I always found it funny that dodging battler's projectiles is literally dodging an argument. It's the equivalent of if you could debate somebody and literally jump while they're talking and being allowed to not rebuke their argument.
Golden Fantasia is great but it's so funny to me that it and a lot of the presentation of Umineko in general shows all these crazy magic battles etc. when all of the hypest moments in the VN involve inane logic arguments over tea and cookies.
To be fair, the fight between Battler and Cap'n Erika (chapter 7 or 8 I forgot) is described to look exactly like one from this game. They argue about whodunit and their arguments become fighting game moves. The early ones are just that way because Beato and Lambdadelta aren't really antagonistic towards Battler.
okay i wm trying figure how this Vn is good? were the point in watching this anime. Who watched Sakurasou no pet will never ever watch this. on how bad this is. sorry brother but its the true. live with this
someone with the time to watch the whole thing, i see he remembers this was a fisticuff, did Woolie remember I sent him a guide and he never opened it lol
i was wondering if thatd get brought up and nope! (i actually remember finding that guide way before the fisticuffs when i was looking for something on woolie's twitter)
It IS some Touhou shit. Jessica cosplay as Marisa from Touhou in a school festival with her band, that's all. Her Meta finisher in the game is Marisa's Master Spark. This game is really tongue and cheek about the source material and don't really take itself seriously at all. I think the character selection music says it all. Oh yeah, Rosa's just an aunt for both George and Jessica
it's a really in-there in joke since Touhou creator ZUN is friends/in positive work relations with the artist of the OG When they Cry Visual Novels; they're both some of the biggest reasons JPN Doujin market is so vast
when they played this on the old channel, I had no idea what Umineko was and chalked it up to "haha weird anime thing" Here I stand, two years later, Beatrice wife-guy incarnate. And I am _LIVING_ for the complete bafflement that Woolie still has for this series.
I can't wait for Woolie to forget he played this game again, and then later re-re-rediscover it and have the exact same reaction to Jessica a third time.
@@frogsby996 I think they're about the same. But you miss out on the amazing ost. The story is just as good though, so you can definitly still enjoy it.
I cannot recommend Umineko more if you like the idea of Horror Phoenix Wright with Witches and Mystery. It's also one of the highest rated VNs on VNDB and I would absolutely love to watch a lets play of you experiencing all the plot and twists of the story, and discussing with Reggie and Minh trying to figure things out. Guarantee if you want a good story, you will not be disappointed.
@@generallytrash between commentary they’d be doing about what’s going on and how slow woolie is, it’d take a year. I doubt they’d play it every day as well
it's too bad, I was kind of hoping to see someone pull out some hype shit. Lets just say a friend introducing me to this game was very different from how this video goes down.... It's fine and to be expected when neither players are well versed in Ougon, but I was kind of hoping someone in the online section would start wiling out.
The premise is that an entire family is stuck on an island in the middle of the storm. It ended in a massacre. The question is who did it. The other question is if they were killed by magic or not. Basically, its a mystery. The anime op and ed is great though.
All I've heard of Umineko made me think it was like an Agatha Christie style murder mystery, so I'm going to assume any nonsense magic attacks are kayfabe.
An important part of the franchise is that there's either a fantastical explanation, or a very unlikely and convoluted, yet mundane explanation, for every event in the series. So yeah, you've pretty much nailed.
Yoooooooooooooooooooooo. . Glad it came back. Great murder mystery VN/Manga, definitely worth the read. Edit: "Turn off the fanart" - so glad someone said that.
Woolie... please read this VN. It's basically the longest one out there, but it's easily one of the greatest. Edit: Don't watch the anime, it is awful.
To think that this game was my introduction to the Umineko series, a friend lent me a cd with a ton games and this was in Japanese . I was so confused while playing It and even more when I saw the real meat of the series.
Seeing how well the fighting game worked, the VN could easily work the way Blazblue did, just LONG. Also could compare it to Persona somehow, but I actually haven't played those
"doesnt Kohaku attack you with a bunch of maid shit?" well i guess you'll never know Woolie since you refused to play as either of the characters when given the chance to *TRY* them. they arent fucking troll characters god dammit. edit: confirmed Woolie is shallow, if punch girl has a bit of personality outside of "punch" then clearly "he dont want nothin' to do with THAT."
Dang, Woolie getting through all the poverty fighters. Wonder when he'll get around to EN-Eins Perfektewelt, the sequel to Akatsuki Blitzkampf. Game is hella underrated
I played so much Ougon Musou on Hamachi back in the day. I just played because I loved the novel. Umineko is so GREAT. It's one of my favorites pieces of written media ever. But it's really hard to recommend with how long it is. And Ougon Musou Kyoku is CHATTY. Even for Anime fighters. It's really annoying. And I think that it's hilarious that in the whole novel there's probably 4 "Fights".
But there are a ton of fights. (Gap to hide spoilers.) Beatrice v. Virgilia Kanon v. The Stakes and Ronove Rudolph and Kyrie v. The Stakes Rosa v. The Goats George and Jessica v. Ronove and Gaap Maria v. Erika (albeit it was short) The fight in the Submarine base. Defending the Golden Land from Erika. Bernkastle v. Lambdadelta I know Dlanor fought too, I'm not sure when, and I'm sure there's more.
@@hexagonalpentagon7214 You're forgetting a bunch. (GAP FOR SPOILERS) Beatrice v. Battler at the end of episode 4, Beatrice v. Erika at the end of episode 6, Beatrice v. Dlanor, Erika, Cornelia and Gertrude during episode 5, Erika and Dlanor v. Ronove, Virgillia and Battler at the end of episode 5, Battler and Ange v. Bernkastel at the end of the game.
So it's a VN, old as fuck, but also re-released for PS3 with updated sprites. Has a so-so anime adaptation. Anything like a fighting game is clearly a spin-off.
Seeing their canon unfamiliar impressions of the characters are delightful and hilarious. Poor Woolie if he finds out literally anything about Rosa unless he really likes fucked up ladies
@@marcelhunter1862 I'd put Eva and Krauss pretty firmly above her. Rudolf is about tied, honestly. If we're including spouses then it's no contest because Hideyoshi is objectively the least fucked up.
You did something bad,or better yet said, the creators did, because there´s an option to turn on animations on stages i don´t know why that is deactivated but looks so sick with the animations.
Yeah yeah Umineko whatever, BUT WHEN IS F/UC THO? ITS LEGIT GOOD. WHEN WE F/UCIN BRO!? It's a joke he can play whatever will still watch and enjoy. F/UC is fun though.
