IDK if this is still relevant to you but I just checked and 1.1.5 is available.

Same for T3 - i upgraded to 1.0.6 and then had to downgrade because ML only supports 1.0.5 which is what I had to start with...

You need to have the same version of magic lantern on all cards and settings might change while swapping. I am not sure about the need to reinstall it everytime you swap, but I think you don't have to.

What happened if I change my sd card for other without the magic lantern installed?

I used the intervalometer feature to shoot raw frames 5 seconds apart, meaning the original timelapse was 4k! I might create an in depth tutorial if I have the time.

Are you recording in RAW or just H264? The filesize of RAW footage is massive, so the card might not be able to handle it. Have a look at www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5451.0 for some tips on RAW recording on the 5D Mark III. TL;DR: Your card needs to be super fast. This post also seems to display the same problem on your camera model: www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=8445.0 If you aren't recording RAW, check if the bitrate is set above 1x - the card might not be able to handle it. If that is set at 1x, I don't know what it might be. Comment back how it goes, and if it still doesn't work maybe someone more knowledgable than myself could help!

+TFu It changes the interface for stills but I find it much more intuitive than the default interface. You can still use auto mode! Magic Lantern has lots of extra features for still photography too.

I haven't tried this, but a person on the ML forums seems to have a solution: www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=9225.0 "To Get the progressive signal out you have to do reverse telecine (3-2 pulldown) that will get a 23.976 stream from the 60i stream."

What card are you using? Sometimes the SD or CF cards aren't fast enough, while sometimes the actual card writer in the camera isn't capable, so you will have to decrease the resolution. Try borrowing a faster card and see if that fixes your problem. Is the flickering due to artificial lighting? If so changing the shutter speed will fix that.

Jake Coppinger I was using a 16gb 40 mbps, just bought a faster card yesterday, 128gb 80mbps, still same problem, starts skipping frames about 6 seconds in. The flashing is something software related I think. It flashes back and forth from the ML menu and the live view. I really want to use ML but these issues are making it useless to me.

No, there isn't unfortunately. Magic Lantern is a big swaying point for dslr shooters when they choose their camera system (whether Canon/Nikon/Sony/MF43).

I don't believe so - manual focus gives you much better results for film because you have more control.

+Arsha Mortezapour It depends on how much the card slot of the 700D can handle, do a search for 700D card slot speed with magic lantern raw. If you can't find any information just go for one of the faster cards you can find. Bigger capacities are better, but I prefer to use two smaller cards, meaning you can offload one while you shoot on the other.

I can assure you it does not touch the firmware on the camera. It runs from the SD card, meaning that if you want to remove it you just format the card. The danger comes from the camera attempting to run a corrupted copy of Magic Lantern - so make sure you let it finish copying before pulling out the SD card from your computer.

You can see more details on the Magic Lantern Frequently Asked Questions - wiki.magiclantern.fm/faq > "Does Magic Lantern completely replace Canon firmware?" No. Magic Lantern runs from the card, as an add-on over standard firmware. You will still be able to access all Canon functionality. To go back to Canon firmware, you may: Press and hold SET at startup to bypass ML only once (for the current session). Format your card in the camera and choose to remove Magic Lantern. Disable the bootflag (this will uninstall ML from the camera; to do this, run Firmware Upgrade and follow the instructions).

UPDATE: I tried it out and I am in love with this. It gives me features that I have to have external accessories hooked up to the camera to get. My biggest usage of it right now is Timelapses. But I love the zebra, fibonacci overlay, and dual iso, and bracketing. These are all things I could never have on my t3i. thanks again for the video and your help.

I don't believe so, magic lantern runs on the 5D rather than the recorder. It looks like that recorder outputs some really nice 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes though, that's a pretty great format.

Yes it can, i use my canon 50d (which has compact flash) and it works beautifully

At this stage it doesn't look like it (magiclantern.fm/), however there is an active thread about building support for the 7D Mark II (www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=13746.0). Be careful with alpha builds though - one of the other commenters said that an in-progress build nearly bricked his camera.

Ideally, yes. If you want to use the same card you will have to wipe the card and install the version of magic lantern for your second camera before using that one - the firmware is camera specific.

It's mainly for video. It doesn't replace the original firmware, it just adds a layer on top of the system that came from the factory, it's installed on the SD card.
