A trick/tip I saw on a Diresta video when cutting dowels on a band saw, spin the dowel while cutting and you don't get the blow out/fuzzies if you just push it through Dude is a master of the band saw. You alwaysearn something just watching how he does things, he rarely calls out the things he does

Great projects. Here is a hint….don’t use a downcut bit for making holes…it forces all the chips down into the hole. Use an upcut bit.

You're 100% right. I didn't think about that till after I'd posted.

6:21 they will snoke like that too if you try to use a quarter inch endmill to plunge cut a quarter inch hole. Ideally you want to make a circle with the bit the size you're wanting. Gives the chips some room to clear

Love these little multi-way projects, Damien. For that CNC bit, go with an upcut whenever you’re drilling, otherwise you’re compacting the chips into the hole. We’re finally warming up enough around here for me to get back out to the shop and stop living vicariously (aka shouting from the bleachers) through you.

Thank you. The first time I noticed that happening was with another drilling project, so that makes perfect sense, I wish I would have thought about that. Appreciate that!

@@SothpawDesigns And if you get into a project like a cribbage board, drop by IDC Woodcraft and check out their CNC drill bits. I just did some cribbage boards with their 1/8” drill bit at about 1 second per hole for 1,000 holes, no pecking. It’ll put a grin on your face.

I use a Onefinity Woodworker x50. Upgrading the the Elite, but it's not arrived yet. If have a couple of nonsponsored reviews on my channel if you're in the market. I'm not paid by Onefinity for anything.

Sit your taco shells into the dowels so they sit upright while you're building your taco.

I am being forced out of retirement from this shit economy. I have tons of manufacturing experience with industrial lasers none with this type of CNC's Would you mind sharing how you get your sales and a rough guess of sales figures?
@SothpawDesigns
@SothpawDesigns 4 месяца назад
I'm not a full timer. I'm a high school teacher who is building a business that I'll transition into full time when I retire from teaching in a few years, so my sales figures aren't representative of someone who's a full timer. Regarding sales, many are local word of mouth, Facebook, my website, and a few from sites like Etsy. I've built a name in my local area by just sharing my work out there. I try to make it unique and creative, so people want to show it off, which leads to quite a bit of word of mouth. In my experience, Etsy doesn't really bring in much, but you're only one of potentially millions of online stores on their network. But that said, I don't invest much time in Etsy.
