dude I saw this video at midnight last night, snuck into my bathroom and did this without my wife knowing and when she got up to shower this morning she was so happy 😂
I appreciate that you had the baby around and you still made the video that is helping so many. There is truly no real limitation is my take away. JUST GET THINGS DONE. This was helpful, thank you.🌻
This was crazy helpful. I tried to remove the flow restrictive out of my shower head years ago, but couldn’t get it out. I didn’t even think to just break it and pop it out. After watching this video, I did just that, and now I’m getting awesome water pressure.
This was a helpful video but with the increased water pressure my water bill also has increased. I'm spending more time in the shower now enjoying my extra water pressure.😆
Hey, do you know you totally changed my shower experience? I purchased 3 different shower heads from Home Depot and none of them gave me the water flow I was expecting. I gave up and then searched on RU-vid for the solutions. Thanks for uploading this video. After removing the blue plastic wall, I'm extremely satisfied with the strong water flow from my rainfall showerhead now.
The fact that you have a rainfall shower head says why it had no pressure. It's designed to mimic rainfall not a typhoon. You want high pressure? Get a head with less holes.
Thanks Bruh! Out of all the low flow shower head problem videos I’ve watched, yours was the one that spoke to me and now my problem is solved. I watched at least 7 different videos but your video zeroed in on the exact problem whereas the others got me to thinking I had a much bigger issue when all along it was the water restriction device that was the culprit. I can’t thank you enough. Trust me, I was really freaking out over the lack of water pressure. If myself and all the others here you helped, we would surely pin a medal on your chest but I’ll do one better. Next time you’re passing through north central Fla., the beers are on me!
I'm a general contractor.been doing this fix for 17 years..my customers were always happy when I did this..and of course all showers in my home I did this..easy to do you cant mess up.enjoy....
Customer: sir can you fix my water pressure in my house. You: sure :Goes in bathroom and knocks out plastic piece in showerhead then proceeds to play on phone for an hour: You: all fixed! That will be $300 dollars ma'am
Thank you!!!!!! I had to get a new showerhead and I was so irritated because the pressure was so much lower than the previous one. Saw your video, snapped that piece out and now I am super happy.
This is simply brilliant!!! Thank you so much for sharing this plumbing trick! I had no idea that manufactures put flow restrictors in their shower heads!👍👍
Omg, I did this myself, Thank you . . You were spot on and it was so easy, I was getting ready to buy a new shower head . Thanks for being direct and to the point, no needless talking .
About 4 years ago, I alarmingly noticed, what I would guess, an aprox. 30%+ reduction in the water pressure to my house. About that time, they finished very large new Apt complex nearby which although denied by the Water Co as the reason, am certain shares some responsibility. Not only is it now impossible to enjoy what a decent shower should accomplish anymore, but as a plumber, I know there is NO way to up the pressure from the main line. Replacing or adjusting the pressure at the shower head my give a stronger flow, but still delivers LESS water. Same problems with the pop-up sprinklers in my yard. A few of the older sprinkers didn't have the pressure to rise for water discharge. Had to dig them out and replace. Some new devices are now reinvented for lower water main line water pressure. I never wasted water in my opinion, but now it seems I am using MORE as a result.....
You're a life saver. I had one faint stream!!! Thought I needed a handy man. After following your tips, I just needed a new shower head, then I applied your tips...and presto!!!!
Thank you brother. I have tried buying different shower heads over the years and they all seem to perform about the same. I'm going to do this! Thanks again!
Thank you so much sir! I just went to Home Depot and bought a new shower head and was a bit disappointed. I just took the washer out and instantly my shower is old faithful 😂. Thanks so much for your awesome video!
U have no idea…. How best ur solution is….I have been dissing myself after replacing the shower head and was wondering what was wrong with it for the last 1.5yrs of showers…until today. You r awesome dude…thanks much!!
It's a requirement to have those put in by manufacturers. They don't restrict the pressure but the volume of water coming out. Typically 2.5 gpms. When you remove that you get something closer to 4 gpms. Delta, Moen, and some Kohler models have life time warranties and removing the flow restrictor can void them, just FYI. A small Allen key or dental pick will get that o-ring out without busting it or you can just drill the plastic out to avoid possibly damaging other parts of the shower head.
@@chairmanofthebored8684 you can't really void a warranty more so. Once it's voided that's it. I stated that so people know that messing with that stuff could negate what usually is a pretty good warranty.
Thank you for teaching your little one while teaching us!!! The littles are our future and we need to educate any way possible, especially in a loving way… so Thank You!
Your little helper was absolutely adorable! I loved when you said “There it is,” and then a little voice mimics in the background “There it is.” So sweet! ❤ Also, thanks for the video. 😊
My showerhead has the exact same restrictor. I removed the little o-ring around the blue plastic, and it helped quite a lot! But now I think I'll be knocking that center bit of plastic out entirely! Thanks for the before and after comparison. :)
just did this with a drill bit and can definitely tell a difference. might go back with a little bit larger bit after a couple of showers if it's not enough
I've been doing this for years. Military guy living in barracks, on Navy ships around the world. First thing I do is fix my shower. And yes if you have a good drill. That will fix the problem!!! Love a great exfoliation shower!!!
when you get to the blue flow restricter, there is a small black o-ring in it that can be removed to increase flow and pressure. I used a small metal pick to remove it. Now it works great.
Be careful when you do this. Sometimes the flow restrictor acts a seat for the rubber seal to sit on. If that is the case the water will leak around the threads where it is mounted to the arm sticking out of the wall. This trick does not affect the pressure. It alters the volume of water flowing through the head.
