad that you learned how to propagate strawberries from their runners! 🥰 Also, I made a video a while back on strawberry care. Feel free to check it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l7NtJE4ivDc.html. I'll be sure to make more strawberry care videos going forward. Happy gardening, friend! 🍓
I put a small patch of everbearing strawberries in this year and have been "helping" the runners connect with the soil. If I pot them up do I keep them inside? Do you keep yours in your nursery over winter?
The strawberries would be better off outside. I will keep the potted up strawberries in my nursery since I probably won't need all the extra plants. I am planning on "heeling" them into the ground at the end of the season in order to protect the roots. If you want to keep the strawberries for yourself and if you have room still in your garden, you could also just put your extra plants in there after you have cut the runner off from the mother plant. Just a few ideas. 😊🍓
