Interesting. My relaxed hand position had my thumb under my index finger. However, because of the position of the thumb rest on my Leblanc student clarinet, my thumb is moved down under the middle finger. It feels wrong. The learning seems to be to test for this when you buy your instrument. Good lesson. Thanks.

That's a really good point! Most of the more advanced (and more expensive) clarinets out there have adjustable thumb rests that make it easier to have a more natural position. Although, there are some student clarinets that have them. It's something to think about if you ever look to replace your Leblanc.
